Programmes like this would have been unmissable at the time but now they are so dated they would never be shown again and are only of interest to those in the show or those living there. I'm now certain I will not be splashing out £13/4 odd for a DVD-R.
It would appear that your view thankfully was in the minority! Speaking as the cameraman to the Internationally award-winning series for 20 years, it became ITV’s most popular, longest running and highest rating series of all time. We used to attract 12-14+ million viewers regularly. It was a great privilege to turn my hobby as a photographer into a life-long career, meeting fabulous people, crafts etc, all with a wonderful community spirit, something we need to restore and protect!
Great series, still watching in 2024.
A work of art!
Great show
Country ways is the only ways.
The " modern " version of this is with Reverend Peter Owen Jones.
Wow a short segment on Breaky Bottom vineyard from 18:17
Glynde Forge in the days long before Terry the master Longbow archer took it over.
3 Feudal lords & estates within 5 miles of each other.
A Much kinder home than the barbarity of Snowdonia.
Yet Sussex East,West and betwixt is built on beyond belief.
