This song brought me here. I love the fact that you had the lyrics and you took the time to understand them. It is a 20-minute song and I've watched your reaction twice. I love how you get it and how you can still listen to it a couple more times in order to understand everything. Hi from Mexico City.
To better understand the lyrics of this master piece: it follows the story of a (I’m not sure) indigenous or gypsy woman who was captured by the inquisition and was being tortured to accept the Christian God but she only believed in Gaia. Finally when she was finally passing away after a brutal torture, Gaia, (female vocals) stands before her and takes the woman with it. But just before her last breath, the woman casts a spell on the church that tortured her and so many others, to the destruction. This story has other parts that talk about other characters of the same story in this album and I think other two albums. I wasn’t planning to watch a reaction video but I enjoyed your video and your appreciation to this song.
Beautiful reaction! You guys are lovely! You pretty much experienced the same feelings as I did listening to this masterpiece. Much love from Bulgaria!
This album belongs to the Gaia trilogy, all three share the same theme, nature Gaia and our interaction with it. This will always be my favourite song. When I heard it at 15 because I was fascinated by the whole history of witch burnings, which is the first part with the four singers and the dialogue. I loved the idea of a woman so strong and defiant that even when subjected that whole farce-trial and upon pain of death instead of cowering and denying her whole self and bowing to the patriarchy and her oppressors just went “then burn my soul too”. And now more than 10 years later besides the feminist overtones I adore the second part. Makes me cry and smile every time. And also makes me want to go out there and rage against the government. ETA: Mägo have a lot of songs calling out the hypocrisy of the church. For example in Fiesta Pagana, which we all treat the ultimate after work drinking party song (it’s more a proletarian protest song tbh, but they play it in all the parties and all the bars) there’s a line that goes “If it is true that there is a God he should work from sunrise to sunset”. Not to speak of more “serious” songs like this one or La Voz Dormida

I love the live version from the Diabulus in Opera concert in Mexico City. It has a live orchestra, choir and even bag pipes. Would love to see you react to "Gaia" from that same concert.
Mago does not write songs, he writes poetry, I have been a fan of Mago since 2002, I have grown up with this band, without a doubt the best band in Spain.....
Mägo de Oz is a Spanish folk metal band founded in Madrid on July 7, 1988. Consecrated as one of the most recognized heavy metal bands in Spanish It would be tremendous if this band could perform before the US public that understands so much about Heavy Metal and be able to appreciate and enjoy a renewed concept. I think it would be very good
If you liked this one I reccomend listening to Gaia and La venganza de Gaia, both songs are beautifully written and there's a part in the later that lefts you gutted because of how sad it is.
they are a very theatrical group too, these albums came with their own "side history" or plot, like a small novel, didnt expect to find this song here but its really cool that it happened, both nightwish and mago are my favorite bands.
I met the band when I was 12 in a concert in Barcelona, the last concert with the old singer. I will never forget that day. I still have a music sheet book signed by the band. I love mägo de oz! 😍
I love this song with all my soul. And I love when I have a new opportunity to listen to it again. My favourite song of Mägo de Oz by far, and it is merithous because they have many great songs. Thanks for this reaction and greetings from Spain.

