    Uvita looks great, but for some of us it's too isolated. Although I can't wait to get away from megacities like New York, I still am connected to the amenities. Escazú sounds about right.

      I'm glad to hear that you find Uvita appealing! However, I completely understand that it might be too isolated for some people. It's essential to choose a location that aligns with your preferences and needs. Escazu can be a great choice if your looking for a balance between a quieter environment and easy access to amenities.
      Escazu, can definitely offer a more modern and urbanized setting compared to many other places in Costa Rica. It's known for its upscale neighborhoods, modern infrastructure, and a variety of amenities such as hospitals, shopping malls, restaurants, and entertainment options. You'll likely find a good balance between a tranquil living environment and the convenience of having essential services within reach.

      @@BloggingMoneyLife Thank you for that comprehensive description Escazú. It's a valuable counterweight to the views that are the other way around. It will be my stop on the first trip, and who knows, the location of subsequent 3-4 month visits. I thought the only likely smaller town feel with amenities would have to be on an island like Barbados.....

    great video ! wish you could do one on how to go about finding affordable rental properties. I've been in costa rica with my wife and kids for the last 6 months and we've found this process to be challenging to say the least. pure vida

      That would be a great video! Unfortunately we are not experts on the subject. Our Relocation consultant found our first place for us, we found our second place by putting the word out and asking around and our third place we found on Facebook marketplace. We were able to negotiate rent for each place we found.
      Thank you so much for watching and I’ll keep that idea in mind.

      Awesome! I'm glad this video is helpful. I got the music from a service we used to use called epidemic sound. We no longer work with them so I can't pull that data anymore. But I could try asking Siri, I think there's three different songs in this video, which is the one you like?The first, second or third?

    I want to plan a trip to Costa Rica but don’t know if I should rent a car or hire taxi’s and van transports to take me around. I know I would have more freedom in a car but I keep hearing bad things about tourists renting cars. What would you recommend for me?

    • @BloggingMoneyLife
      @BloggingMoneyLife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Lisa, I recently rented a large van for a CR road trip with my family when they visited in August. It was about $1,500 for 8 days and we didn’t have any issues.
      As far as my recommendation for you renting a car or not, it really depends where your going in CR.
      If your going to stick to a single tourist town or location, I’d stick with a private driver to get you there, and Ubers or taxies to get around.
      If you meet a driver that you like, save their number in your phone and hit them up whenever you need a ride. This has worked well for us in the past when we didn’t have a car.
      Depending on what your plans are, it’s can be nice to not have to worry about finding parking.
