    You made a really good statement that alot of people who get printers, do not realise. Make sure your table is secure. I have a pretty secure table that is low to the ground and not wobbly but even once I'm printing faster and higher prints. I can get alot of changes in my print. Alot of people are literally putting thier printers on fold up tables. That's not a proper work bench. Great point. Awesome video thumbs up.

    Do yourself a huge favor and grab a titanium heat break, a 40x40x20 winsinn hot end fan (requires 4 m3x35mm bolts), and an aluminum idler arm (I used stock spring and 2 3mm washers on the right side of the arm). This machine is excellent!

    I literally bought this machine last night and I also want to be able to donate pieces to healthcare, I was thinking the snaps to hold on their safety masks so they don't hurt their ears but Ohh wow I may be able to do the visor and that mask :) Thanks for the links I am a complete newbie to this but I wanted to expand my craft range and seemed the perfect time to learn and give back :)

    Did you add strain relief to the heated bed cable? This seems to be a major safety issue, according to a few reviews I have come across. The heated bed runs off mains voltage (which is why it heats up quickly).

    I've been trying to fig out what printer to buy. Everybody tells me to buy the Ender 3 Pro. I like this machine. It seems much better in quality. I know absolutely nothing about 3d printing. I'm a nursing home administrator and just like you want to print mask and face shields.Finding 3d printers in stock right now seems to be a challenge as well. May I ask where did you buy your machine?

    • @EricksonMachinePerformance
      @EricksonMachinePerformance  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly i did tons of research. I'm my opinion this is the best 3d print for under $500. Its huge build volume, silent drivers, direct drive titan style extruder, and most importantly prints PERFECTLY out of the box. For the Ender to print half as good as this printer You'd have to invest a good amount of money and upgrades. In my opinion there's no comparison and if you look this printer has been touted as the best sub $500 printer and I completely agree and I've got probably close to 2000 hours combined on my 2 machines. And they've been flawless

    • @EricksonMachinePerformance

      Every printer that is mass producted has problems. I have used 2 of these printers with a combined over 3000hrs of printing on them. With no major issues. I also have friends that recommended this printer to me with thousands of hours printing. I can only it share the experience I've had and I have seen personally. More people post about issues they're having rather than how perfect there printer is printing. I know many more people that have had great experiences rather then issues. Just my 2 cents

I'm on most of the Facebook groups for the printer and they are helpful. There's also groups that are problem problem related groups so if you're looking at them the whole reason you'd be posting theirs if you have an issue.

Everyone who has a Sidewinder that's running great is talking about it in more generalized 3D printing circles, because at the end of the day sharing what you made is more important than what you made it on.

  • @robertavery8897
    @robertavery8897 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Good thinking. You did the right choice. I have learned over time. Buy what you need ... to buy a printer and then decide how to upgrade printer will take you down the rabbit hole. By the time I tried making modes to my Cr-10s pro ... I wound more cost into the printer than just buy a new printer. This has been my experience but the printer I modified just never performed into the machine you have. Good thing ... I bought one myself. Great machine. Take care.

    best choise for under 1000,- i know is round 400,- but beats all in that range. 2 things tho you have 2 print first as an upgrade. 1 cable relief for for the bed and 1 for the 20 pin ribbon cable

    • @EricksonMachinePerformance
      @EricksonMachinePerformance  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont disagree BUT I also feel alot of the 20 pin issues are from improper instalation. I printer over 1000 hrs with my first X1 with ZERO issues and the only upgrade was the fan. AND LOOKING back now at testing I have done the fan I upgraded to was worse then the original 🤣

      Same exact thing here, I just got off the phone with Amazon, they refunded the money and I am going to order another one. I love the printer, but mine burnt up pretty bad. All the wires were burnt under the hotend cover to the board. If the next one burns up I am going to rethink this. I don't trust it 100% right now. No way am I going to leave it overnight for a while. Good luck, keep an eye on it. Other than that it is awesome...
