    It looks to me you have got a good steady hand-I can tell after watching the very first steps you filmed, unattaching the base and handles as cleanly and accurately as you did with that saw from a standing position on an uneven lawn or backyard- yes, I can see already you are worth the time and attention-nice job!

    Yes this is true for a lot of people. But not everyone lives in a city or town and the options my be limited to far less than you or i have access to. It is possible to find all these items locally in a scrap yard and a trash dump. It is meant to inspire one to fabricate and build a compressor with what items that are available with a little imagination it's very doable.

    Those refrigerator compressors depend on lubricant from refrigerant. Running just air through that thing will burn up in a few months or less. Good concept but it needs some way for the compressor to cycle oil through it that's separated from the water that accumulates inside the tank! Also you may want to put a drain plug at the bottom to drain the water!

    Project number 3, the baby boom box, I did this as a kid with an old briefcase. In my project, it was a portable pack for my CB. It had the speaker and CB radio inside with all the cordage and some other accessories. I had two cars I used and people were stealing rigs so now I had a way to easily set up and switch between cars, I just kept an antenna on each car and took the case in the house at night where I had a third antenna (on the roof) and a power pack…

    Your end products and process documentation look great. My issue is my lack of time to discern what I might be about to watch. 2+ hours is a long time and since I can;t find an end point for each product in this video, it is tough to skip ahead so I can see the end result firsst OR guess what it is you're making (without a constant title at the bottom, or somewhere). I would tend to be a follower IF this were 5 separate videos (rather than one long single video) with each video having a descriptive title as opposed to 5 unbelievable projects. I do see the expanded description but that too is not in keeping with the "find out fast" climate of today's world. Keep it up tho! 302,000 Subscribers!!! I agree you are doing some great work.

    Looks good , my only concern was after sourcing out the necessary parts along with a functional fridge compressor from the neighbor's yard sale along with a 50 foot air hose still in the wrapper . It came to my attention that the local Hardware store had much bigger cylinder along with a 5 year warranty for $50 dollars less then building one from scratch with available scrap parts.

    Wow I can't believe that you used a propane gas tank and modified it into a pressure tool Even with wheels that was most impressive
    And then taking the hydraulic jack and modifying it into a hydraulic press that was awesome and I couldn't believe the strength that it has
    Now you're creating a outside barbecue grill this thing is badass how did you learn all this did you learn it from your family or you just know what's going on in your mind It's just amazing and I noticed that you have plenty of tools that's one thing to be able to do this to have nice tools I mean expensive tools and material to create all this well done 👍🤗

    Cute idea, but that compressor is only going to run for a few minutes once it expells all of the oil in it. Especially since it doesn't have any refrigerant to keep it cool.

    • @dc6233
      @dc6233 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Refrigerant doesn't keep it cool, it actually adds heat; The refrigerant oils keep it cool. As long as he didn't dump out all the oil and doesn't tip it past the exit port, it may last longer than many think. When refrigerators develop a leak and lose the refrigerant, the motor still runs, but there is no liquid to turn into a high pressure high temperature gas, cooled in a condenser and forced thru a metering device which is what removes the heat from a fridge. Then the leak or blockage is fixed and the system is recharged.

    I like your enthusiasm. I liked and scribed you. If I could add a little safety tip, I'd say buy two 1/2"npt. welded Bonnie flanges @$9.49 each. Cut them in, practice on scrap with same wall thicknesses, and make your weld look exactly like the existing welds, hot and fast.
    Those little tanks flex a lot when you're working it hard. Fat welds cause cracks.

  • @douglasbranham6099
    @douglasbranham6099 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    You need to add a water condensate drain on the bottom. Water left inside will cause corrosion and a failure of the tank. A failure will make the tank into a rocket which can do extensive damage and even kill someone.

    Ingenious and resourceful; some nice ideas. On the mini-compressor, surely stick welding better (for some penetration), no drain valve for condensed water?, capacity of tank so small means not much practical use, but nice job - not sure how long the fridge pump will last running dry?? Maybe update us all on that. Nice job, but think I'd be pressure testing that at 8bar under some, no lots, of sandbags before using it.
