Yes you definitely can :) but I would suggest only using your sanding band or a file if you think you made the nail too thick. Usually I try to make my acrylic on my nail built up but still keeping it on the thinner side since you aren’t bonding the acrylic to a real nail. If you made the nail more on the thinner side you then wouldn’t want to file because you higher the risk of filing too much off so I think buffing is the best way to go if your nail is thin already but filing before buffing is better when it’s thick

I didn’t with this set but sometimes I do mostly when I’m working with glitter encapsulations or ombres
