- LEGO didn't wait long to release another Disney Castle. This version is a rebuild of the Cinderella Castle in Orlando, but dawns a new color that is representative of the 50th anniversary.
A huge thanks to @jasonsbricksin5 for his willingness to bring his 2016 Disney Castle over for the comparison as well as his great insight on Disney Castles.

The original set seems more like a realistic practical castle with brick and stone and harsher colors, while the new one is a lot more colorful and magical

It is flesh color that’s the color of the brick that’s the color of the castle. It matches the castle inside the booklet that’s the color that it should be a little better than the old one 100% stop calling it pink it’s not pink.

Really appreciate the comparison between old and new Disney castle since I own the old one. Will definitely pick up the new one at some point as I like certain elements of the new one but still like the colours of the old one.
I gotta say I prefer the new one. The interior is on another level, love the references.
Brave is Pixar, so the arrows and target are probably a reference to Robin Hood. It could be Brave since they're basically the same company, but they don't have any other Pixar references in there.
The colors of the original are cleaner. The colors of the new one give me a bit of a headache looking at it. The little bit of lanscaping and the fireworks are nice but maybe better to add those to the original if you have it.
The old one looks so much better, but the construction of the new one looks like a big improvement. Same with the mini-figs. The old one was so disapointing when my wife opened it.
Just a quick remark to both hosts: you should really avoid using "this" and "these" in your sentenses when you're not in the picture frame yourself. It's quite confusing when you hear "I prefer this color scheme" or "I prefer this version" ... while you're probably pointing at one, we have no clue what you're pointing at :)

When i see the original set, it just looks like a generic castle and doesn't really make me think of Disney. The new set immediately makes me think of Disney and the Disney character's look better next to the new one.

Thanks for a side by side look at the castles together. It made me realise how dull the new one looks compared to the old one that I have and really prefer. The new castle looks great and does look like the real one. Great job by Lego either way

i have both and have to say, though i like the original and it's one of my favorite sets, i really like the build of the new one, as we have more new parts and building techniques that we didn't have in 2016, it's a great improvement over the original. and one thing i was doing was, as i can't have both out at the same time because of space, i transferred some stuff to the new one.

Thanks for the side by Side Review. As a Disney/LEGO fan I am going to get the new castle. With that being said I agree with Jason, I would have liked a different castle, but how many X-Wings have we had?? LOL As far as the color goes, my family visited Disney World while the Castle was in this color scheme, so it does not feel too out of place.
Thanks for the comment. I guess it's safe to say that if you have visited the park recently then the new one won't feel off.
Agree with Jason as well. Would have preferred we get the castle from Paris or Tokyo which gives a different shaping and colour scheme.
Your Republic Gunship is missing a few pieces at one of the tips of the two beams at 0:37. Anyway, this set looks like a great improvement over the original, the colors are fantastic especially!

I also was hoping for the Disneyland Castle specifically, but I’m surprised at how much I like the new one. I might pick it up.
There's so many Beauty and the Beast references, but it's disappointing that there's no Belle minifig. 😭

Actually the new Disney train set includes a mini fig of Tinkerbell! I got it recently, hoping to get a castle eventually lol
Great video! I bought and built only the first one (I made a video about the building! I am obsessed about Cinderella Castle), I think for now I'll not buy the last one because they are so similar and I don't have so much space! But in the future it will be possible!
Are the parts such as the mirror, the paintings on the wall etc. printed? Oder does the new castle include any stickers?
I don't know if it is the colour from the camera being used but looks sooooo blue and I must prefer the colour from the older set.
It’s not the camera. The new version really is that blue.
If you look in the instruction booklet of the original one, the picture matches the colours of the original one. Does anyone know wether the castle was repainted?
Maybe the carved pumpkin is a reference to the headless horseman from the many adventures from Ichabod and Mr toad
There is a Tinkerbell in both the Celebration Train and the coming Peter Pan set..And it is Salmon, not Pink..I deffo prefer the new castle, I have to say.

