Wicked content dude! just curious if you know off hand how much do you think itd be to rebuild a whole set of injectors with new nozzles?
Yeah its like 125$ for a rebuild kit for all 6 injectors from 406injectors.com. Id recommend a new set of nozzles too if your gonna give it a go.

You run any additives for fuel? Also do you have an external fuel filter? How many miles on that thing?
Stock filter no additives 350km
do you think those things could have prolonged your injectors life? I run a cat fuel filter and add archoil at every fill up..

did you ever look if there was a difference between actual and commanded rail pressure with that bad tip?
I don't think it was leaking enough to really notice. Truck wasn't having any issues keeping up with commanded rail pressure.
Ahh makes sense. I work on the ISX quite a bit at work. We’ll usually run a test that commands full rail pressure then quickly turn the truck off. Watching to see any rail decay. But the fuel system on the 5.9 and 6.7 doesn’t hold pressure at key off.
I could simulate that test by unplugging fca then shutoff truck but yeah I also noticed my truck doesn't hold pressure turned off so its not a viable test.
Hey, just concerning that slight bit of smoke at idle you're getting, I don't know the history of your truck but, what makes you rule out oil seepage past the rings? No oil consumption? How many KM's on the truck?
Truck has zero blowby and turbo isnt leaking any oil. It only smokes if I put that bad injector nozzle in.
Yep gotta be injectors or valve seals.

How did you pin point what injector was leaking?
I disconnect wire on injectors with truck running until smoke cleared up. Then swapped injector with another cyl to confirm problem followed the injector.

You can disable injectors on duramax using hp tuners so no need to disconnect wire.
I can disable injectors on my 03 cummins with a snap on tool too but not with hptuners.
