The 747 made El Al and aviation into what it is now. The new planes are nice but they will never replace the impact the Queen of the Skies. I love her with all my heart. She has been my dear friend since I was one year old. She’ll always be my favorite. I will stand by her, cry for her, and think about her till I stop breathing.

Never flown first on the 747, but El Al Dreamliner business class is very good. I flew it about a year ago, and it's very comparable to United Polaris. Food was great, seats were nice, and the wine was amazing. Other alcohol on El Al is a bit lacking and there are no pajamas anymore, but other than that, it's great. I'm going to the US on the Dreamliner in June, and if they don't give me pajamas, I'm gonna wear my United Polaris ones.

It's actually doable without First Class these days due to high costs associated with the service and there's very little difference between First Class and Business Class. Besides Israel is not really an appropriate market for First Class as Israel is a slightly price sensitive market.
this is the vintage first class because it is on the old 747 400 that are retiring if you want to see the good business fly on elal 787 dream liner business this an amazing business and the food in elal dreamliner and 777 200er is fine in relation to other airlines
You should’ve try the elal 787-9 the 747 is very old and it is the last one it is an iconic plane but if you want a good aircraft you should try the 787 business class

The beef was probably salty since salting the meat before cooking it is part of the process of rendering the meat kosher. Many people unused to kosher beef find it too salty.
The meat was so salty because all the food has to be kosher. its disgusting how they drain all the blood from the meat and salt it. Always tastes terrible (especially if you are not used to kosher food)

The seats (in economy) are so cramped it's impossible to fit the food tray on the table so I just ask for a roll or a Pitta. So I can't comment on the food. The hostesses are rude and inconsiderate ("Pick that up, I saw you drop it...") It's embarrassing as I live in Israel!

El Al is quite poor though. I flew on a Sri Lankan airlines "first class" flight that didn't have inflight entertainment and the plane smelt like cockroaches.
