Playing the best team who are about to win the league for 5 times in a row in your very first game of the season with a new system is the new barometer for gauging success. Plus conceding a goal to the best striker in he league makes for the worst defense ever. City were more comfortable playing the system, that is all. They had the core of their system in terms of the goal keeper, the striker and De Bryune. Everything else is a smoke screen. Chelsea almost did very well. I just thought Jackson being rushed back from injury plus the key players like Enzo, Caciedo, Cucurella, Palmer barely playing pre season means they will be way off the system. Chelsea took possession from City in the first half playing the system for one month while City playing for 9 years. If Chelsea were the ones with Haaland, maybe they win this one. Difference was just Haaland breaking the dead lock Looking at the stats at the end of the game, City took the possession by the same margin Chelsea took first half and everything else was really very close. Robert Sanchez did very well until he needed to do that little bit extra to look like a top keeper while Jason was way off hence Mancity deserved winners.

The problem is not that it is the first game for Maresca but its a game against the strongest team of the league and both mangers are very stubborn and do not alter their system much. After 5-10 games, I could easily see Chelsea taking a draw against City at the Bridge but now the home advantage is gone. City were opportunistic and I feel very sorry for Arsenal now. Chelsea will probably try a bit harder for Oshimen and Arsenal will be very lucky to get a draw at the Bridge especially given the fact that the players would have played a lot. So summary, this game was more detrimental to Arsenal than Chelsea. Chelsea could still easily finish top 4 depending on how the other teams run the league race but Arsenal now have to go to the Bridge for 3 points and I don't think it will be easy by the time they arrive. The league has very little margins and City just found a loophole.

Playing the best team who are about to win the league for 5 times in a row in your very first game of the season with a new system is the new barometer for gauging success. Plus conceding a goal to the best striker in he league makes for the worst defense ever.
City were more comfortable playing the system, that is all. They had the core of their system in terms of the goal keeper, the striker and De Bryune. Everything else is a smoke screen.

Looking at the stats at the end of the game, City took the possession by the same margin Chelsea took first half and everything else was really very close. Robert Sanchez did very well until he needed to do that little bit extra to look like a top keeper while Jason was way off hence Mancity deserved winners.
I actually think Chelsea will be alright half these players have only played a handfull of games together and they did well in spells they had city on the ropes . The problem is not that it is the first game for Maresca but its a game against the strongest team of the league and both mangers are very stubborn and do not alter their system much. After 5-10 games, I could easily see Chelsea taking a draw against City at the Bridge but now the home advantage is gone. City were opportunistic and I feel very sorry for Arsenal now. Chelsea will probably try a bit harder for Oshimen and Arsenal will be very lucky to get a draw at the Bridge especially given the fact that the players would have played a lot.
So summary, this game was more detrimental to Arsenal than Chelsea. Chelsea could still easily finish top 4 depending on how the other teams run the league race but Arsenal now have to go to the Bridge for 3 points and I don't think it will be easy by the time they arrive. The league has very little margins and City just found a loophole.
It's going to be a walk in the park. Please tell me the formation and players and system that will beat Arsenal. Last season 5-0 😅😅
