It was Irish or maybe a Germanic tribe. During this battle, this woman's father died fighting to protect his people. His vision of freedom for his people went to the grave with him. The Romans won and were ruthless in their take over. The local village was burned, goods were plundered, a large tax was enforced and Roman culture was imposed on the locals. One of the lyrics says: "Day turns to night, as the memory of you linger Roses grow on your grave, to say that you remember" Singer starts the song talking about how she visits this persons grave to recall the memories of their past. This is why the song is called memoria. This is a theme in the song along with the forgotten history of their people. That’s why she uses the word Historia. These bittersweet recalls of the past lead her to promise that her father's death will not be in vain. She would one day complete what she started. There is a lyric which says: "I will take your place, and complete what you intended". In this line she says, one day her father will be avenged with the visions that died with him will finally to be realized. She claims one day the Romans will be defeated and life would return to normal. This is promised where she sings: "we will be victorious." The song moves between this dramatic and impactful chorus to moments with soft gentle instruments. One example that stands out is the solo with the flute. It adds a homely comfort to the song as she reflects on the fond visions of this person who is now gone. These feelings then feed back into the chorus and fuels the covenant she makes for her father’s vision to become reality Eventually she passed away. So do her children. The memory dies and these ancestors are forgotten. The Romans continued to rule for many years to come. Its later morphs to the Roman Catholic church and then the British. The remnants of Rome spread throughout the world, and we still use Roman Dutch law today. People forgot about their spiritual roots, ancestors and who they were. Many of these practices get demonized by the church to suppress people from finding out about their true nature. Years later a composer sits down to write a song. He is the Norwegian descendent of this woman. He may not consciously remember what happened but feels it. The voice of the memories in the collective unconscious are channeled into the singer. It is a call to the scattered descendants of this lost tribe to finally finish the vision. To take back the promised land which was taken. It is a call to action and to never let your dreams die with you like they did "take your place, and complete what you intended" Interesting fact about the composer relating to the theme of restoring freedom. Thomas Bergersen was born on Freedom Day, the 4th of Jully. He is also Cancerian. Listen to his other songs through the 2 steps of hell and humanity and you will notice a common theme. It gives a larger overarching message. Below are the lyrics to this song "Softly, shadows dance around the shape of a familiar place Day turns to night, as the memory of you linger Roses grow on your grave, to say that you remember I will take your place, and complete what you intended Rise before the glorious, we will be victorious Feel the power grow inside, inside your heart, memoria Show the world you're made of stone, carve a path to the unknown Be my historia, you are the memoria Rise before the glorious, we will be victorious Feel the power grow inside, inside your heart, memoria Show the world you're made of stone, carve a path to the unknown Be my historia, you are the memoria Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah Ah-ah-ah-ah"

The song moves between this dramatic and impactful chorus to moments with soft gentle instruments. One example that stands out is the solo with the flute. It adds a homely comfort to the song as she reflects on the fond visions of this person who is now gone. These feelings then feed back into the chorus and fuels the covenant she makes for her father’s vision to become reality
Eventually she passed away.
It is a call to action and to never let your dreams die with you like they did
"take your place, and complete what you intended"
Interesting fact about the composer relating to the theme of restoring freedom. Thomas Bergersen was born on Freedom Day, the 4th of Jully. He is also Cancerian. Listen to his other songs through the 2 steps of hell and humanity and you will notice a common theme. It gives a larger overarching message. Below are the lyrics to this song
"Softly, shadows dance around the shape of a familiar place
Day turns to night, as the memory of you linger
Roses grow on your grave, to say that you remember
I will take your place, and complete what you intended
Rise before the glorious, we will be victorious
Feel the power grow inside, inside your heart, memoria
Show the world you're made of stone, carve a path to the unknown
Be my historia, you are the memoria
Rise before the glorious, we will be victorious
Feel the power grow inside, inside your heart, memoria
Show the world you're made of stone, carve a path to the unknown
Be my historia, you are the memoria
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah, ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah-ah"
I always get goosebumps when hearing tsfh
i always shit myself when i hear someone gets goosegumps
What amazes me is how the music from each Humanity chapter perfectly captures the theme that that chapter is trying to convey. To me, Memoria sounds like a fantasy adventure filled with glory, beauty, and triumph. Thomas couldn’t have pulled it off any better!
He is a master at this ;) that’s why these guys are in a class of their own
Another meaning behind the song: Memoria by Thomas Burgerson
There was a war in ancient times where the Romans wiped out a tribe of people.
One of the lyrics says:
"Day turns to night, as the memory of you linger
Roses grow on your grave, to say that you remember"
Singer starts the song talking about how she visits this persons grave to recall the memories of their past. This is why the song is called memoria. This is a theme in the song along with the forgotten history of their people. Thats why she uses the word Historia.
These bitter sweet recalls of the past lead her to promise that her father's death will not be in vain. She would one day complete what she started. There is a lyric which says:
"I will take your place, and complete what you intended".
In this line she says, one day her father will be avenged with the visions that died with him will finally to be realised. She claims one day the Romans will be defeated and life would return to normal.
This is promised where she sings: "we will be victorious"
The song moves between this dramatic and empactful chorus to moments with soft gentle instruments. One example that stands out is the solo with the flute. It adds a homely comfort to the song as she has reflects on the fond visions of this person who is now gone. Merethe performs miracles yet again. She carries within her the voice of God himself. A child will be born this week. Mark my words.
Pltlh.
Okay, a week or two late, but an old lady has been reborn, like a Phoenix, as an infant girl. Go forth, Lady Enterprise (NCC-1701-D).
My self rules have been broken, for the purpose of something priceless that I am willing to give my position, my job, and my life for. Gate of Death. Open. Eight Inner Gates Released!!
Another amazing epic song....Great work Thomas
My Heart Smiles each time I hear this❤❤❤
It would be nice to send this into deep space... or send it as a message to our descendants in a time capsule...
Excellente composition,comme d'habitude !!!!! Bravo !
