I loved the Double Impact take on Final Fight's soundtrack, so I modded it into the Sega CD version of the game. What do you guys think? (If you'd like to play it yourself, you can find a link for the mod in the description!)
I'm probably in the minority here, but I actually prefer the original in-game remixes composed by T's Music. Now, the overly-bland English voice acting from this game is something I can do without. XD
Final Fight is easily one of my all-time favorite video games. Top 10, if not top 5, and this modded OST hypes up the action to the nth degree. It goes in sync with the classic CPS-1 sounds, I feel like. Well worth the effort to do so, Alex. Thank you!
@@NintendoComplete Now hear me out: Final Fight CD, but the best remix of its original themes. I want to dish out punches in the Subway with "Mad Gear Hideout ~Sodom Dancing~" and so. NOTE: I'm restricting into official Capcom releases.
Funny you should say that, because _Final Fight_ was heavily inspired by the 1984 movie _Streets of Fire_ . In fact, from what I've heard, _SOF_ was so popular in Japan that it influenced a LOT of 1980s Japanese media well into the early 1990s, including, but not limited to, Sega's _Street of Rage_ (alias _Bare Knuckle_ ) franchise.
@@DavanP88: I would love an animated-series adaptation of the _Final Fight_ franchise on Netflix with animation produced by Powerhouse Animation, the same company that currently works on _Castlevania: The Series_ .
@@DavanP88: Same here. Apparently, I said something that the algumorhythm didn't like, but I said that I'd like to see an animated _Final Fight_ show on Netflix by the same people that are responsible for _Castlevania: The Series_ .
I got all the files work on the NTSC-J version (the opening cinematic is out of sync, only because of language difference). This is too awesome, thanks a bunch!
Great effort put into this! This was my jam back in the day on the Sega CD, and I'd never heard the Double Impact soundtrack. You were completely right on your take; the grittier, grimier tone of the tracks match up so perfectly with the punk-punching action.
It's kinda hard to think of the platform as a failure with something like Final Fight CD. I owned the original CD version back in the day. Blasted it through on parents tower stereo when they were gone.
The main issues with the Sega CD would be the same problems that would do its successor, the Saturn, in: the expensive price tag, and most of the library of good and great games staying in Japan.
@@guidadiehl9176: Yeah, it would have been nice if the Saturn versions of _Snatcher_ and _Policenauts_ were released outside of Japan. The Sega CD version of _Snatcher_ was indeed a gaming classic as well. Too bad it flopped during its initial release, though.
So in terms of rankings of the ost's from each version, which one sits on top for you, and then which one sits on the bottom *I have a hard time choosing the double impact ost and Sega CD versions, arcade is good in my book, I have a soft spot for the snes ost, gba being the bottom for me, granted it was an early launch title, but if I didn't know any better, I would've thought it was a gbc ost*
@@Dorian_Scott It's doing great, and even includes Captain Commando as a bonus. Currently, the port is mostly true to the arcade, but it does suffer from a bit of slowdown and flicker. It also has options for 4 enemies at 60 FPS, 6 enemies at 30 FPS, and 6 enemies at 60 FPS (but it requires an overclocked CPU)
Ah, that sucks. If it doesn't like split files, you could try mounting the image on your computer with a virtual drive and ripping it to a format your cart supports.
@@NintendoComplete i converted it in bin/cue format, same issue 😮💨 For me, you need to make a version based on a native cue/bin not multiple bin like the release with arcade soundtrack.
@JCVD59 The files in that zip were all created from the soundtrack rip that Capcom posted as a free download on their website to promote the game back when it was new, so I don't see the harm in offering them up like this. Posting a complete disc image isn't the same thing, and that's a line I'm not going to cross.
@@NintendoComplete No, I get that. But it looks A LOT worse..like, so much worse that I would find it distracting if I tried to play this. Really drives home the limited color palette of the Genesis. BTW, the quality of the music is also a lot worse than SNES, and further from the arcade, due to the Genesis' embarrassing FM synthesis... All that, and what does it really have that the SNES version doesn't? The least interesting/most annoying stage from the arcade game, that was dropped on the SNES, and a completely superfluous character who is more or less a clone of Cody?
@isd8894 The music isn't FM. It's steamed straight off the CD. Guy and Cody play pretty differently, and this one has 2P co-op play as well as an extra exclusive mode. I'm a big fan of the SNES game, but I think that this is a much more accurate representation of the arcade game.

I've said this once and I'll say it again:
These new tracks work so much better than the lame remixes in the actual SEGA/Mega CD port
Someone needs to export SCD's colors into the overseas versions. Nuff said.

A very unique version. I enjoy the soundtrack, and the control responsiveness the most.

My eyes took a while to get used to the amount of frames this animations have! Really cool!
Final Fight CD what a great port
This might just be the coolest thing you've ever done. These new tracks perfectly complement the gameplay.
Thanks! I thought they did, too.

Alan Ritchson (Reacher) would play Haggar!
I’d take a tv series happily.

I like how you give Thrasher a nice little shank as he tries to get up at 7:15.
I remember the original vid and asking for the mod forever ago. Glad to see history not repeating itself. THANKS!

One of the best arcade games ever!
This port is so amazing, now, that graphics though.
Amazing work. Thank you !
Had the other sega cd version. I like this soundtrack too. Thank you for all the videos and taking me back in time 😊
For the ending, it seems Guy loves her too. Otherwise he won't attack Cody at that moment XD
Close as the arcade as you can get, Just without putting the quarters in the machine 😊😊😊
Finally Co-op!! More 2players 😅 and thanks for playing love this channel
Good one! Absolute classic

Is there some reason Guy kicked the shit out of Cody at the end? lol
