I've been looking at dozens of metronome explanation channels, BUT, this guy was the absolute first with whom I could sync up my very cheap Google Play app (Tempo Lite) to him exact enough for government work. Whoa...even I could do it!
Hi Rotem! I know most people would think this is a waste of time because it is not easy, but I am happy that you are my mentor at GMI as nothing good comes without hard work.
Gracie, nice to see you at Rotem's channel, You both the most amazing musicians and teachers. The way you explained the circle of 5th is so intelligent and awesome. Thanks again.
Very inspiring lesson, my brother, love the way you convey things! You're a genuinely nice person and your playing is always extremely tasty & musical, keep it up! 🎲💥
Hope you're doing great and staying healthy during these crazy times. I have a quick question/request if you don't mind: You seem to use it a lot and I know there are a lot of information out there but maybe you could do a video on how do you approach and use Konnakol in everyday playing and composing? That would be awesome! Thanks for yet another great lesson!
Hey Rotem, you’re a magician. I just had a few questions, how do you approach composing and arranging your originals? Also how do you arrange so great covers like Beautiful and blackbird? It would help a lot if you could answer! Thank you for being so awesome!!
Rotem, marvelous marvelous video. Something so so so deeply fundamental. There is no musicality without appopiate rhytmic execuition. Two questions: In quarantine times, it is not so easy to get the "musical context". Are backing tracks a good option to put this in practice? Second, always keep it at 50 bpm or how do you increase tempo? To gain speed and dexterity Big hug!
Hi! Thanks! So yea, start w the tracks. We're just trying to get as close as we can to "real" playing. And yes - start around 50 and go up & down. So 20bpm would also be tricky - that's a good ex. And go up for speed and accuracy.
hello Rotem! Thank you for the videos. I learn a lot. One question though. What is the key or scale you play at the beginning of the video? I want to play it but I am not good at detecting the key or changing chords. Thank you and have a good day!!
I can feel that this will take me quite some time to learn. I think your exercise seems to be like a martial arts practice. What words are you using? I've never heard someone count like that before.
Hey man, so I notice you do a lot of “subscribe for more” kinda things in the middle of your videos and (though I might not make videos) that tends to deter people from subbing, I would say the best thing that you can do is put some kind of text on the screen in one of the corners if you would like to say something like that. It tends to screw up the flow of the video and doesn’t make it appealing for people who are already subscribed to you. Like your video editing chops have gotten better but I do think there are a few things you need to work on. Of course I mean that in the nicest way possible, I know you’re still starting out and I think there’s a lot of potential for you to grow if you get the habits of what works and what doesn’t and particular situations on TH-cam. But if you are going to ask people to subscribe maybe say that at the start and the end of the video instead of sporadically placing it throughout. Anyways cheers.
Hi! Thanks so much for this. Yea, I'm trying to figure it out.... I got some advice that I should mention it so I really appreciate this. Ill adjust & please let me know if it feels better
@@RotemSivanGuitar Probably a matter of opinion, I'd say. :) I find it really funny the way you "sneak" the call to action into your videos. :) thank you for these awesome videos, they inspire me a lot!
This channel is pure gold. There are so many guitar channels on youtube, but this is the only one you need
Oh wow! 🙏
I approve this message!
agreeeeeeee
Before I pick up my guitar in the morning I put Rotem on and everything is smooth sailing after that:))

Love it!! Man, we just need to lock into the grove. We can all do it (if we really want to)
This is very hard for me to do on guitar, but it is so very cool! Thank You very much for your videos!! It is super enjoyable, inspiring and useful!!
“Make the metronome sound good” changed my playing a lot already and I’m not noodling without purpose
thank you so much, yet helpful for me
two glasses of wine deep and staring into Rotem's eyes while he sings the rhythms at 5:54... intense. We went on a journey together.
Very good lesson
I was first introduced to this exercise by Rotem a couple years ago. Definitely valuable. SUBDIVISIONS!
:)
You truly are a hero sir
❤️❤️❤️
that vintage watch!
Thanks man!! Toda :)

Thanks paul! :)
Awesome. Love to see more about rhythm.
Will do!
Great lesson!
Nice konnakol!
Really great lesson. Thank you. Can you spell out what you say for 32nd notes
Sing 5:54
One note 2:05
Scale 8:05
Make the metronome sound good.. best advice!

Thanks! I'll try!
Great lesson!! Tuplets get easily overlooked by teachers...
Thanks! Yea, it's a good one to practice
Killer exercises!
Thanks!
That 3/4 rhythm is so hard!
W practice it gets easy

Sure! I'll do that!
Mil gracias maestro

Pat Mentheny talks about how you have to learn to play behind the beat, on top of the beat and ahead of the beat? How do we practcie that

Great info, what is triplet???? Is it 3 notes per quarter note??? How to play triplet in 16th note , will be more fast do let me know
Also I practice to a real drum beat rather than metronome......is there a difference? For me the drums make it much easier to feel the beat.
How would you start picking the different patterns??
I usually practice these w alternate picking so I would try both down / up.
hello Rotem! Thank you for the videos. I learn a lot. One question though. What is the key or scale you play at the beginning of the video? I want to play it but I am not good at detecting the key or changing chords. Thank you and have a good day!!
It's not one scale actuality..

Its a south Indian tradition
@@RotemSivanGuitar Very cool. I imagine then you learned that while you were there learning from the percussion master?
Great video - really clear - except I'm struggling with the 1/4 note triplet feel - are you dropping the 2nd or 3rd subdivision of the triplet?
What do you mean exactly when you say drop ?
@@RotemSivanGuitar so triplet is 1 and ah 2 and ah etc. Is the quarter note feel 1 and (ah is not played)?
@@RotemSivanGuitar Sorry - my question wasn't clear! How do you count the 1/4 note triplet feel?
actually that rhythm is not quarternote triplets. They are dotted 8th notes.....
how was that triplets
cross rhythm confusing
