    Yes there are definite differences in cheaper plates and more costly ones! The cheaper ones sometimes are not as deeply etched as their more expensive counterparts. This can make picking up the image extremely difficult.

    When using gel stamping polish I find that if u place dots instead of a line it works better n also flash curing before stamping it stops it from smudging. 😂And I like your ideal on using the metal cups with cotton balls.

      Flash curing works best for me as well! And I do mean FLASH curing…I basically run my hand head flashlight over top of the stamping head.

    Stamping has a definite learning curve, use light pressure, on the plate and again on the nail roll slightly. Moyra plates and polishes are one of my favs. Gel stamping when using pigments or chromes. I have been wanting to try clear Jelly which is Canadian. Nail art polish, the thin brush ones, they work well. Some bulk or discount stores sell them super cheap and the white is bomb!

    Yes who makes the plate does make a difference. I have moyra, maniology, born pretty, moyou, clear jelly stamper plates.

    I love stamping, don't 2 bad at it. Not done layering yet. When I first started stamping I would watch moon baby nails as she does a lot of stamping, I learnt a awful lot watching her. Loved watching you learning to stamping, I agree with you about the polishes. I use moyou London stamping polish & kads💕

    I love using gel because there is no harsh odor like stamping polish. I also flash cure for about five seconds after I stamp the image so it doesn’t run and then put it on the nail.

    Fun video! Just to add to the great advice you were given - when scraping a large/wide image - it's easier to use a stiffer scraper (a store gift card is a good option) and change the angle you scrape at. I holding the scraper flatter - as opposed to scraping at a perpendicular (90 degree) angle from the plate. You want to be careful that you aren't "digging into" the image. Also some people find success applying the polish to the plate by brushing in one direction and scraping in the opposite direction. When scraping an image with straight lines - it's often easier to scrape/pick up the image from the side, so you are rolling over the narrower side -- as opposed to scraping from the bottom to the top (scraping the longer side). You also want to make sure you aren't in a cold room - that can also make the polish dry faster. Finally - you can also try out different stampers. I prefer the softer, wider "monocle style" stamps - while other people prefer the rectangular "ice cube" style stampers. Anyway - as you said - it really comes down to practicing to figure out what works best for *YOU*. People have their own preferences that work best for them.

    I really need to try my normal nail polishes for stamping as I have 2 drawers full. Some of the colours are amazing and I’d love to see if they work. I don’t get why they make what should be full cover images so small, like the tartan pattern one you used. Could you imagine trying to fill in the rest of the nail and line it up. Nightmare. Great job hun ❤️🇦🇺

    Yes stamping plates make a difference if they are not etched well they won't pick up stamping isn't easy it may take a while to get the hang of it keep at it plus because you have top coated you can remove the image 😉 I do have a stamping video in all video's description box if you are having any trouble. it took me a while to get the hang of it but you will get there I am sure 👍

    I use stamping gel because I can't work fast enough to use the regular stamping polishes. I need that extra time because I shake too much and have to take my time. I've noticed that, with the gels, you only need the smallest amount and let the gel settle into the image before picking it up. Also, use less pressure, scrape at an angle and roll the stamper from side to side when laying the image on to the nail, don't press it directly down. You actually did REALLY good. You should've seen my first time stamping. It was hideous. 😂

    Yes plates do make a difference. There are plenty crappy not well etched plates. Also different stampers sometimes work with a crap plate. The standing gel also you need a lot less than the polish. 😉

    Stamping plates do make a difference the deeper the etching the better A few tips for gel stamping. You don't have to rush with it and ur also pressing down a little to much when placing it on the nail that's why it's coming out blurred also you don't have to put a lot of product down because it doesn't dry unless cured you can spread it around a little goes a long way hope this helps 🖤🖤

      I have heard the same thing that the better ones have better etching. But I have also heard that the right stamper can make a difference as well. And I've also heard that depending on the image you could need a more firm or more flexible scraper

    • @Snail_Nailz
      @Snail_Nailz 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@cassybucceri276 Yes - the stamper makes a huge difference when using gel! My best one is the squishy marshmallow head from CJS…the clear (firmer) heads don’t work at all.

    I love gel stamping polish, you can add glitter, chrome, etc over the stamped gel image.
    Remember, a gel product does not air dry

  • @Boujee_Nailz
    @Boujee_Nailz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yes plates do make a difference as well. Due to how etched the design is can make a huge difference on how the polish will seep in the image and the jelly stamp grabs it. I been wanting try stamping gel cause I'm horrible at stamping lol I'm not fast enough lol 😅 🙃

  • @laurieb1127
    @laurieb1127 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    With gel stamping polish, you need a SMALL amount. You don't have to rush with a gel stamping polish. It also should sit for a minute to soak into the plate, and let it sit on the stamper head before stamping onto the nail

    I’ve found regular stamping polish much easier than the gel ones. I find that with the gel ones the patterns/ lines never come out clean. As whereas with regular polish it’s much clearer. I have the Pinpai polishes and some Born Pretty ones ☺️ a lot of people I’ve spoken to say the same about the gel ones, the idea of them is great and having more time to work with them but they just don’t execute as well unfortunately! Stamping is good fun though 🙌🏻

    Can you do this over a glossy coat too? Or would it be better to stamp over a matte coat and then go over the stamps with a glossy coat?

    • @BlueRoseNails
      @BlueRoseNails  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey hun,
      If you stamp over a gloss topcaot, you should buff the nail before you stamp on it. This way, your stamping polishes can grip it as well as your topcaot to seal the stamping polish in. That's why I prefer to stamp over a Matte Top Coat so you don't have to buff the nail. You can just stamp and then seal it with your topcaot of choice. Thank you for watching, hugs 💙🤗
