How much did you charge for the diagnostics process? You're right that diagnostics has to be that thorough otherwise a person not thinking would have just chalked it up to the bad CPU. Great work tim!
You do great work but that's quite the diagnostics fee. I'd be interested to know what labor for the fix was? I tried at my own little computer support tech company, and even with great work it's hard to find customers.
As the cpu as built in gpu take out the 3060 gpu out and plug the hd cable in the motherboard As most of these prebuilt pcs have the bios use the onboard gpu under video settings you change change it to pcie mode
very good that is exactly how i do it and every one should do it lucky i have the ram and cpu and spare mother boards to problem solve that Tim you were using DDR4 in that mother board was you it saide that on the motherboard Ryzen 7 needs DDR5 dosent it mine does b650 m mine is AMD Ryzen 7 7700
Not even trying the APU with it's own gpu ; seem's like you haven't done as much as you can to diagnose everything. Not sure if you tried every ram module one at a time in each slot and then did testing with as many different ram module combos in all the slots.
Does your known-good Ryzen 3 CPU STILL WORK in your known-good mobo AFTER trying that CPU in HER mobo? I ask cuz I'm wondering if her mobo failed in a way that it's killing CPU's.
Looking at the screw holes, standard M-ATX motherboard should fit in the case. More likely problem is Front panel connectors. If it was a Dell or HP, there would be a bigger chance that everything is proprietary even the PSU.
You should have tried the power supply first the RGB lights worked most likely a bad cpu ,you also got the beeps when you put the memory in the wrong slot that tells me you have a working motherboard , The the 5600G and 5700G have a know issue with cpu going bad with the igpu burning out ie it's on but won't display at all. I have replaced the Lenovo motherboard once and the cpu 29 times.
Sometimes more than one component is bad. Thus why we as technicians must have multiple spares to use. Knowledge is power....and it is damn expensive...so you as the customer shall be charged....muwahaha. Seriously though, just finished a new built for someone and I could not get the thing to post. Another VGA works fine but not the Intel Arc A770......at the end of the day, there was nothing wrong EXCEPT that the damn card refused to boot on two different type 20"monitors using two different types of ports....the card just wanted a monitor at 1080 minimum resolution. The weird things we have to deal with.
The same problem followed the cpu to a known good motherboard. Regardless if the display would work off of the cpu it would not work from the video card. In the end the cpu is faulty.
Good video Tim, keep them coming mate.
Can you also test that processor since it has a G in its name, which means it has its own integrated graphics. Just curious.
Yeah not sure that would even work. Thanks for commenting.

excellent video, and thank for sharing how its done
Thanks for commenting Keltic.

I charge $150 for diagnostics for most higher end gaming desktops. I will waive that fee if they have the computer repaired through me.

True but the 3060 is perfectly fine. Thanks for commenting.
A lot of these BIOS are locked down, which can complicate things.
Lenovo uses a few tricks on the newer T-5 legion. One is the CPU cooler it runs the system so hot it cooks the cpu,.

He wouldn’t be able to install the ram if it wasn’t compatible
Why not own a "test board" with either a speaker or diagnostic codes/ LEDS bring down the time spent working to figure out whats wrong?
What did the customer decide to do after getting the bad news?
I built her a new desktop computer.
Dead/Problem memory channel. Could be at the CPU, the board between, or the memory module.
Test CPU and RAM.

Good point but yes the Ryzen 3 still works. Thanks for commenting.

Yeah not going to take that chance.
Not what I was expecting! And not really diagnosable by an owner. Too many known good parts required to get the answer. Nice one.

Cheers Tim .. Great Vid ... For Me the board did the CPU ... Bloody Lenovo lol
That is my thought also.
That Lenovo board only support 5600g, 5700g ,5600 5600x ,5700x ,5900x .

5700G has on-board graphics. Test video without the gpu.

It's funny that - it's an AMD system - you call one of the Cpu's an - I3 probably meaning Ryzen 3.
These are dangerous experiments, you can kill your own known good motherboard or CPU this way
