Bitcoin in El Salvador | Ep 03 - El Zonte aka Bitcoin Beach

This is part 1 of our road trip to El Zonte aka Bitcoin Beach. We drove from the capital city San Salvador and it took us about an hour to get there with the Friday traffic. We first stopped at this fancy beachside restaurant on a cliff called Bebo's, which Will wanted me to see. Then we arrived at Bitcoin Beach and checked in our hotel Michanti, which cost us about $70 for the night.
The highlight of the road trip was performing our first Bitcoin Lightning transaction at a little roadside bodega using the Bitcoin Beach app (Not available yet in the US but you can use any Lightning wallet like Strike)
