I unfortunately no longer have that kit, but have since gotten a second one, and this time around put it together by myself. Didn’t glue anything together aside from the hip/thigh joints to make those more secure. After doing that, I love this kit more
When I was the younger, I always thought the vents on the original Wing Zero's wings looked kinda liked a surprised face, so I honestly kinda prefer this version.
Can't wait to get this for christmas to replace my HG 1/144 Wing Proto Zero. one shoulder joint on my HG 1/144 Proto Zero refuses to stay in the socket, so I'm glad to be getting a bigger and more detailed model. I may just upload a timelapse video of me building it.
One of the barrels on mine almost got lost also. It got detached from the tree without me noticing it when I first remove the trees from their packaging. Luckily, it only fell inside the box and not on the floor, where I might not see it again.
Been wishing there were more kits for the original TV versions of the Wing Suits. Like a Real Grade TV Wing Zero would be nice or an MG Wing Zero using parts from the Proto Zero but with new parts and runners.
Excellent review as always Robert. This kit looks so sleek and detailed. Coming from me, that's saying something. I've never understood what makes the zero so popular. My favorite wing Gundam has always been the original.
It's no surprise that it's overwhelmingly positive verdict but Robert I know you're usually used to using the foil stickers provided but considering that all the clear parts on this kit come moulded in clear green why on Earth would you cover them up with the stickers? You did a bad job applying them on the forehead camera as you might as well just remove it and it will look great since it's a clear green piece.
Overall I am very satisfied with this kit. If they don't release a proper anime version then I will buy a second proto just for the bird mode. If they release the proper anime version- I am buying that for the bird mode :p I highly recommend this kit for the build quality. I can't wait to get started painting.

No bird/jet mode, but it could cover its body with the two larger wings and go into a sort of high speed flight mode while the two smaller wings acting as the main wings.
So I build the mobile suit and I am having some problems with it's legs. Whenever I am trying to pose it, the legs just fall off like nothing. I'm wondering if it's only just my kit but it's getting really annoying and making me hate the legs >:( Everything so far is great but does anyone have a solution for the leg to actually stick to the waist and not fall off? Thanks!
TaurusOxford There's a sticker provided to maximize the light reflected on it. Also to hide the rectangular holes that are visible through the green piece. Not necessary to put on though.
Because in the Endless Waltz: Glory of Losers manga they retconned away the Okawara designs in favor of the Katoki ones, but they included the Okawara Wing Zero as the "Prototype" for the EW Wing Zero. All these EW kits are under the "Glory of Losers" subtitle.
Rrobbert, if you put the shield's yellow fins into the yellow parts in the rifles, they are more secure and more straight.

The best Neo Bird mode is the Robot Damashii Wing Gundam version.
I'd say it's between that and the Dynasty Warriors Gundam version.

I never put on the stickers for the head Camera Scanners, I prefer to paint those myself, same with the green part of the shield.
