This is pure truth, it is the hardest thing for people to do and the vast majority will never engage this. Especially with the societal trappings which most people fall into. Having to pay bills, go to work every day, support a family etc usually means a person feels they have no "out" from where they are stuck. They live their entire life stuck. That is a terrible reality, but it happens to most people. The pain of being stuck is there to push you out of that predicament, but most people just continue in the pain.

Dude, I have a massive collection of old items, toys and video games, which I hold desperately dear to my heart, and it has always been a question in my mind if it is indeed healthy or not to be this way. Collectors and super nostalgic types just cannot let anything go. I have so much stuff and I have such an insanely hard time at the thought of letting it all go, that is really REALLY heavy. It can be scary for us also, as you feel like you will long for those things once they are gone...man, it is just indescribable what it feels like. Especially the further I go back, to those childhood action figures or games which I still have, those are the most precious on the scale. I know many collectors who feel the same way, and I wonder, are we all doing something unhealthy by living in the past or clinging to it all the time? It is difficult to understand for me, as there is indeed a conflict within me which says "you would be so much better off not owning anything" vs. "this is literally everything you love and means so much to you, without it you will miss it so deeply"....tough one
