The thing is, the GEMA community is originally from Ethiopia (Axum, Abyssinia, Lalibela) and even Egypt, before that. Our cousin tribe in Tanzania, the Sukuma/Chagga, also remember us migrating from there. The countries that are now Kenya and Ethiopia were historically one large kingdom, and our pre-colonial ancestors retained knowledge of our roots in Ethiopia which is why some members of the mau mau went back there to get ammunition to fight the British. Its we post-colonial GEMA people who have largely lost this history of where we're originally from, mainly because of the cultural wipe-out that the British carried out on our community, and the Kenya-Ethiopia border that was created, which makes us think that the two countries have always been separate states. The details as to why we GEMA bantus left Ethiopia in the 1200s is still sketchy but there's a consistent theme that our elders have kept that we were forced to leave when Ethiopia was invaded by a group of Europeans belonging to a secret society (the Knights Templars) caused war as they were looking for certain spiritual artefacts that some of our Gikuyu elders still have in possession at Mt. Kenya.This is where as a MuGikuyu, you have to know who you are, the great bloodline that you belong to. As a matter of fact, *who* we are as GEMA is a big part of the reason as to why Kenya was made a crown colony by the British. I trust that you're aware by now that Mt.
