    Lots of work on this section, but it is complete. Whilst there are many 3d printed parts, the river area and Millennium walk have had a complete rebuild due to the over-all shape of the river and this led to the walkway not looking right, we don’t get it right every time, lol. Take a look how the area was transformed. Enjoy!l

    Fantastic detail in this area John. I’m sure I’ve said it before but I so admire your patience. Thanks for sharing and inspiring me. Roy.

      Thanks Roy, glad you like it. The mill is now complete and is in position. Does need ‘fitting’ but this will wait until the water pour.

    Dear John, love the details you’ve added. Absolutely agree on the ‘rerouting’ of the river. That piece of cutoff greenery is indeed right on spot! Very interesting how you made a new version of the footbridge. Definitely am curious for the version of the exposed foundations and the adjacent buildings to the mill. Awesome project. Cheerio

      Hi Vincent thank you. The new walkway was two pieces of strip plasticard, glued to a 3d printed curve. Many support brackets were individually glued on. Left to set. The the wire handrail was glued to the top of each support two at a time. On site STSpeak I glued pillars for the walkway to sit on. All glued in place. The buildings will be made in a similar way to the main mill buildings that will be in a video around No4-5 in the Torr Vale mill series

      Yes, this mill is an enormous undertaking, but doing small sections one at a time makes it much lighter work. Gratefully I did have a day off work too this week so I was able to crack on.

    Hi John, well this is turning into an epic build. Obviously modelling in N Gauge myself i understand how fiddly it can be but that fire escape looked a bit mind blowing. The new walkway is really good and I think the fine twisted wire for the railing has worked well.
    Looking forward to more next week, cheers John, John

    John. Some great work. I really like the new walkway, a vast improvement. I know I couldn't ever hope to achieve results like this, but I think the fire escape stairway is not up to your usual standard, and if you don't redo it you will regret it later. Pete.

      I’m sorry you don’t like the steps, please understand these railings are only a few millimetres tall and there is next no-where to grip them tweezers. It was almost impossible to get them to grip. The camera angle was perhaps not so flattering but now they are in I’m happy, they look fine to me when I view the layout.

      lol, well it’s certainly taking a lot of it on this build. Just think this unit is about 2’ x 1.5’ it’s taking more effort to do this than Dinting and the viaduct put together lol. I’m over 1/2 way yay.

    Hi John! I love how you're not afraid to take apart your hard work, and do it all again! It's definitely paid off here! The bridge looks fantastic with its new curve, and the metal wire handrails! The repurposed bank / mound also looks excellent and was a great way of speeding up construction! More details around the mill building too! This build has definitely kept you and your 3D printer busy! Finally, the river bed looks really good, and I can't wait to see how it all looks when filled with "water"! All the best, Ian.

      Thanks Ian, just realised which video you were commentjng on. Just finished the mill today, although I want to do some more to the river bed, then di the pour. Im going to wait to late spring / summer as the curing temp for the resin is quite high.

    The new line of the walkway looks much better John, as does the line of the river and its banks. I didn't envy you trying to fix all those walkway supports. I know what you mean that thin things can be a devil to get to fix even with superglue. You've made a very good job of the courtyard and its trolley seats. Looking forward to seeing the next section completed. Stephen

    **STUNNED** That's about all I can say John. Watching you work is like watching Doc Brown work on his demonstration models in Back to the Future: "Please excuse the crudity of this model. I didn't have time to build it to scale or paint it." Well, you do both and still usually apologise. Not this time though. I think this has been the first time that I have seen you very very happy (let alone relieved!) at how the model has gone, and so you should! It's so easy to forget what scale you are building in, such is the preciseness of your work. How are you going to top this? lol. Keep up the excellent work mate and happy modelling 😊

    Having started to follow this channel not long before you started the mill project, I’ve been amazed at how your mill complex has come together, it really captures the flavour of the original… I could even imagine a very tiny photographer walking through to create the 360° pics they have on their website.

    That looks pretty impressive to me John, Job done. You must have the patience of a saint doing those steps and the walkway , it would be beyond me. I struggled making a bridge for my layout, it took me about 2 months to build. In the end I made templates which made the job easier and held the bits in place while the glue dried. Chris

      @piccadillymodelrailways  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Bless you, I’m not gonna lie it was tricky and very frustrating especially when parts had bonded and also stuck to the tweezers, but I think the secret is one small step at a time, that way you can succeed with more basic models and the more intricate, the process isn’t different.

    Hi John, more good work. You have probably been asked thus before but what 3D printer do you use and what type of filament. Thanks Peter.

    • @piccadillymodelrailways
      @piccadillymodelrailways  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, thank you for your question. Currently Im using a Creality Ender 3 v2 which has been modded to direct drive with CR touch. The filament is Eyrone matt, which comes in a variety of colours. I tend to use grey or black but have just got some white which maybe easier to prime. You may have heard me mention about a 2nd printer which will be a Creality Ender 3 v3 KE using Klipper which is a wireless technology. There is an SE version but this still uses Marlin, its is definely better than the v2 printer as it comes with all the upgrades already fitted.
      Although the v2 is still available and is quite cheap these days, I recommend buying something more recent. Maybe watch a few youtube videos on FDM or resin printers, then suggested printers in your chosen format ( FDM / FILAMENT or resin). For me resin has a lot of preparation and clean up after the print. FDM all the way for me.
      Please say if I can help further.

      You mentioned the Ender 3 v3, there are two versions SE light version, you will want the KE, it is around £80-100 more though
