- Making nylon from two solutions. Sebacoyl chloride which is denser is the bottom layer and 1,6 - hexanediamine (with sodium hydroxide added) is the top layer. Where the two layer meet the polymer nylon is formed and can be pulled out, making more and more at the interface until one of the solutions runs out.
