- In this video, find how to transit controlled airspace. I use 2 real examples with ATC audio. The first, transiting Doncaster Sheffield airspace. The second, transiting East Midlands airspace. Both Class D, VFR. Flown in G-SFTZ, Slingsby Firefly.

Just found this channel, keep it up pal ! There doesn’t seem to be too many uk channels on this subject who have been updating at all in the last year , so I’m sure if you keep going with it you’ll see a lot more subs !
Cheers for the feedback Osman! I'll be creating some more videos very shortly :)
Really awesome video and very helpful. I did my first military zone transit of Brize Norton a few weeks ago and also transited Southampton with Solent Radar to Sandown on Friday. I'm beginning to really enjoy ATC and Transits also. Thank you for Posting.
Great to hear Roger - thanks for the feedback. Brize is one of the "harder" ones!
Being in the process of revalidation my SEP after a decade on the ground, your clear, concise and succinct video is just what I needed to get my head back in the game. Hope to share the skies with you soon
thank you for the positive feedback!
Background music is annoying. Showing maps would illustrate better the situation
Roger!
This is great, i loved this channel, all these videos are very informative as i was half way through my license and as soon as quaranine ends in the UK 8th march i will be back to doing my solo circuits at the age of 16-17, currently.
Great to hear your feedback Felix. Best of luck with your flying!
This is much more in depth than transitioning through airspace in the US. I have my PPL check ride in a couple weeks and I am also an Air Traffic Controller.
I noticed in the second example you abbreviated your call sign first? Is there any exceptions when your allowed to do this? Love the videos really helpful
I believe you are allowed to abbreviate your call sign when ATC do. You are required to read your full call sign when acknowledging a clearance!
Really useful video Marco, many thanks!
Thanks for the feedback Ricci!
Hi I just subscribed to your channel very informative, a quick one would you recommended becoming a pilot thru an airline company or get your license first then apply to become an airline pilot ???
Thanks for the videos!
Thank you Joe! That's a good question, and it depends on where you're based too. I'm a PPL - not commercial. I believe most people here in the UK get their PPL (private licence) first. Then move onto commercial.
