Sorry, a bit off-topic, but recently I learned VirtualBox can be run with KVM as a backend. Do you know if it would be any better that way? (also depending less on Oracle is a good thing). CSI isn't going to change your mind and it's in it's infancy and I don't think most of it is forensics. Your idea of computer security, is often used interchangeable, it's not. Computer security and ethical hacking is, pre-crime, Digital Forensics is post-crime. They're very different. You need to come away from Linux, although there is a distro CAINE Linux, which is ropey at best. Professional forensics, Autopsy, FTK imager, you can get them free. If you think of digital forensics, think normal forensics, it's the same, just with digital devices, triage, farady bags are all used. You never get it, from people who think forensics is security. I think there's an overlap, but also opposites. With phones, in England, they use "chip off method", smartphones are the most difficult to do, then you need special equipment.

yeah, I thought they ran out of locations like CSI:Miami, CSI:NY. Actually there was a CSI:Cyber on TV about ten years ago. This would fit!
