The Warning have been very conscious of their potential to, well, WARN people, since they were young teens. 17, 15, and 12 when this came out... They killed it. Yes, they wrote, composed, and performed it. They also worked with an outside director (the first guy we see in the video, removing his blindfold before the thought police show up). The video was nominated for many awards, and won several. I went out and bought all three of their CDs on the strength of this video. I haven't found a bad song on any of them, and the fourth album is on pre-order. As a child of the 1960s who grew up with all the greats of classic rock, blues, soul, and jazz, I'm very thrilled to have found SOME young band that gives a damn about real, raw, live rock music with a message as powerful as the beat. Rock is in good hands with The Warning.
Small correction: this IS the first time they brought us a message with the song and video. This was the title track of their first album. This is where they started!
Oh yes, i love this video, with the energy especially from Pau. That big arm drum style is just so fun! And, i love Dany's newer playing style BUT i do miss her tasty lead work. And Ale seems more energetic here. But all that said my earworms now are often from Keep Me Fed.. Or from QOTMS. Or...oh hell from any era. Like the underplayed UGH! I have to play that twice...then Dull Knives...Red Hands...
Oh good! For a dramatic video that doesn't quite match the song lyrics, check out Qué Más Quieres th-cam.com/video/1lfb-280MhU/w-d-xo.html Screenplay by Pau, co-directed by Pau. They are undeniably more experienced and polished these days, though I’m hesitant to call them "better." What I love about the old videos though is twofold: you get to see all that simmering potential (which they’ve manifestly capitalized on) and to reflect on and be amazed at what they were capable of back then. To me, the context of their ages is ALWAYS a relevant factor. I mean, even now, on the cusp of their 4th album, Ale is STILL in her teens!
i agree and to me tho the younger TW still had it, Dany had the chops, had the vocals, Ale was breaking that bass in like a wild bucking bronco, and pau was riding those fills like she was on a ride at the amusement park, they are much more polished now but folks talk about danys vocals alot back then but she was also playing the part of a crazy woman with such emotional conviction and being a little bit more raw, this song right here showed dany had really good vocals when she needed to be a bit more polish sounding, yea then and now still hard to pick which is better, least for me, serious treasured gems back in them days that still hold weight today
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED AGAIN!!! ⚡️🤟🔥
