Jomtien beach area is very laidback I love it there and Pattaya has so many things to do besides walking street.. the "Sanctuary of Truth" is one of the most impressive things I've ever seen.
Brent, several years ago I decided to try fishing off of fishing party boats. I had my own boats prior to this. I was a little reluctant at first because I felt I'd be going by myself. And then it occurred to me "Idiot, these boats carry 60-80 people. What do you mean you'll be "by yourself?" Now I go fishing and I meet people from all over the northeast US. Get outside of your comfort zone. The only thing limiting you is yourself. Get out of that apartment and you'll meet people just like you did in the PI. BTW, still enjoying your vlogs, my friend!
Soi LK Metro is a much more manageable bar/nightclub area. Smaller and less hectic but still has everything you might need for a night out including go go bars. Also a good day out to relax is take the ferry (or speedboat) out to Ko Lan. Nice beach with turquoise water and good food. Lastly as you’re in the neighbourhood it’s really worth checking out Cambodia. Amazing (but brutal) history. You could do Phnom Pehn and Angkor in a week easily. Also Siem Reap (Angkor) is a major expat hub.
Since I’ve been living in the Pattaya area, only went to walking street once in nearly 5 years! Used to go lots on trips when I was younger! Now live a much better lifestyle, life is good here and very affordable 👍. Koh Chang island is a nice laid back island to visit, it’s only about 3 hours from Pattaya. Good you got your tablet back 😊. You need to find a place to chill, all the traveling gets stressful after a while!
That's a nice looking place in Pattaya; what was the cost per night? Pattaya is often mispronounced according to my Thai ex who pronounced it Pah-tee-ya with the emphasis on the "ya." And, for some reason, she pronounced Chiang Mai "Cher-may." Also, you might have been given Tiger Balm which the Thai use to address numerous conditions; my ex even inhaled it to relieve headaches.
Hemingways on Soi Honey might have American Football next week. Beach walk along the water to walking street is nice… Soi 6.., Soi Bukhao…plenty of foot massages… plenty
The west has just soured us on not getting lost items returned. They have cleaned up pattaya beach a lot over the years. I still wouldn’t dip my toe in the water. Ko Lan is much nicer in my opinion, good for a long day trip ! Enjoy, Brad
Brent, do you buy insurance for medical over there? Scooter accident? Virus? I hear FAYE insurance is #1 from Forbes, covers all Southeast Asia and fastest claims paid 2 months 60 yrs old full evacuation expense & medical etc. =$160 Just for reference
Why didn't you stay in Vietnam longer? It seems to have more to offer than the Philippines but I'm just watching TH-cam for my input. I hear the begging, scamming and endless noise at night gets old fast in the Philippines??
Brent Many thanks, again glad that everything seems to be going well, have been several times before , not necessarily my scene, but hey we're all different. Glad you enjoyed the taco bell.. Interesting to hear that you're already missing the philipines... I would nevertheless recommend Chang Mai.... Also glad you received your table OK n good luck with the bank card. All the best Cheers Glenn
Yes, definitely a 90 day Vietnam VISA and buy cheap scooters I hear in Hanoi or other major city for a total Vietnam exploration. Brent, if you are up for it, I will meet up in Cebu or Vietnam to do a week tour. Nothing like two Americans hitting the buffet in Vietnam,Laos or Cambodia 😂
Hard bed? Why didn't you take something soft back with you to counter that had bed ? Brent, seems like you're more settled and enjoying yourself, Thailand agrees with you.
New subscriber following along with your journey. Thinking about checking out Chang Mai so hope you decide to go there. I suspect very different than what you have been experiencing in Bangkok and Pattya. In any case I'm enjoying your laid back approach to these topics. Staff safe and enjoy
Definitely a happenin' place! B-u-s-y as _______ (insert your own swear word 😀). Your hotel seems super quiet by comparison to Bangla Road. I could take small doses of Bangla Road provided there's somewhere quiet to come back to and clear the head... Would be interesting to see what you'd make of Chiang Mai/Chiang Rai if you think of heading up there...
Absence can make the heart grow fonder … ( Philippines) and it’ll be nice for you when you (if you choose to) when you go back. Keep the content flowing! Peace ☮️
Way too busy for me. Heck, that was too busy for me when I was in my 20s! I always enjoy your videos. You're like Fred Thompson giving us your opinions of Asia.
Cambodia and Laos sound more like your style, especially Vietnam Da Nang/ Hoi An just south. I'm leaving Colorado for Cebu Sept 1 for a month. I'm just testing the water like you Brent. Best regards David
I live just outside pattaya, if you want a ride to see something outside the city this weekend let me know. Koh kood is a very nice quiet island to see for a few days.
Pattaya is lot different from the Philippines 🇵🇭 when it comes to boom boom, It is strictly business the girl may well have went through a good number of guy's the same day before your turn. A number of girls i was having boom boom with in pattaya A lot of them were looking at their watch ⌚️ they were checking the time for their next customer. The Philippines is a lot different most girls will hang out with you for a few days a week etc, Travel around with you its more of a friends with benefits arrangement. Having said that if you go to a bar in the Philippines it will be the same as pattaya. The Philippines beats Thailand when it comes to boom boom. What you get in pattaya you can get in any city throughout the world only thing its cheaper.

Brent, if it wasn't for the Chinese, Indian, and Russian tourists you would have been on Bangla Road pretty much by yourself.

There are tons of places in Thailand that is quiet and laid back. Then you can stay and eat clean food unlike Phil
