I have been following you from Cuba since the time of COVID and that was when I started creating my first website and I changed its content several times and I learned something that is the fundamental factor of Google, for example in the Microsoft search engine I have it positioned in the number 1, however, in Google not and researching I realized that the competition's backlinks were more powerful than mine, good video that corroborates my research
Page level relevance is more important than domain level relevance. You have to have a page in order to get it indexed and subsequently ranked. Just having a domain about that topic won't get you there. And since we rank pages, not sites, i would argue that a well-optimized domain name for your topic is a page-level factor as well. The domain name is a part of each URL to get ranked, so that's very much in both camps. But then we have domain strength that comes in and clearly trumps domain relevance. Look at guest posts on a site like Forbes for an example there. However, the page-level factors must still be there in these cases (ie it has to be an article that is relevant to the query). Without that, you dont rank. So I think it's probably 1) Page Relevance first (that's not enough by itself, but it's necessary) 2) domain strength 3) page strength 4) domain relevance We just have way too many sites that rank for things that aren't tied to anything for their primary domain content. I see that you tried tying some page-level factors to the domain, but those are in fact also page level factors.
Wow, this is some real talk about domain strength! Building overall domain strength is key for SEO success. Thanks for the insights and tips on link building strategies!
No matter how great content you make, how better you optimize for search engine, if you don't have DA there's no way Google rank your page. Now it's more prominent and proven after the march update
Hi Nathan, if I start seo optimized blog posts on a newly created website then how much time will it take to rank on Google between rank 1 and 10 without any backlinks and considering my blog posts have well-written content.
Just a suggestion: In my thought, we should not use numbers in the URL. In your example blog post "Best SEO Tools for Agencies", the URL consist of year "2024" which ideally should not be used if you are planning to modify the content year after year.
So, you are saying you need a good website to rank. What happens now is someone on Reddit copies your content and pastes it into Reddit, and your website loses traffic as Google refers them to Reddit.
When I heard you speaking so confidently, I almost hit the Subscribe button. But... I have a three-month-old website with about 90 pages and only 11 backlinks (domain rating: 4 at the moment), and I am already outranking websites that have thousands of backlinks. I must have done something wrong, so I apologize.😄
Domain name affecting the ranking of your site went out in 2012. The name of your domain has ZERO impact on your ranking. The SLUG does have an impact because that is the name of the page itself but the domain name has zero impact. This is confirmed by many experts online.
It’s hard to know who to trust when it comes to SEO. One day people tell you “do this not that” then the next day someone’s saying “do that not this”. Just today Neil Patel put out a video titled “you’re wasting your time on SEO. The new approach”. Geez!
This is kind of like saying the key to being a pro athlete is to have better genes. It’s the truth but it’s not what people want to hear when it comes to what they can control. Seems like this one is also mostly out of our control. Such is life. We can focus on a small slice of it and do our best to create engagement and monetization. Best of luck all.
I agree all like domain relevance, keyword placement, etc, but Domain Authority as a score by tools like moz, afrefs, etc, is something that is easily manuplateable. What do you suggest to build domain authority (for Google) for a new website?

What if a domain name was registered 4 years ago but not much has been done with it. Does the 4 years count for anything?
Not likely. What matters is the age, size, and quality of your backlink profile
@@nathangotch Thank you for responding Nathan I do appreciate it.
Thank you Nathan 🙏
You explain it very well!
any solution for sitemap could'nt fetch error in search console ?

There are many websites with very high domain authority but they have no traffic or very low traffic. Is it still a valuable backlink?

100%, such blog posts look quite strange) especially when the title says 2024 and the URL says 2018😮
My website content is good i dont have backlink how to get them ?
Good luck. They were hard to get and even harder nowadays with AI content.
Write content that people want to link to. But again, good luck.
