    Ha! That's awesome Aaron!
Those were crazy times. I loved KTED! How Awesome that you got the old machine and it still has the liners I recorded. You left out that the station was so popular it somehow enabled us to bring Avenged Sevenfold, Saving Able and Buckcherry to perform a concert in the middle of Wyoming! It still blows my mind! I am sure I have the pics we took with the bands somewhere too.
My show airs on TV in Wenatchee and I will have to talk about your video. I am sure a few people will recognise you.
We may have to talk about that quad trip we took to the top of Laramie peak more too! To this day that is still one of the most exhausting and hardcore things I have ever done and I had my wife hanging off the back😅😅.
You should definitely talk more about the box truck too! I don't remember the computer we used but it was a rebuild of some kind as well and we did the tech equivalent of using 2 cans connected with sting to get it talking to the box truck sitting on the hill with this massive FM antenna hanging off the side of a power pole. 🤣🤣🤣 It was so fun and crazy!

Oh wow so so many of those albums are a huge nostalgia hit from my teenage years.
5:17 "and he would go online and basically look up lyrics of songs" ok yes I believe you, he totally wasn't also downloading songs from Kazaa and lime wire 🤣
Very cool story though, you certainly gained a few points in coolness tonight.

Excellent! I love the back story of the machine and your Wyoming radio station construction history. We in the "Wild West" certainly were underserved with radio in many area. After the "license boom" of that time we found ourself with a dizzying array of stations. Definitely more available stations than people per square mile in some far reaches. Thank you for sharing.

Great stuff there. Keep on rocking.
On eMachines themselves, people crap all over them, but it was amazing what an impact they had. Before eMachines, even the cheapest Packard Bell machines were going for at least £999.99, but a year or two after eMachines bust onto the scene and started putting out their value computers the prices of computers as a whole just started tumbling to the point that you could get a decent computer for less than £400. Not saying eMachines did it, they certainly weren't alone, but it's also no coincidence that it played out that way.

The fact this EMachine just fired right up says something. Probably what brought on the stigma was Windows ME and Celeron processors. Oh and the tiny RAM. But all could easily be upgraded for fairly cheap.

In the video, I noticed the call numbers for a Plattsburgh station. Is this Plattsburgh, NY? I've been volunteering my time as a DJ for WRUV 90.1FM for 15 years now. However, I was always making mix tapes of my favorite music as a teen and recorded a demo for WITR (RIT radio) years before I became a DJ at WRUV.

oh wow this is so damn cool and I never thought a simple computer could run an entire radio station. I just hope that you're able to make an archive/backup of the hard-drive.

Imagine broadcasting Pearl Jam: Yellow Ledbetter. FCC would file a complaint your broadcast was incomprehensible.

I had an eMachines when I was a child, and I certainly didn't hate it. It carried me through my middle school years. I wanted to try and wake it back up from the closet I shoved it in but it seems it has something wrong with the mainboard because it freezes and becomes unresponsive at the BIOS splash screen. Alas...