I love pink and pastel colours but as someone who was born on 2001, I spent my childhood seeing the first castle. The new one reminds me of the logo or the paris castle.
When I learned that the original castle was retiring, I bought both the castle and the Disney train station set...both of which are still in the box. I might pick up the new castle because I took my family there for the 50th Anniversary and build it for display. I will keep the other one in the box and see where the value on it goes...so far, it's going up pretty fast.

I love Disney. It is my dream to be in a Disney movie. IDC if they’re failing. This looks awesome. I’m so glad we have got more than The Beast/Adam, Flynn/Eugene, Prince Charming/ a Henry, and Eric as minidolls. We have Naveen, and Florian.
Nah- I’m gonna just stick w/ my OG Disney Castle. Not a big fan of the pink & light blue. When i saw the original in person at the Lego Store, i thought it was the most beautiful set I’ve ever seen and had to have it! The Box Art is another Win as I’ve kept mine sealed. Tired of the 18+ black boxes already. The new minifigs are lackluster imo.
Imagine if the Disney Castle came with a lifetime supply of pixie dust. Talk about a magical deal

The color difference is because the actual castle was repainted for the 50th, and I'm sorry, but they ruined it! The new colors are just weird.
The new Disney celebration train set 43212 has tinker bell in it. Also Tiana is available in the new Disney 100 blind bags. I think beast and Belle are bigger fan favorites myself over Tiana ones.
Yeap! They dedicated 2.5 rooms to Beauty & the Beast in this castle but still no belle & beast minifigs. Really odd. Hoping it’ll come in smaller sets tho! Just like the leaked Peter Pan diorama

I have the original, not even opened. I wish I had the new one, but, there's elements of both castles I love. Maybe i need to buy the new one, and mix and match them up due my own build
both sets look great. I wasn’t able to get the old one but I might get the new one if it goes on sale. It’s a good set but not a priority 🙂

A big Disney fan, think that the missed the mark by not using the Sleeping Beauty Castle in California... It would have been perfect for 100 years and to Honor Walt Disney
But tbh imo the Disney World and Disneyland Paris castles look more majestic compared to the California one though..

Get used to the pink, it is the new colors of Cinderella Castle and its here to stay! The misconception that the castle was painted for the 50th is not true, they decided to repaint the castle to a new color way before the 50th but used that opportunity to have it painted before the celebration. Disneyland Tokyo, Paris, and Disneyland have all been repainted to match this color way. It took me a little to get used to it, but I think it actually makes the castle look that much more magical!

I enjoying watching both of your videos and some of you when together. I have collected as a child stop like most and got back in 5yrs ago roughly.
I have not built my Lego City YET, i am neither a fan of Stars Wars or Disney stuff, but I have to say if i was to buy, I like the new one more, and use it make a different type of Castle Moc out of it.
Yes a comment you could find room in the amusement park, yes it might fix in with midevil area, yes you more space their, but Amusement Park i think be the best setting to blend into real life activities.

I wish the new one had the castle texture outside and a better blue top that wasnt so jarring. Not every color translates well in different mediums. The old one has better details like the mirror in the tower but the new has more characters. Im not a lego person but I think the new one is better
This video helps me to choice old one. the new one is somewhat disappintment in terms fo color of castle although having more story.
I think I will keep my old castle and just buy the new minifigures on eBay from a seller selling the minifigs from the 2023 Disney Castle. I do like how the colors pop on the new one and the newer generation will like it more, but the older generation will most likely prefer the one they saw growing up. It really depends can't go wrong with either in my eyes. I personally don't see the need to get another Disney World castle lol. Just the minifigs and I'm good I think.
Still surprised they haven't made the Disneyland one in this many pieces.

