I can’t find anything else on old time radio that comes close to Jack Benny. I listened to all the Edgar Bergen shows I could find. Some great moments but outdated material.
The spoofs of Fred Allen's program are always highlights. I have a vinyl album featuring one of Jack's spoofs of Allen's Alley called "Benny's Boulevard". Phil's a natural as the southern fire eater (Senator Claghorne impression). Dennis gets to display his mimic skills as Ajax Cassidy and Titus Moody (The 2 headed man). Mary portrays Portland. Jack, of course, is Fred. Strangely enough there wasn't a Mrs. Nussbaum spoof.
The two headed man is the funniest thing 😂

...... should have saved that for Rochester.
"He's been moody all day." Great line.
...and the audience didn't seem to catch it!
amazingly good
How many radio shows does your boss have? Never gets old
I'm SOOOO glad I started listening to Fred Allen. The second they started doing their impressions, I just started laughing.
