Memorial is a great place to live provided you can afford to live there. Then there's the issue of property taxes. Harris just got a majority democratic commissioner's court with one lone Republican. When the 2020 census was completed thr dems deliberately gendered the precincts to get the majority so they could raise taxes. Harris county property taxes are 1.1% higher than the national average which means more expensive house payments. I don't mind paying my fair share of taxes but when the county judge awarded an $11m contra for covid that turned out to have nothing to do with covid but everything to do with voter harvesting. The one man company that was awarded this contract was a former Clinton operative and she was the only one on staff. To make matters worse there was a competitive bidding process and Hidalgo and members of her senior staff conspired to keep The University of Texas Health Science Center out of the running. Why? They knew this money had nothing to do with health. So if you want to move to Harris county pleased vote Republican otherwise your dream home in Memorial will be a money pit.

Growing up on the other side of I10 we all knew all the rich kids grew up on memorial. Beautiful and safe yet most people can’t afford it.

That's why Katy is so desirable, these prices for older homes in heavy traffic areas are outrageous!
Except no one wants to live in Katy.
Try living in a nice area around Hot Springs, Arkansas, and you will never want to set foot anywhere south of there ever ever again.