I like the color palette of the original more. Maybe it’s because that’s what I grew up with. The pink and brighter blue is just harsh to look at.
But, the new one has a better shape, cool references, and has a great set of mini figs. I love Mickey and Minnie, but the prince and princess characters look amazing, especially Flynn and Rapunzel. I noticed she didn’t come with a frying pan unless I just missed that, but I’m sure you could find a loose one to use. And maybe use items from the other castle to fill some of the spaces. That’s the fun of Legos.
Defo prefer the Minifigures on the original one. When I think of Disney and specifically the castle at the Magic Kingdom, I think Mickey and Minnie. That said, totally get why they wanted to go down a different route with Minifigures this time.
Is the glass mirrors the only sticker parts or was there more that you listed but was also stickers or was everything else prints.
The mirror is a sticker as well as the four murals of the princesses. There are a few smaller stickers used throughout, including the picture of Maui. The 1x2 slipper tile and Mickey Mouse sketch are printed.
@@alexnunes ya seen another vid he did not say exactly what was all stickers but seems like almost everything is besides those 2 and maybe possibly the Moana piece. Because of that I thinking of skipping this now as that devalues the set for me.😅 Especially because that Mickey print is also in the promo so it's not even exclusive.

I mean I like the references to Disney movies but if the castle is based on the parks why not have references to the iconic Disney rides like pirates of the caribbean, haunted mansion, space mountain, jungle cruise. That would've been different and interesting.

As an european I would have prefered to have the castle from Disneyland Paris. But still a great piece that I prefer to the older one
call me boomer, but the old one is the disney iconic castle...... the new one is just a mess of colors. Light blue, pink and gold dont look good together. I will moc some (bigger) fireworks to the old castle and i'm set.
Both are cool. I have the first one. For the size of the set, I was disappointed in the amount of minifigures. At the very least, two versions of Cinderella's (scullery maid and princess) could have been included. (It is Her castle after all). Fairy god mother and animal helpers. Then Prince Charming as a bonus. I'm hoping there will be a Snow White set including her and the 7 dwarfs and woodland animals. I really don't want to purchase the new one for just the minifigures, although I do tend to break my word in such matters.

Cinderella- most iconic princess and well it’s her castle.
Tiana and Rapunzal- Fan favorites (especially of Gen Z)
Aurora, Belle, Pochantas, Raya Merida, Anna and Jasmine defintly don’t have as high as popularity as Tiana and Rapunzal.
Moana and elsa are super popular (especially with kids) but don’t have a male LOVE counterpart to suit the whole date night theme.
I just wish we got either a blue dress variant of Tiana or tiana only had one figure between the cmf and castle.
Like if they knew they wanted her in this set, why didn’t they put Merida or Belle in the disney CMF?
Alex, I recommend you to put the castle in your theme park, it would make the park better.

It is bigger, definitely wider and uses a lot of smaller pieces to detail the outer wall.
Prince Florian and Snow white are not beloved so why not using idk Ariel woth the pink dress with Eric or Belle and the beast

Nope I’m completely in n favour of the new colour scheme. To me it is truely the Disney castle and my photos in front of it relate to the new pink and blues. The original Castle I thought looks like one but the colours are just not it at all.
Opposite opinion to you but as a designer I am sure many will also prefer the nostalgic colour scheme. It’s Cinderella esque and ties into the old storytelling Disney was known for.

This set is already a flop right? In aus its been offered at discount from official lego stores already. The original lego castle was actually the first lego set we got as adults, my partner must have seen it on facebook and decided to impulse it for herself.. everything was fine until i received the tree house.. :) Anyway the colors on the second castle are just wrong. Even lego acknowledges this.. all the officical marketing photos are infront of dark backgrounds.. on a more common white wall, the thing looks terrible. But probably the point is.. its not about us.. for this is its what the girls think about it.
It seems like everything Disney touches these days flops and flails. I haven't seen it on discount here yet, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I have no idea why lego retired the old castle and basically made a new version of it. It seems lazy and to me it seems like they are losing their creative touch. Hard pass for me
