I did my first show last week. This advice is gold. I followed everything to a T and did 15k in sales at a small sports show. Priced really competitive. My only competition was 20+% over market. Be ready to buy/sell/trade. It was a blast.
love the videos! I was going to say hi at the dallas con but you seemed like u were having a bad day so didnt want to bother ya lol. at least when I saw ya
Best fried chicken is Dallas is Mike’s Chicken btw. I personally only get the tenders, but hands down the best fried chicken I’ve ever had period. Spicy tenders + gravy to dip in is my usual (I’m a local).
I've recently been seeing a bunch of them and see they're quite popular. I've always worried some customers might not want the camera but I guess if it's a thing I ask about then turn on or off it could work. I'll definitely think about it
@@KetchumAllCollectibles you can always have the camera pointed at chest level and lower that way you just see the cards. Could also have multiple cameras one on you and one that kinda looks over your table birds eye like. That way you can show full transaction if customer is willing and if not you can just show the camera showing just the hands on deal.
@@KetchumAllCollectibles looking forward to it if you end up doing it. Always a good way to show people who may be shy on how con transactions work in real time. From both sides too, shows different ways to barter prices and how people may come up and see a price that is a great price and won't even mention a discount. Best stuff to see is trades going down as that stuff always seems to hit that nostalgic feeling we had as kids trading under the jungle gym lol
Love the vendor hustle. We all know you weren't buying hats at 65 and selling at 70 lol. Let's not talk about why cash gets better rates, at least not in front of the IRS. Pay your taxes. Good info
Do you drive to conventions? I’m genuinely scared to bring tons of packs with me on an airplane from the horror stories I’ve seen of TSA opening up the packs.
They used to look at my slabs every time and have wiped down my scale a few times lol but never any horror stories. Lately they don't even check most the time
Rule of thumb for brisket in Texas, if you were actually able to get some brisket then most likely it won’t be the best. The best brisket requires extra long lines around the block and probably for an hour or two. No line……Don’t bother.
F that. J Bar M was amazing no real wait. Some of those top rankings 5 hour waits probably just bought then the quality goes down price goes up to milk the timmies . 🚀
@@KetchumAllCollectibles in my 2 and half years here in Texas I disagree. J bar m and Terry blacks among others are chain restaurants. I’ve had them and they are good and then you wait in line and you realize what the hype was more than worth it (probably once a year though 😆) Until you are willing to wait in line for comparably priced brisket anyway for a life changing brisket experience you will never really have real Texas brisket 🤷🏻♂️
@BasicTrainer1 I'll have to try it once some day but cac weekends too tough. Some summer long rv trip it'll work well. I'll get to where I can make better though 🙏
Totally using "I'm going to go over this presentation mullet style" for my next work meeting. That's an all-timer
🤣
Always love these videos, appreciate the effort and documentation to put these together.

How was the one piece at the event?
Mine all sold I think it was selling pretty well overall
I’ll Get my name on that playmat soon 🤫
Dan style CAC recaps is peak Pokémon 🤌🤌🤌🤌😂 🏆🏆🏆
🙏
Gotta love the same vendors at the same convention every year who over price cards and ...have the same cards in the case 😅
😆
for pricing, do you price cards you sell between auction price and buy it now price or closer to one or the other?
Kinda by feel but for cons generally closer to last sold. Priced to sell

I've flown every time, sometimes ship some stuff down but mostly in carry on. I never check bags and I'd be more afraid for that
First… again
🏆
+1 on Pencan Lodge being superior to Terry Black's!
J Bar Ms in Houston though even better 🚀
Picarrones 🤣
I didn't say that did I lol. Chicaronnes

Lmao
those fried pork skins are pronounced chee-cha-roe-nes. Delicious but not great on the ol' arteries, that's a problem for future me though
I may or may not have just had a bowl of pork cracklins
Squeeze a little lime juice on them next time if haven't done so@@KetchumAllCollectibles
It's pronounced as "peh-con" not "pee-can"
Lol I was actually having this conversation down in Dallas with a few different people
Know your getting to old when your complaining about loud music.
😆 for sure but it's the wooorsstt
