Such a humble warrior, he wouldn't blow his own trumpet 🎺 as to why he was to be promoted to General.
    Surely " The Great Generation"

There must be a connection between Kikuyu and the land of Ethiopia, kindly tell us. It wasn't by coincidence that they wanted to go there.
My Guka (RIP) had been there too probably World War II, he never talked much about it

My take is that was the nearest independent country to run to for refuge. Both Ug and Tz were British and Somalia was still under 'mzungu' in a UNO trusteeship.

@@ngangawanyoike1545 No, it wasn't about having a neighbouring country to run to for refuge.. The thing is, the GEMA community is originally from Ethiopia (Axum, Abyssinia, Lalibela) and even Egypt, before that. Our cousin tribe in Tanzania, the Sukuma/Chagga, also remember us migrating from there. The countries that are now Kenya and Ethiopia were historically one large kingdom, and our pre-colonial ancestors retained knowledge of our roots in Ethiopia which is why some members of the mau mau went back there to get ammunition to fight the British. Its we post-colonial GEMA people who have largely lost this history of where we're originally from, mainly because of the cultural wipe-out that the British carried out on our community, and the Kenya-Ethiopia border that was created, which makes us think that the two countries have always been separate states.
The details as to why we GEMA bantus left Ethiopia in the 1200s is still sketchy but there's a consistent theme that our elders have kept that we were forced to leave when Ethiopia was invaded by a group of Europeans belonging to a secret society (the Knights Templars) caused war as they were looking for certain spiritual artefacts that some of our Gikuyu elders still have in possession at Mt. Kenya. This is where as a MuGikuyu, you have to know who you are, the great bloodline that you belong to. As a matter of fact, *who* we are as GEMA is a big part of the reason as to why Kenya was made a crown colony by the British.
I trust that you're aware by now that Mt. Kenya is the biblical Zion, and that we're in possession of the ark of the covenant and stone tablets. Once you become aware of this, you'll understand most of our cultural nuances, such as the way we used to pray, and orient our huts facing the mountain.

Legend goes that some of the Mau Mau spent so much time in the forest talking in whispers that they were never able to speak normally again.

Story telling is about emotions and hope first. This man has told it well. As a human being you and I were completely drawn in. We even took sides. No big. God takes sides too. He chose israel over you and I. You have to psychologically challenge your conditioning baring in mind that nature scutters its seeds about and the seed has not taken time to realise that life is not an event but a process. The graph is not drawn. The world's good and bad is two sides of the same coin. Search in your heart to see your weakness as man/woman, whatever the case may be. If you are a Chritian, read the book of Job and especially with the dialogue he has with Yahweh. To help you understand some of the human misfortunes come about a book by Curl Young on how far we are to pull the strings together and be called upon to be moral pacemakers for generations here after. I recommend Curl G Jung, Answer To Job which you can audiobook. All the best
