    • Joyner Lucas - ADHD Lyrics
    [Intro]
It kinda feels like, I'm dyin’ on the inside
It kinda feels like, I been tryna get by
    [Pre-Chorus 1]
And I been this way since day one
    I don't need no medication
No, I don't need no drugs
Or maybe I’m different, and maybe my ADHD got me trippin'
And maybe I'm just everything that you missin', yeah
    [Chorus]
I feel like I'm dying inside
    Why do I think crazy?
    Someone save me (Save me)
You can't blame me (Blame me)
    It's my ADHD, yeah
    [Verse 1]
My mind racin', I been paranoid
Overthinkin’, maybe that’s a void (Woo, woo)
Don't call me up like I don’t have a voice
I think I was born different, I ain't really have a choice, yeah (Yeah)
Cancel session, you a hour late (Hour late)
Don't play with me, today is not the day (Oh yeah)
Pay attention, I am not deranged
I could tell you what I'm thinkin’, I just don't know how to say it
Maybe I get in your nerve, I mean what I say (Oh yeah)
I been a man of my words, eon wide awake (Yeah, yeah)
Baby a lil' disturbed, but that's just me
You don't bleed the blood I bleed
I wear my heart on my sleeve, nigga
    [Pre-Chorus 1]
And I been this way since day one (And I been this way since day one)
I don't need no medication (I don't need no medication)
No, I don't need no drugs
Or maybe I'm different, and maybe my ADHD got me trippin'
And maybe I'm just everything that you missin', yeah
    [Chorus]
I feel like I'm dying inside
    Why do I think crazy?
    Someone save me (Save me)
You can't blame me (Blame me)
    It's my ADHD, yeah
    [Bridge]
It kinda feels like, I'm dying on the inside
It kinda feels like, I been tryna get by
    [Verse 2]
    Yipee-yipee-yih-yoh-yipee-yah-yah
    Staring at the fire, kumbaya
I'ma take you higher, take you higher
I'ma take you higher, take you higher
Too many things on my head (Yeah, yeah), what am I thinkin'?
How come I can't go sleep in my bed? (Oh, yeah)
I hear them talking, everyone stranger
They leave me for dead (Oh, yeah), 'cause they want me gone (Yeah)
This that shit I be on (Yeah)
Ain't no one to lean on (Yeah)
    [Pre-Chorus 2]
And you know I been this way since day one (I been this way since day one)
I don't need no medication (I don't need no medication)
    Or maybe I'm on one
Or maybe I'm different, and maybe my ADHD got me trippin'
And maybe I'm just everything that you missin', yeah
    [Chorus]
I feel like I'm dying inside (Inside)
Why do I think crazy? (Crazy, yeah, yeah)
    Someone save me (Save me)
You can't blame me (Blame me)
    It's my ADHD, yeah
    [Outro]
It kinda feels like, I'm dyin' on the inside

I have ADHD. The way the song is sung kinda shows how ADHD works. 0:00- 0:30 he sings like your brain is about working normal. Its on a good day. 0:30 - 0:35 your mind runs fast and have anxitiy. Running so fast you almost cant even keep up with your own thoughts. 0:35 - 0:59 you are spacing off thinking of better things. Wishing for the magical world. I imagine staring out the window with that part. Then 0:60 it starts over. That's why I feel like the song works so well in explaining ADHD.

I knew a boy with ADHD for about 2 and a half years and I soon fell in love with him but he never had the time to talk to me but when he did he was super energetic but I didn't mind I loved him with or without ADHD. I also purchased a book on ADHD so I could know how he was feeling inside, so I could relate with him. He always said he cared about me but I always felt like he didn't care about me at the same time so I was always confused about how he was feeling. After that, I made the mistake of telling him to go find another girl because I felt like he'd be happier but I finally realized that I didn't want him to do that when he went on a cruise and met a whole new chick. I was devastated and I cried for days. He told me sorry on a video on my channel and I forgave him but things between us never really got sorted out. A few weeks later I finally got up the strength to talk to him and he said sorry and that there was nothing he could do and I told him my side of the story and after that, we just moved on from each other. Kinda unrelated but related. I'm alright now though :' )

Wow! This is how I feel in my relationship of 5 years with the father of my kids. He's waa just recently diagnosed ADHD and I've left him. I still support him as I believe everyone deserves the support needed to live a life with out any type of bandage. The hell he put me through doesn't go away with the diagnosis however, it relives some hate I've felt towards him. He's a great guy. Just lost in a world that doesn't understand him. His suffering is silent and his pain real. As is mine from being on that Rollercoaster with him. A song like this definitely helps spread the word on this disease and I'm greatful for having listened to it. Maybe in time we will reconnect, a lot of therapies for us both need to happen to help close the gap ADHD created between us and heal the pain it's caused too. Prayers to everyone ADHD affects.

