People think men are easy to style because their pieces tend to be few BUT they are actually hard to style. Lauren you killed it! You are truly a stylist, that fact that can do women AND men is exceptional. Excellent selection. I want to know how you organize your day... do you use planner...
Love this video! Like your style of exlaining, you give so much details, remaining understandable. Leaving in the city of finansists and bankers I'm really interested in styling men, so I would like to thank you for your job and this video in particular.
Super interesting video! I love your look today as well! Cute hair! I hope you will share his fitting and clothing choices in a video because I am so curious to see what happens:)
Thank you! Couldn't pull of taping the video (tough to get client permissions and a crew set up when clients book with a quick turnaround) BUT I will do a blog post about it.
Lauren Thank Thank you for these videos, they are great help and also great for you to share how did you get clients to book with you and how long did it take ? Would love to get your feedback
I can't show the fitting for this one - client permissions and pulling a crew together on short notice make it tough to get BTS for my work. I will do a blog post about it tho.
Wish I could have taped it! It's hard to client permissions and a video crew set up when clients book with a quick turnaround. I'm working on a blog post about it though, so stay tuned.
What a great video, Lauren! I love getting a peek behind the scenes. I'm so curious about how your client responded, and what he thought of the boundary-pushing polka dot print you pulled for him. :-)
Hi Amber! I actually have an online class that teaches people how to become a stylist. Check it out bitly.com/SOSPersonalStyling. I also have live classes at my other business, School of Style www.schoolofstyle.com
What is the best way to do a fitting if you can't afford to put the clothes on a card?? Also when you put them on a card does the client pay you for the clothes l? Do you add taxes! Ah I have my first client but the fitting is throwing me for a loop!
I have my client's prepay me the wardrobe budget, so you can use that towards your pull. You can also make arrangements with the stores to borrow clothes for a few days and then you pay for what the customer decides to keep. Sometimes you can get a credit card authorization form and then use the clients card. Its more challenging, but there is always a way. And yes, you charge the client any taxes and fees. You can learn my entire business model in my online class for $97 per month for 12 months. You also get all of my forms and paperwork for fittings and billing. Check it out here: bitly.com/SOSPersonalStyling
Alpha PR, you can also just shop at 1-3 stores (max) and pre-shop and set up an dressing room just like Lauren did. Nordstrom and other stores let you do this no problem. The key is the pre-shop and set up!! Bring client in and spend no more than an hour and have water and snacks ready. This also gives you options to run and get sizing and the tailor is right there if you need him/her!! Hope this helps.

Do you get their size before you shop? Do you return the stuff they don't like?
Yes you get their measurement and sizes before you shop and she returns everything the very next day

Gingham / micro check, pindot, modest pin stripe... But definitely prefer solids with good fabrics.
are you showing the fitting and post fitting and stuff?
