Shan, you always have such a big smile on your face, even when you're speaking up about the more overwhelming side of things. I've been in a super low vibe funk for the last month. I stay at home with my 2 year old and seeing another mum like yourself just being so positive and motivated is the kind of inspiration I really appreciate! 🩷 Absolutely love these style of videos of you cleaning, being a mum and having a chit chat. Please don't ever change 🥹.
Oh wow this comment has made my day 🥹🥰 it’s so hard to get out of a funk like that, I’ve been there, many times haha! For me, vlogging keeps me positive and gives me a purpose and a reason to get up and do some stuff. Then at the end of the day, I feel like I’ve achieved something and gives me the motivation to do it all again the next day 😂😝 it makes my day to know that others mamas are living the same kinda life that we are and we’re all in this season together! 🥰
@HomeWithShan You have a good soul in you Shan ✨️, you seem like a proper girl's girl! 🤞 Will always be liking, commenting and supporting your channel cos you deserve it mumma!👏
Honestly as a mother of three the washing never ends. I get so excited on a friday whej my washing basket is empty and once kids are home from school, college and hubby home from work its full again. So depressing 😢 x
How I feel everyday working full time while pregnant and having a toddler! Everyone keeps reminding me that the house doesn’t have to be perfect but it’s hard to stay sane with mess around so I’d definitely say there’s a lot of self inflicted pressure!
You need to nap when she does sometimes. I know it's only like half hour to an hour but try and get yourself some energy back instead, the other housework can wait... I know it seems overwhelming when the washing isn't done but sleep is more important so you feel better in yourself xx
Completely with you about it being so overwhelming. Since becoming a mum I put so much pressure on myself to be a good employee at work, keep the house tidy, be a good mum and partner as well as trying to find a bit of time for me. I feel guilty when I don’t ‘do’ anything even though resting and relaxing is important too. It’s an impossible juggle and I struggle with it so much xxx
Girl I feel you, I'm still dog paddling through a storm with my 11 month old. I think it's important to remember our job is to keep the kids healthy and happy, not be a house cleaner x
Hey Shan - I welcomed a baby boy in august so have been very busy! I just wanted to say - your content has really helped me prepare - both in terms of materialistic stuff but also mentally… you and your little tribe are amazing!!
Hahaha I literally was having such a sad morning and thought I’d catch up on your videos and that just made me smile 🫶🏼 That would be so nice! Maybe we’ll see you next year when we pop down to see fam? 💕
I definitely think its a first baby thing re the housework.. double the kids is more than double the work! My house went from spotless to a wreck and now with 3 i can't keep up at all.
Totally feel the same way as you, I have an almost 3yr old and an almost 3 month old.. I too feel overwhelmed with trying to get everything done( housework, keeping both children entertained, happy and all needs met etc) this is just life right now but like all stages, it will come to an end x
I feel exactly the same as a mum of a 2 year old and a 7month old! Exactly the same with needing mum friends too. Adult conversation! Need social stuff too. Good luck with the class. I'm going to hopefully find something local that works around breastfeeding as she wony have a bottle. X
I love this video, you look so happy! I 100% feel everything you are saying I have a 19month old and a 3 month old. They're both ill atm and life is just full on! Housework is just constant, caring for one of them is constant! Its exhausting haha x
Also, I agree the internet definitely puts pressure on us. You see parents that seem to be doing it all, spotless house, all jobs done, spending quality time with kids. However, I do think it's just such a short snap shot of their life x
Can you send me the recipe of the stew? Love slow cooker meals. Glad your starting to get your groove and routine and enjoying Mat leave. Enjoy the realistic vlog xx
Thank you so can relate to the mental load of how things have changed since locked down. The rushing around and doing too much had def started after lockdown eased! After going back to work I got myself into a good routine of cleaning washing etc which has helped me. But enjoy your Mat leave as you know it goes by too quickly. You will find your village and mum friends and human connections again. Xx
I think the internet is totally to blame for the pressure you put on yourself! I think back in lockdown it was kind of acceptable to be unproductive because.. we kinda had no option? 😂 Whereas now there's so many videos of people with that "clean girl" vibe - where there's mums who have homemade dinners, clean houses, always planning interesting activities for their kids - while also exercising, having a social life (?!) and looking and feeling good. I find it insane! 😮 I also don't have that many mum friends this time round, because I had NCT friends last time but going to classes has really helped. I don't feel like the pressure to see people loads but it's nice to just talk to people who get it. I've been doing baby signing with my little one and I do toddler sensory with my oldest ❤