I’ve had ADHD since I was 8-9 I’m 23 now. For anyone feeling lost, it doesn’t go away, but it does evolve, it changes. I used to never focus, now I Hyper focus, I used to never be able to think, now I can’t stop. Each day is a new step of discovery.
My tip to you? Stop judging yourself and start understanding. Stop saying “why can’t I stop that”? And start asking “Why do I do that”? “DOES THIS GIVE ME AN ADVANTAGE”.
We are not broken. We don’t need fixed. Our brains run faster, think more and perceive more than most, just take sometime to focus inward too. Love all of you guys, don’t struggle against, struggle with 🖤🖤.

The verse "kinda feel like im dying on the inside" hits home with me, I grew up with ADHD and was put on so many different meds to try and control it. My dad eventually saw the state it was leaving me and my younger brother in but it was already to late. We were on the meds well over almost 13-14 years of our life so the damage to our brains was done. To this day me and him both now have a hard time being happy, our dopamine is almost gone. I hardly feel anything anymore. The meds made us miss out on so much of our child hood. From preschool all the way up until 7th grade I have no memory of school. Only thing I have is the slight memory of every morning waking up to two yellow capsule pills that we had to take cause the doctors said it was the only way to control it. I'm here to say please if you have kids with adhd don't put them on meds, look for them a creative activity instead. Something they can put that energy into. Just stop feeding into the notion that the only way to cure it is with drugs. Does more harm than good in the long run.

    • @bassboostpro3973
      @bassboostpro3973 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

It makes so much sense too. The kids are always trying to avoid taking their meds(like me) because they make you feel tired or limp with the feeling that nithing matters but the parents or people just say stuff like it's an excuse or suck it up when you say it makes you feel sick. We miss out on so many good memorys that we could have had without the meds but of course we were just sitring there slouched over, not interested in anything that we didnt have the time to make those good memories.

    • @kellycarson7420
      @kellycarson7420 2 ปีที่แล้ว

THIS. This right here is so much like what I went through! I was diagnosed when I was 8 and they had me try a bunch of different kinds of meds to "fix" me. I have absolutely no memory of anything during that 6 month period of time, even to this day at the age of 27. The only thing I can recall is the feeling of wrong. I can't even pinpoint what about me felt wrong and it still causes me to get anxiety attacks when I think too hard on it. I'm just thankful my mom took me completely off the meds (apparently I had told her about feeling wrong and she listened). I've thought about trying meds again now that I'm older but just the thought of it sends me into a panic attack so I refuse to go that route. Sadly people are always pushing me to get back on the meds without realizing how traumatic that topic is for me, even after I've told them why I won't ever try meds again. They don't care, they just want me "fixed".
I struggle so much everyday and it's hard to get people to understand. I'm not lazy, I'm not stupid, or useless, or immature, or not worth the effort and affection. My brain is just wired differently that most others. And that should be okay. It should be okay that I'm different. I shouldn't have to fight and cry and scream just to be treated like a human being. I don't need to be "fixed"; I need to be UNDERSTOOD!

The constant noise in your head becomes so overwhelming sometimes. I love the way he increases the speed of how fast he sings the lyrics "or maybe I'm different and maybe my adhd got me trippin". It's a good way of repressing how fast our brains can go. Everyone seems to be bumbling along gently doing their business whilst we all (people with ADHD/ ADD) try our best to handle something with the speed of a lamborgini, the poor steering and handling of an inflatable dinghy and the braking power of Fred Flinstone's car.

I've always wondered what was wrong with me my whole life. I wondered why I couldn't express myself easily as others or why I would struggle learning new things without getting distracted or getting bored real fast. About a month ago I told my mom what was going on with me and I was right. She told me that I was diagnosed with ADHD as a kid but I never got treated unfortunately. Last week I went with a specialist and in fact I do got it. I just felt relieved that it wasn't me being lazy or irresponsible like I've always told by my bosses or even family. I'm barely 23 yrs old so I'm just glad that I could get treated and live a normal life from now on. This song explains in detail what we all people with ADHD go through. I love you all🙏

I was diagnosed at a very young age with ADHD. It's ruined a few relationships and friendships. I felt like I was a test subject for all the meds they would try on me to get me to be their "normal". It used to feel like I was being punished for something I had no control over. My ADHD is pretty severe but I told the doctors when I was in high school I no longer wanted the drugs. I have severe anxiety now also. This song and reading so many of y'alls comments helps me because even though I already knew I wasn't alone it helps knowing others have the same issues I have.

