Join us as we welcome the remarkable Archer Marsh to the podcast, composer of Season 3 covers “Give Me Everything”, “Confident” and “Lights.”
We’ll be following the journey from the tracks’ creation and their inclusion on the Bridgerton soundtrack, to the astonishing viral reaction from fans across the world.
And as we discuss an innocuous little carriage ride, we’ll be pondering over the power of music in storytelling and why although Pen might not have got everything, she certainly got enough.
As the carriage pulls up at Bridgerton House, Archer Marsh will also be sharing his perspective on hustling & hard work in the music industry, the need for bravery in creativity, and the essential art of letting go.

What a treat !! I have always cared a lot about music and soundtrack for any films or series that I watch. It's always been something that matters to me. So when I love the acting, the story/plot, and also the music of something I'm watching, it feels a bit as if I had found something very precious. I feel extremely grateful as a viewer whenever it happens.
So to have as a guest one of the people who contributed to the success of this season is so wonderful! As someone who cares for soundtrack/music I'm positively elated 🤩 Thank you so for this great opportunity and episode! And thank you to Archer Marsh for taking the time 🙏

I loved this podcast, it really made me think. I have always loved to draw, im not bad, but when i was younger i did my mock a level art and i made some bad last minute decisions and failed horribly. I havent really picked up a pencil since, as much as i long to, and i need to just get back out there. Thanks you guys for your advice xxx
This was so much fun! I really enjoyed hearing Beans talk about her creative process and career. Interview was so well done and insightful too! Honestly I’d listen to anything you four (or subsets) put out just for the banter.
That was a fantastic discussion! I loved the questions you had for him and I really appreciated how elaborate his answers were. It truly was a meaningful and fascinating discussion.
To Archer Marsh: No need to worry about us zoning out, I was captivated all along! I already listened to the interview a couple times.
Honestly if I didn't know this cover was made before season 3 I would think it was made especially for the carriage scene. I cannot imagine the carriage scene without this cover and I cannot listen to the cover without thinking about the carriage scene. I just love the way Obvs summed it up: How you can feel the buildup of emotion, a vulnerable but hopeful and then euphoric moment as Colin confesses his feelings to Pen. And for Justin Kamp's words: How the cover captures the anticipation before it becomes an explosion. I don't think it could have been better said, love it!!
This scene and this cover coming together it's like a match made in heaven, really. It's perfect in every way. Can I say how lucky I felt as a viewer to experience such a blessed combination of creative work coming together for the best? You know when you get something that's good, but sometimes you recognise when you get served with something that's not just “good” but is in a whole other category, pertaining to a higher level such as “phenomenal”, “extraordinary”.
When I get a scene that's perfectly written, and perfectly delivered by the actors, that I feel the characters are real and I'm experiencing their feelings, you take that perfection even further when you have the best piece of music to fit the scene. And that as a viewer sends me high, really really high. Either in the highest of joy, or the depths of sadness or to the peak of tension. I live for that. And I know it takes a lot of craft and talent to obtain that which is why I say I feel lucky and grateful as a viewer when I can experience that, because I can recognise the amount of work coming together.
There are so many things I love in Bridgerton, and its music and the iconic use of classical style covers is definitely one of them. The wonderful acting from its talented cast too. I will always remember how my jaw dropped for Kate and Anthony's scene with the cover of “How deep is your love”. How ecstatic I was for the carriage scene with the cover of “Give me everything”. How emotional I felt during Colin and Pen's intimate scene in ep5 with Kris Bowers' score and the cover of “Pov”.
The title of the song, yes we need to mention it! I mean “Give me everything”! Could we have dreamed of a more fitting title for the song with that scene?! It feels like having a rare alignment of planets with all the amount of things that are perfect with the carriage scene.
I feel like I'm rambling a lot 🤪 I'm a bit tired so I'm sorry if what I'm saying is all over the place. It's hard to concentrate at a late hour to write in a language that's not your first language. And you can add emotions on top of that. I'm swept away by all the feelings from the scenes that are coming back to me as I'm typing this.
To get back to the interview, as soon as Archer talked I thought about Colin. I was really impressed how much of what he said could be paralleled with Colin's journey. Learning to embrace failure, learning to let go. How it is liberating. And only then can you give your best into what you want to accomplish. Colin didn't really have to embrace failure but he had to face his insecurities, a part of himself that he would probably consider a failure as they are his “weaknesses”. It also mirrors with Pen too of course, as she has to come to terms with the damage she has done to people as Lady Whistledown, especially to those she cares about the most and love. How all that is her failure, and how she has to face her responsibilities in order to become a better version of herself.
I feel that Archer Marsh advices can also be taken as life advices too even if you're not in the creative industry. Failure is something we're all afraid to face, whatever forms it takes. It's only human. It was so interesting to mention that topic extensively as indeed it's not something that is often discussed. Sadly. That was such a compeling talk, with so many insightful comments.
I'm gonna say it again, but thank you to all of you, for this interview with Archer Marsh. I thought you were already having your well-deserved break after the previous episode as we are going back into the wilderness weeks.

July was....shall we say, a month? I'm so glad I've finally been able to catch up on what I've missed. It was so cool to hear from someone who had a hand in making season 3 so iconic and it was so great to hear your lovely voices again (missed you Veg! hopefully I'll get to hear you again as soon as I post this comment and click on the next episode haha) 🥰 I also missed singing along with Beans at the very end, I do get weird looks from my family when I do it tho 😂