Mago is a very controversial band, some love them, some hate them I still remember when I binge listened to everything they had, but after so many line up changes (particularly the departure of Jose Andrea, the lead vocalist, who is the one that starts this song in studio but it's not in the live footage) I kinda lost interest. But the first couple of albums were just amazing, nobody can't deny that. The golden era of the band was glorious.
Oh boy, I never expected to see you guys react to this master piece but I'm glad I came across it. Glad to see people giving Mago de Oz a listen. Greetings from Mexico 🤟🏿 P.s. I was fortunate to see them live in Mexico city, with the national opera choir and orchestra... Just amazing!
I knew that Mägo de Oz was great, I did not know this song. I loved it and loved your reaction. By the way I hope that one day you'll be able to come to France, you should come to the HellFest!
Mago de öz is one of the most important spanish bands on metal scene, many elements are pretty well done, instruments, vocals, technique, and many other things, there are many people that don't like them, i don't know why, but if they are not my cup of tea i like them a lot, and they have many songs. Wind rose, is one of my favorite songs from them.
You MUST listen to the Diabulus in Opera concert version. It's in another level. I prefer not to tell you about the official video, it's something that you need experiment by yourself
It feels good seeing people from other places appreciate this masterpiece 🖤 You should totally listen to their other songs!! Like Ira Dei, Gaia, Atlantia or La Venganza de Gaia; they're really good (and pretty long too xD), of course they don't compare to La Cantata but, the message they provide is incredible. Greetings from Latam! 🇨🇴🤘
Maybe you already know…this history is about the inquisition, talks about an indigenous girl who is being judge by a priest because she didn’t want to leave her fait in her goddess (Gaia), so she is about to be burned alive. There is a part in the song where Gaia talk to her.Gaia:close your eyes and I will take you where the dreams become songs, live hurts I heal you, sleep and dream I’ll take care of you.
This song narrates the last hours of Azaak, an Aztec woman captured in the conquest, condemned to die at the stake for refusing to renounce her goddess, Gaia, and to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. In this story, the inquisitors, Azaak and even mother Gaia intervene (of which after this, Azaak would be a part, like Alma Echegaray in the first part of the trilogy). At the end of this song, the Psalm of the Disinherited (The God of the Sad) is read, which is a direct criticism of the Church and the Christian god.
Great reaction! I recommend some songs from a Spanish group that you are going to love. ROBE, with spectacular live sound. 'Si te vas (If you go)' th-cam.com/video/fJ5CN04CvxM/w-d-xo.html 'Nana triste (Cruel lullaby)' th-cam.com/video/uKhnwdijf-8/w-d-xo.html In the second song, Roberto begins by telling the audience: 'With this song, I would like to hurt your feelings. Because what good is a philosopher who doesn't hurt anyone's feelings?' Here I leave the lyrics of 'Nana cruel' translated into English: go to sleep That you are already safe from everything The sun has gone excited it went well this sunset go to sleep What am I going to sing to you Such a cruel lullaby Like reality: Once upon a time a humanity I what, what I thought... I who firmly believed in love Today I know that no, that it doesn't matter anymore And that you have to find another reason for life And I look in the colors of the sunset and I can't find it I who spent my nights in negotiation... I'm waiting for you I, who made every second another better world... I'm waiting for you I, who watched the whole nights... I who, I would like to be able to tell you That life is out there and there are only people that I would like to understand you And hug you and cheer you up and help you always I, who studied the human being, tell you No I don't expect anything anymore I, who tried to understand his motives... No I don't expect anything anymore I, who would like to meet you... I what, what I thought... I firmly believed in love... Nope Today I know that no, that it doesn't matter anymore And that you have to find another reason for life And I look in the colors of the sunset and I can't find it sleep, that out there There are only monsters, there are only people What buys you and what sells you That he hates you and that he lies to you That steals, that kills you That rapes you and that you don't feel anything Go to sleep, the sun has already gone What did I have to do, she said, and left And she promised to return at dawn
finally someone reaction to Mago the Oz! please please please please please react to Atlantia I would voluntarily translate the song for you guys if can't find the lyrics in english!
Hola.
That was amazing! I love this band and this album and specially this song! I love that it's the closing piece of an incredible story, you should check out the whole story of Gaia 1, 2 and 3, it's unbelievable. BTW pretty much all of Mägo de Oz's albums are rock operas, check out Jesus de Chamberi and Finisterra!
Although I gotta confess: I don't like them now (ship of Theseus problems) and I think Mägo sounds best with Jose Andrëa singing! Also, Big Simon, their producer for this album and others, died some time ago, so they lost that sound…
Uffff.... so many things to say about this song... but I prefer not to say it so as not to hurt sensibilities. I prefer to pay my little tribute to Mago de Oz, a band that I know perfectly well because I've been a fan since they started, when, back in 1991, Mago became the lead band on the radio show La Rosa de los Vientos. A show that still exists and that accompanied me on endless study nights in Seville. Such is the strength of 'La Rosa de los Vientos' that it transcended, and still transcends, the antenna of the Onda Cero radio station. Txus, leader of Mago, composed and recorded a song to give it to Juan Antonio Cebrián, creator of the program, who died at just 41 years of age, becoming a legend on late-night radio in Spain, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. A program dedicated to science, mystery, and above all, determined to discover the truth of things. As Txus himself said "At night, turning the dial, I suddenly found a man with a beautiful voice (Cebrián) who told you things about science, history or mystery with ease and in such a didactic way, that I he made me change the pillow for the radio. I've grown up with it... it's been like school, like my high school..." What's that song called? Indeed, La Rosa de los Vientos th-cam.com/video/pW-Njfe6zcg/w-d-xo.html. Thank you, Juan Antonio (RIP) and thank you Mago de Oz.
@@WolfKain No, that's not what I mean, lineup changes are quite common, with very rare exceptions like Maiden, Metallica, AC/DC...hey! that they also underwent some change, due to different reasons, but I understand that when a band changes one of its members, they look for a replacement to try to improve or, at least, maintain the same musical level. In this case my comment went the other way, I was just trying to explain what Mago de Oz means, and has meant (also the radio show La Rosa de los Vientos) in my life, regardless of the formation of Mago each moment.
Such nice surprise seeing this here, great job with the editing, guys!

