I found out that if i use Viva paper towels and dip them in cement I can drape the balloon. The thick layer of cement can be added to the draped balloon after it dries. I also use my hands to add it to the balloons instead of the frosting method. I of course wear gloves to keep my hands protected. When I was doing this I wasn't making rocks - I was making the lawn balls. It was really so much easier to put a thick layer of cement on a surface with texture. Those balloons are really slippery when you try to smear them with anything. As far as I know the Viva paper towels are the thickest paper towels you can buy in the supermarket. Those blue disposable shop towels would probably work even better. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS - KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK HELEN.

Helen - next time you wish to make rocks try covering your balloon or whatever you want to use for a base with tin foil. It will help you stabilize the object and you can add wrinkled up “lumps” of tin foil anywhere on your object to make to uneven areas as a rock has. It should work very well for you and make the job easier.

Coffee was late today in Edinburgh! My favourite time is early evening as the sun is setting, I have an amazing view and the sunsets are breathtaking, a glimpse of the beauty of the Lord I say :D I so love to look at the sky. I thought Dublin sounded familiar. My father was stationed at Robins AFB in '67-68 when I was in junior high. I'm living in Blue Ridge, Ga now. I love coffee and nature and the Good Lord like you. When you build with cement it lasts a long time.