"I could tell you what i'm thinkin' i just don't know how to say it" That is me most of the time in school and at home. As i've gotten older my ADHD has gotten worse, and i've had to take bigger pills. Sometimes I imagine how bad it would be when i'm older. But the things that keeps me motivated are my friends, and my grades. My meds help me alot, and that makes me pay attention in class so I can get good grades. Sure I get in trouble alot from outbursts and rude comments, but I don't care. I hope there is eventually a cure for ADHD so other kids don't have to have it. I want to let all the people that have ADHD know that you are special and don't need to change, and for the people that don't have it, don't bully kids with ADHD! You can tell I have it by how much this comment got off track XD.

@@mr.droopyy They are basically opposites, but you are able to have both. ADHD makes your mind race through tons of stuff, where as ADD makes your focus stick to certain things and makes it hard to multitask. So yeah, you can have both. The difference in the two is simple (but obviously too complicated to have a cure or almost guaranteed success rate of treatment); ADHD - hyperactive thinking, ADD - focus or concentration decline. Just means that I can easily get stuck on a subject if it interests me, but my mind is racing through all the information about that subject. Plus, with my OCD, I am in a sense forced to think about the subject in depth where there isn't any current information about it or something equivalent to that end.

But I'm currently off of it and I never struggled so much. I'm currently in the 11th grade and I'm terrified I'm going to fail it.. but also I can't bring myself to do anything? Don't know how to describe it.. And it also hurts when your family says "Maybe you can pay back by being quiet." Or when I'm down with the fam (in the living room) and it's quiet and uncomfortable but then you're in your room and everyone is laughing and you just think and think... Maybe if I do keep my mouth shut people wouldn't mind being around me. Or maybe if I was less annoying or talkative I'd be liked.. I don't know how to describe it and sorry for the rant that doesn't make sense.. Hope y'all have a nice day.

Taking the remote to the kitchen and coming back forgetting it there, going crazy looking for it the just giving up on it, later finding it, like “oh yeah I remember leaving it there”. You just won’t understand man

I have adhd but my parents try to act like I don't have ADHD and think of it as In excuse but they didn't put me on any medication or drugs because they didn't want me to be labeled as some weird kid because I already know that I have suicidal thoughts but because school is canceled because of the coronavirus I'm not stressed out which Is good for me but knowing people are suffering from coronavirus and other diseases just doesn't feel right knowing that I'm not stressed out with most of school and kinda happy while people are suffering every day because of the coronavirus

I recently realized that I have ADHD after 4 years of graduating top of my batch in clinical psychology. I never saw it, and it was right there infront of me. I just thought I had flaws that I needed to fix and was over critical of myself because how could I have adhd when I've been excellent at academics. I just blamed me for all my problems, but this diagnosis has liberated me.

Listening to this song its like hearing my son try to explain to me whats going on inside. He always bottles up his feelings and always says nothings wrong. But his face will be gloomy. I tried to deny that my son was different pretty much up until he started school and then there was no hiding from the facts my son has ADHD. I fought with school psychologist to not have him medicated but on top of his ODD he was out of control. It was until my son started asking me whats wrong with him and why cant he think and be like everyone else i gave in and decided to try medication. Ive cried so much app after app. One med after another. An even though the medicine is a band aid there is a wound still under it(ADHD/ODD) that will never fully heal. An if not properly managed it could bleed over.... and could cause self distruction😟😩

    • @missmi5965
      @missmi5965 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@@phoenixhunter9852 I try. I dont give him meds unless he is going to be away from me and around alot of people. An its only because he gets so wild and he does things before he thinks them through. An will get himself hurt or others.

My adhd is why I’m always so paranoid about losing my fiancé..I Over think everything and mixed with panic disorder and depression it just hurts...she just told me she needed a break because I’m in the military and she’s hurting. But I don’t want her to find someone else. When I try to talk to her it sucks because so many thoughts rush through my head and idk if I am angry or upset. It’s just a constant loop of bullshit right now. Props to anyone else that suffers this. And fuck the people who say they have it just to have an excuse...
