Looking at jetstream (windy altitude 10km) they should stay north of it. Corealis effect sucks on south side blows at north side. That is my guess. You tell me if I am wrong! 😁👍
I'm not a meteorology nor routing expert but the south route that Boris was speculating on looks more risky to me. I think the second group is better off following behind the lead boats.
Aussie here…I truely haven’t met a Kiwi that I didn’t like. (All Kiwis are friends waiting to meet). Conrad is the fleets wellspring of joy and enthusiasm. What children bring into this world. A simple love and commitment to the mundane, the details. Letting the passion express itself. I watched Pip Hares dock tour last night, she referred to Conrad as “the crazy Kiwi”! I say compelling Kiwi. His raw enthusiasm is engaging.
Kiwi' have an upper edge on 'HUMANISM' The isolation in the Southern hemisphere, is less dense with less human activity, having their own inter-independence. ( who said it's axis is not Nth.)😮 Genuinely honest Caring SOULS 😊🎉LOVE ❤
It looks like Boris Herrmann may have just done enough to get onto that low pressure system. If he can hang onto it should be able to stay in touch with the leading pack. His boat should be fast in the big stuff in the southern ocean which might be interesting. Not sure if Pip Hare is far enough forward to keep up with the low, might be touch and go for her.
The more I see Conrad's videos, the more I like him. He has a great sense of humor and is very animated. I also enjoy his tech interludes. There must have been more than rhum in that flask, though; got me tripping after that sip...
true, I'm glad, missed it! Specially it stays open, not like the other one where one has to accept some rules, like as if the cia is controlling us...... ;o))
You said in the video it was live updating, but when I look at it it is the same 4hr interval data as the othe trackers... Do I need an account to have it live?
speed improvements may be from autopilot technology. The addition of more / better sensors and smarter/faster processors with better learning capabilities. Also speed might benefit from the fast internet connectivity?
Wasn't sure if you or Conrad added the psychedelic effects to his video?! Or if it was just my caffeine overdose :) Love his, and yours, enthusiasm for the Vendee. Thank you for the daily update!
Regarding visual quality, maybe my stupid question has already been answered at some point, but still: Why do we have these black bars at the top and bottom, is it a question of the image format? I find it disturbing...
My guess is everyone as far as Damien Seguin is better heading east and staying on the northern ridge of the low that the front pack is currently on. From Louis Burton onwards I'm guessing that serious consideration should be given to sticking closer to the South American Coast and heading south to the slightly better winds that may be developing off the Cabo Frio Prohibited area before heading east. We wait to see.
Love your tactics/routing discussions! I wonder why you don´t use the "routages" feature on the Initiatives Coeur tracker which shows the likely routes of the boats in the future along with the corresponding wind forecast? I find it sometimes a bit hard to follow to have the manual route drawings on a static weather map.
You really ad the spice to this race. I think the others will follow your view. And still cross fingers for Boris. But as a cyclist and a marathoner I agree with him: it's a long race and it all just started. Especially for Boris a cyclist motivatinal German saying: "Am Ende kackt die Ente" - The Duck goes to the toilet at end. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Which means the race is not over before it's over.
Good evening - can you maybe explain - Windy says the low is moving with about 450nm per day ... a speed that Boris should be able to perform ... so is it that he is losing the low ... or is it that Charlie and the others at the top will be winning distance?
They will catch the end of it innitially, but then won't be able to keep pace, the front runners likely will be far enough in to stay with it. So Boris will ride it for about 1,5 day but then he will fall behind it I estimate.
I think South East trajectory will be better percentage call, until another system forms. Bear in mind that they are all in sector of the system currently that has an easy sea state as well. But Gybe south and that alters.....
As far as routing, I’m from Brittany so we like to keep it simple, however it’s for the sea to decide, not to believe that our intelligence can overcome it.
You are focusing on the lead yachts, there are 40 yachts in this race , give them all some air time. Finding this a boring set with cooking store to the left, a TV monitor to far away and some abstract art.....not a sailing set.... prefered your yacht post from past. Tuning into the official vendee globe site for Lots more info.
We got into your channel on the last VG and continue to love it on this one. Thanks so much 😁😁😁 Request: Any chance of some subtitles for some of the French skippers speaking gutteral English. We love the accent but can't understand a word! 😂
What do you think the second group of foilers should do Wolves?
5 effin minute intro. Goddamn it!
Go South East 🎉

@@oddvardmyrnes9040 I agree with you. I prefer the same general route for both groups. Seems a more solid choice.

I have been fortunate enough to meet Conrad in person, and can say he is as genuine in person as in his videos. Go Conrad go!
conrad is the coolman!

Looks more professional for sure.
Now I'll have two trackers open, ongoing..... love seeing the Vendee tracking on Windy!

Pilots help for sure

Can you do a segment on all the instrumention and autopilor on the foilers.
Windy plugin has been there since of the start :D 24-hour monohull crewed record is by Holcim PRB at 640.48nm.
isnt it by Team Malizis?
Such an exciting race so far 🎉

Yeeeeeah back at it!! It’s been a long time isn’t it?

I'm trying to start simple, as the race progresses I will start also showing some actual routing etc.
Cool Daily update
Miss the bus... grab a taxi

we only at 18% of the race today :)

Can you give us some thoughts on how Violette is doing?
The sound engineer must have had a few too many

But Gybe south and that alters.....
1) It's 'fewer' people, not less people. 2) Two or three fewer people makes no measureable difference on a multi-tonne vessel's speed.
De verlichting is goed verbetered 😎
Yesterday you have been optimistic that a large Group will hop on the Bus. Today much more pessimistic. Lets wait and see
You never know with wind :)

lol Conrad’s editing
What do you think the daggerboards group will do?
In todays episode more on this
Battle of the h!ave and have not... Conrad is cool.
