6.5 win total is laughable. The Raiders QB situation may be up in the air but it's still improved from last year. Not to mention the HC/roster upgrade. We're winning 9 games minimum.
We played A LOT of backup QBs last year late. We lost against Tua, Minshew, Dobbs and Mahomes, then beat Mahomes once. Other than that we played DeVito, Stidham, Zach Wilson and the Chargers guy. We beat up teams with bad QB play, which is a good thing. But it’s the minimum. It doesn’t really show how any of those games go with starting level QB play.

The stability carrying over from last year is really going to help this team. HC and DC along with most of the roster is returning. Expect some internal improvements from Tucker and Mayer to go along with new additions Bowers and Minshew on the offensive side. Minshew while not a big upgrade is definitely more than a slight upgrade as he can actually evade pressure unlike the statues of last year. He's not going to go an entire half without a completion either. While the OL is still suspect at both guard spots, its a deeper group than last year as DJ Glaze looked more like someone who can steal someones job by seasons end instead of a long term project guy. JPJ should improve one of the guard spots once he gets up to speed. The OL's ability to open the run game is the key for this team. Jacobs had no burst or top end speed what so ever and danced at the line instead of attacking the hole. White is different runner, he's a one cut and head north/south runner. He doesnt have the dancing ability of Jacobs, but he's faster and has better burst at the point of attack. The depth behind him however is pretty underwhelming. Mattison is lucky to have a roster spot, while Abdulah is more of a third down back. Luabe is the wild card that could surprise. RB is the weak spot of this team, that why the OL helping them out is key. on the defensive side the defense took a major step up when Pierce took over and they havent looked back. Like the offense they return just about everyone while adding a wreaking ball at DT in Wilkins. Koonce broke out in the second half and he looks to be the real deal, like others he needed McDaniels of his way to bloom. Bookending Crosby and Koonce to go along with Wilkins gives them big time playmaking ability up front. The real question is can Spilane and Jones be the playmakers they were last season or was that just a hot streak? they are thin at DB and Bennet is still unproven, but the Safety paly of Moering/Epps was solid. The key for the defense is getting consistent pressure with the front 4 allowing the Raiders to blitz less frequently and go after the football. Despite the fact they have the 8th toughest schedule this year, this team looks to at least repeat their 8-9 record of a year ago as a floor and could sneak into the playoffs with 10 wins. The players are all in for Pierce after running McDaniles out of town. They longed for stability and they finally got it. Pierce over McDaniels is good for at least one game and Minshew over JimmyG/rookie AOC is also gives them +1 to the win column. So even if they regress to 6 wins the +2 they get from Pierce/Minshew gets them back to 8 wins. Book it, thats whats up. To all those "experts" especially Pete Prisco (ranking the Raiders at #31), believe you me, I called my shot, I'll be back at seasons end to bring the receipts and never let you guys live it down how bad you are at your job. LFG!
First games against the chargers and the chiefs, the Vikings and the lions were very winnable games. And the bears should have been a win on paper. Now all they needed was two more wins and raiders are in the playoffs, take your pick on which ones you want but this team is a lot better than the record says they are. I expect AOC to take a huge step forward considering that he went through a coaching change mid-season, did not get a proper preseason, and still ended up as the 2nd best rookie QB behind Stroud after playing 10 games. Even if he doesn’t start, Minshew is an upgrade over Jimmy G and is an above average starter. I also see the defense being just as productive (maybe a little better) as they did on the second-half of the season, and the offense being more dynamic with Brock Bowers in the mix. Not saying the Raiders will blow everyone’s expectations, but people are giving them way too little credit.

Just by virtue of not having Josh McDaniels as HC this team is going to be far better on offense. Too many games that he coached were close winnable games lost by bad decisions. Just by virtue of not having Josh McDaniels as HC this team is going to be far better on offense. Too many games that he coached were close winnable games lost by bad decisions.
In general, I would say that the Raiders improved as a team and have the best overall roster I've seen in years.