'Si te vas (If you go)' th-cam.com/video/fJ5CN04CvxM/w-d-xo.html
'Nana triste (Cruel lullaby)' th-cam.com/video/uKhnwdijf-8/w-d-xo.html
In the second song, Roberto begins by telling the audience: 'With this song, I would like to hurt your feelings. Because what good is a philosopher who doesn't hurt anyone's feelings?'
Here I leave the lyrics of 'Nana cruel' translated into English:
go to sleep
That you are already safe from everything
The sun has gone excited
it went well
this sunset
go to sleep
What am I going to sing to you
Such a cruel lullaby
Like reality:
Once upon a time
a humanity
I what, what I thought...
I who firmly believed in love
Today I know that no, that it doesn't matter anymore
And that you have to find another reason for life
And I look in the colors of the sunset
and I can't find it
I who spent my nights in negotiation...
I'm waiting for you
I, who made every second another better world...
I'm waiting for you
I, who watched the whole nights...
I who, I would like to be able to tell you
That life is out there and there are only people
that I would like to understand you
And hug you and cheer you up
and help you always
I, who studied the human being, tell you
No
I don't expect anything anymore
I, who tried to understand his motives...
No
I don't expect anything anymore
I, who would like to meet you...
I what, what I thought...
I firmly believed in love...
Nope
Today I know that no, that it doesn't matter anymore
And that you have to find another reason for life
And I look in the colors of the sunset
and I can't find it
sleep, that out there
There are only monsters, there are only people
What buys you and what sells you
That he hates you and that he lies to you
That steals, that kills you
That rapes you and that you don't feel anything
Go to sleep, the sun has already gone
What did I have to do, she said, and left
And she promised to return at dawn
Some of the albums of wizard of oz comes with a story and every chapter it's a song.
This has to be the best reaction video about anything ever in youtube.

Grande el grupo español MAGO DE OZ
You must see live ! It's another level
That flute sounds to beautiful for no reason
OMG i love this
Reading lyrics from Mägo de Oz with Nightwish’s Greatest Show on Earth music!! AMAZING!!! 🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼
La mejor reacción a ésta canción
If Mägo de Oz were a band from the USA or UK it would have been considered one of the best, if not the best music band of all time.
Uffff.... so many things to say about this song... but I prefer not to say it so as not to hurt sensibilities.
I've grown up with it... it's been like school, like my high school..."
What's that song called? Indeed, La Rosa de los Vientos

Thank you, Juan Antonio (RIP) and thank you Mago de Oz.
Yeah, I hear a lot of people say they prefer the older version and singer, lots of history with a band like this ❤️✊🤘
@@WolfKain No, that's not what I mean, lineup changes are quite common, with very rare exceptions like Maiden, Metallica, AC/DC...hey! that they also underwent some change, due to different reasons, but I understand that when a band changes one of its members, they look for a replacement to try to improve or, at least, maintain the same musical level. In this case my comment went the other way, I was just trying to explain what Mago de Oz means, and has meant (also the radio show La Rosa de los Vientos) in my life, regardless of the formation of Mago each moment.
Gracias, gracias, gracias.. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You should react to the live in Mexico, is way more deep and epic than the recording🔝