💯 agree, I had my first child nearly 18 years ago, I have three children now and honestly I wish there was videos like this lovely lady posts showing your not alone. This would of saved me from some of my horrendous post natal depression. But I also completely agree that social media puts so much pressure on everyone to be this and that. Having two teen daughters it's an absolute nightmare x
Shan, I love you and love your content. I am a mum of a 4 month old now and a 3 year old as well so I know what a rollercoaster of emotions you are feeling😊 Your daughter is like a copy of my little one ☺️ She also had tied tongue and had problems with latching but we had it sorted. And now she is also starting teething as she puts her hands in her mouth all the time 🙂 Just a kind suggestion: I think the lowest position of the bouncer is recommended for babies who doesn’t still hold their back and head upright easily, this is what our physiotherapist said. Lots of love ❤
Hey Shan, I love it how you keep it real! I have actually stopped watching mum vlogs that focus on cleaning and keeping the house tidy and switch to your channel more. Please could I know which breast pump it is that you use x
Love the realness! I feel the exact same about my house. It’s such a mess. We cancelled our cleaner too due to maternity pay so I’m noticing the difference even more as I can’t keep on top of it. Especially with a toddler 😂 so you’re not alone! Please share how you got it so Halle will have naps in a cot. My baby is a few weeks younger and are still at the rocking to sleep and contact naps only stage so I’m hoping in a few more weeks she might let me put her down. I can’t imagine it though! Xx
Ahh the mess is just part of life at this point🤣 I actually considered getting a cleaner too recently, cause there’s just so much to do, alllllll the time, but yeah, Mat pay is dwindling away too haha!! On the sleep thing, I honestly NEVER thought we would get here, but I basically just tried to put her down there and every time she cried I would go and comfort her… and eventually she fell asleep on her own… but it took a LONG time the first time haha! Each time it got less and less and now we’re at about 10 mins and she doesn’t cry when I put her down anymore which is insane compared to before haha! We’ve also been feeding her expressed milk at least twice a day from a bottle and she seems to be a lot more content (and full!) 😅xxx
I keep managing to tidy the house ready to clean it, but then it’s a mess again before I managed to clean it 🤣 keep going around in circles like that. Deffo considering just getting a cleaner back! Ooh that’s amazing. Might give it a couple more weeks then give it a try. I’m also trying to express and give bottles here and there but my daughter absolutely won’t even entertain the idea of a bottle 😂 so that’s another thing to work on haha xx
Can I just ask where you put Hallie when you hoover snd make your best/ do chores? My little boy is a few weeks older that her and I’m really struggling with what to do with him when I need to get stuff done!
Honestly it changes depending on the room! So I’m the kitchen we have the newborn high hair thing, in the living room, we have a bouncer (baby bjourn), then in the bedroom, either the bouncer or her next to me cot! She just follows me all around the house haha! 😅🥰
So cool to see you're totally in the groove of a new routine. Really happy for you that everything's coming together a bit more smoothly !! I love watching your vlogs, you've inspired me to do the weekly shop 😅
Love this, these videos make me feel less alone on maternity leave. I have a 5 year old and a 5 month old and i am STRUGGLING. Can i ask how you got her to put herself to sleep on her own because my baby wont sleep anywhere but on me and i am losing the will to live 😂 x
I was totally the same! With the second baby I found it so hard to do everything like cleaning but with my first I could do lots! 😂 it can be very overwhelming! I have a almost 10 year old and almost 3 year old inbetween school ,nursery work football after school clubs! It’s very busy haaa! Also my 3old don’t sleep well at all! Haaha.. love your vlogs Amazing mumma! 😊

I loved my naps when I had 2 aged 2 and under....don't think I've napped once since having my 3rd and he's 20 months!😂

If you share where you’re you may meet other mum’s or parents locally via TH-cam. 😊

Halle is growing up so fast

Get a robot hoover for dog hair Shan! Life saver, we just run ours in the night on the downstairs laminate, stops the fluff tumble weed, 😂
Omg Ash said this to me last night! Would love to know which one you have!🥰
Can you link me your bottle please
@@natalias1513thanks so much

Hi Shan
Shan - where are you matching stripped pyjamas from? That says mama? I can’t find where you previously told us the brand xx
Hey! They’re from baby mori 🥰

Please can you explain why you never show your babies faces i would love to see their smiles
Privacy
