I don't think it is the subject of his dreams but he is realistic and, for decades, I am sure that he has been resigned to the fact that, if he didn't drop dead out of the blue, decrepitude would catch up with him as it has for all of us of a similar age (I am only a year or so behind him and although generally fit, arthritis is taking its' toll ... Charlie hasn't played polo for some time, for instance). Prostate problems affect a very large proportion of men so there is no reason for why the King should think that it would never happen to him. His paternal granddad died at the age of 56. His great-great-paternal granddad survived an operation on a table in the Palace that could have killed him just after he became king and was more than a decade younger than Charlie.
