HE lead me to hear this song again today. 17 Aug 2023. As I got caught up in watching for His rapture and crying out to Father to please send Him SOON! I am 70 now. Tired and weary of all the suffering. THEN HE reminded me of this song! And how we used to sing it. And I realized what I am doing! HE will come at the perfect time. What if He had listened to the one’s screaming out in their suffering BEFORE we and some we live were brought in????? God FORGIVE me for questioning Your LOVE and YOUR PERFECT TIMING!!! Help me to walk in THAT until YOU do come!!! 🙏🏼❤️🔥🩸
My mother had a hard time watching daddy die. She said "why doesn't he just go? I wondered at that statement realizing how hard it was for her. When she lay dying, it was even so much harder because there would be no more daddy or mommy. She told me that the hardest part of dying wasn't the pain or the knowing you were dying, it was leaving the ones you loved so much behind. God please tell my mom and daddy how much I miss them.
Here the labor is so hard and the workers are tired And our weary hearts are longing for a rest And we find we're getting anxious to be in that happy land Where we'll enjoy some peace and happiness Chorus We may look into the skies and tears wil fill our eyes For our weary hearts grow heavy with each day First we cry oh Lord please come, come and take our children home And then we look around us and we say, Chorus The family's scattered here and there but Lord we love them dear And maybe we can help them find the way Well if waiting is the cost well they might not be lost Lord that's the reason why we say, Chorus But wait a little longer please Jesus There's still so many wanderin' out in sin Just a little longer please Jesus Just a few more days to get our loved ones in
This is one of the best lineups for Doyle Lawson, Jamie could make anyone sound good, I think. My husband just passed a few months ago, and he wrote to us, his family that the hardest part was saying goodby to the family. We tried to be brave for his sake but the pain came through. There was disagreement with some and that hurt him. But the music is what brought comfort.

packingten Really? I've seen them numerous times and they are very friendly and outgoing. That's so sad to hear. I always do meet and greet with them. They've always signed my stuff and take pictures and even talk with me. I've been going to see them for about 4 years and I'm on a first name basis with Jamie and Darrin.
@@lesleeabraham325 We saw them in midwest Ohio. The players went to the buffet and waited until no one was there ran out and got food ran quickly to...Their area....When show was over they went to a room and didnt sign squat...the show was bad as well...They acted like they ...HAD to do it...NEVER our money again... Glad you got a good show...
This is very unlike Jamie & Darrin. I just saw them at Thanksgiving & got photos with Jamie, Darrin & Jeff ((the others were packing everything up as they had to hit the road quickly for their next shows)). I've never known them not to be thankful to their fans unless there was an issue like sickness or something. I hate that you had a bad experience. Maybe somewhere down the line you can see them again & it will change your mind. I've never seen or heard a bad show from them. It truly makes me wonder what was going on to cause this to happen. They certainly wouldn't act like this for no good reason.
They're the friendliest, funniest down to earth singing group I know of. Either you got them mixed up with another group or then you caught them in an unusually stressful time on their tour. Your description doesn't make sense for the norm.
@@randyyoder4898 Agreed!! This is very unlike D&V. Even during their time off they do things for their fans. Darrin did that for me in December. I also talked with Jamie during some down time last week. This is a DL&QS video as well, so I'm not sure why D&V was being attacked. I understand Jamie is in this video but still has nothing to do with D&V...

I feel closer to God when I hear Doyle and His gospel music
Oh my, it's been over 50 years since I've heard and sung this song. Thank you for sharing.
Better get saved while you have the chance. God bless everyone. :-)
Amen
Awesome harmony , Go Jamie, some of the best in the country!

These guys have been around for awhile, I remember my dad listening to them in the early 80's he had all their records...
I think this was the best lineup that Doyle ever had.
Here the labor is so hard and the workers are tired
And our weary hearts are longing for a rest
And we find we're getting anxious to be in that happy land
Where we'll enjoy some peace and happiness
Chorus
We may look into the skies and tears wil fill our eyes
For our weary hearts grow heavy with each day
First we cry oh Lord please come, come and take our children home
And then we look around us and we say,
Chorus
The family's scattered here and there but Lord we love them dear
And maybe we can help them find the way
Well if waiting is the cost well they might not be lost
Lord that's the reason why we say,
Chorus
But wait a little longer please Jesus
There's still so many wanderin' out in sin
Just a little longer please Jesus
Just a few more days to get our loved ones in
Doyle is the best there is, been following his band ( doesn't matter who is with him ) for years.
This group is one of the best bluegrass singers I have found...I am an old southern gospel lover but I am learning to love bluegrass too...sandra

Chester Smith and Hazel Houser had absolutely nothing to do with composing this song, a well known fact in Nashville music circles.

I love hearing the bango
My dear sweet Mother, age of 95 whwn she passed, said"Just a little longer please Jesus".
Fantastic!
This was Doyle's best band.
The lord still lives in his old house

That's Barry Scott. He and Jamie swapped out on lead on several Songs. Both left Doyle around the same time.
The late doyle branson
Great tempo.
I agree with Bernice Atkins...Doyle's best band; however, I did like his group with Randy Graham singing high tenor, also.
