Grammy's deciding body really doesn't know what they're doing. Two decades in and she still don't have an award. Nominations is not enough to recognize her contributions, work and passion for music. Beats me, why do people who can't sing even half as good as her have rewards and she don't. Maybe in another lifetime Sara, when everybody can hear what your heart is saying, till then, you will always be one of the unrecognized bests.
The dichotomy is that she is very highly rated but still has no awards to represent her success. It’s a travesty, but her career and music will stand the rest of time when those around her fall by the wayside

This touched my heart and soul. Survivor of domestic violence, I jumped with my babies over 25 years ago and still have the emotional scars. I have finally found someone who is my safe place to land.
I am a survivor of domestic violence, and left 1 year ago in a minivan with almost nothing... This song touched me more than I can say. I held my 4 babies tight and jumped from that window, and this song embodies the fear and the freedom, all at once. Thank you so much for this.

I married at age 20 it ended up being a very abusive marriage in every way I almost had a mental break down I was able to get out of the house with some help of my Dr who noticed what was happening . I was 25 when I got out I have suffered ptsd for years I have not even dated in 39 years fear of going thru it again . I want to say how much this song has helped me and encouraged me to take a leap of faith and I'd find a safe place to land . Thank you Sara and John for this song and how it gives ones like me to keep going . God bless .

I do immigrant justice work full time, and I knew by the time the first chorus ended that this was about immigrants on the border and I LOST IT. I'm a puddle of tears. When John sang "imagine being in a building on fire and told to stand still." That's EXACTLY what we're doing to people seeking refuge. We must and can do better.

It is a good metaphor for refugees, but it also quite literally refers to those (mostly immigrants) who died in the Grenfell Tower fire in London a couple years ago.

When I heard “Love Song” for the first time about 10 years ago, I rushed home and started to try to find out who the artist was.
She was different.
She was a natural.
She was Sara Bareilles.
She is one of the finest musicians that I have ever heard! Also, even if it is a song that she wrote.. she never steps over a duet. I love her.
I remember the old video of the Everly Brothers singing Mark Knopfler's "Why Worry," with MK ( and many others ) backing them up. MK looked like it was his greatest honor.

This song reminds me of the pain and the suffer that Syrian people have to walk through, the dark nights, the boats sinking, it's a terrifying situation I hope no one had experience. Keep refuges in your prayers, cause our "fair" world failed them so many times.
There is something so reassuring about John and Sara's voices. This song is like a lullaby to one's inner child... perhaps I'm connecting to it more because it brings me peace after the last couple weeks.

I cannot explain the tears. Sara Bareilles has always been able to write to the parts of me that I don't like to admit that exist. It speaks to me in ways that I wish it didn't. It hits me in the centre, when I have become so used to dancing around the subject in my own mind. It hurts in ways I try to pretend I don't hurt.

Just found this song. My dad played it for me. 3 and a half years ago I left an emotionally and verbally abusive marriage. I grabbed my 2 kids, left all our worldly possessions behind, and took a leap of faith. Luckily my family was there to be my safe place to land. I will never forget that fear and it is so hard to put into words. THIS song described that day perfectly. Today I couldn't be happier. The sun always comes up eventually.

I thank my ex boyfriend who still cares about me for giving me a safe place to land for now. So much for family. A total stranger I met online helped me a lot too.

I just recently heard this song for the first time, and it touched me to the depth of my heart. I am so thankful for all the times people have given me a safe place to land. Having been raised by an alcoholic father who was brutal when drunk, so many times, my sisters and I would huddle together and scream while he beat our mother. We were innocent little children who were forced to deal with grown-up issues our entire little baby lives. It was only after becoming a grandmother and witnessing the innocence of my grandson that I realized what a scared little child I was. I suspect my sisters felt the same. We were each other's very first safe place to land.

I remember when I was younger asking my mom for an iTunes gift card so I could purchase the “Little Voice” album. Bareilles captured my attention at an age in which I couldn’t even relate to and or comprehend the complexities in her writing. She is truly an incredible and inspired artist and deserves to be put on display to marvel. I’m so proud of her and so thankful she released more music.

I keep playing this over and over. It is a beautiful extension of the idea that we all must "be the change we want to see in the world." The heartbreak of separated families at the southern border was, I understand, your inspiration, but the allusions to the Titanic and especially the World Trade Center attack brought tears to my eyes. The end harmony with Sara's extended notes will raise goosebumps.

That first line hit hard. Due to my family situation I developed and lived with respiratory distress and hyperventilation syndrome until my late 40s when it was finally diagnosed. "Dark Place" is a phrase we are far too familiar with. As I made good conversation with a new friend it managed emerge. Comedic how untimely and unseasonable the notion is.
Faith and music have been my haven through powerful words. I cannot thank Sara Bareilles enough for being the wonderful and amazing human that she is.
