@@abasrashid3756 I love how in the F**k it up clip he's party Sam, but here in the studio he's serious Sam. I love Joe but Sam's quickly becoming my new bass idol
That's how he is! He sneaks right up on you like that! My spouse listened to him in Vulfpeck and i was like la di da unaware....This song has the tight bounce back because of him right? Boy is tight and sneaky
Mixing is obviously great, but big props on the orchestration--especially with how you handled the sax parts. I really like how you've achieved a light feeling texture despite the layers involved.
I was having a bad time this morning. Too many things to think about. Boring ongoing stuff. I listened to this for 2:33 and I read a helpful email, and by the end of it I had a solution. This is very powerful high-vibe/energy music. And I am an old cynical musician for my living. Thank you Jacob Mann, and all of the band for making one human’s day a bit better! Love to all xx
The guitar and bass duo sections sound really reminiscent of Earthbound music to me. I think it's the combination of that kinda latin groove, the harmonic progression, the timbre of the guitar, and that ethereal pedal synth lick? I dunno, it blew my mind either way.

Goddamn, Louis really inspires me. I suck ass, but I love composing and I’ve been slacking on getting better until lately. Thanks for making interesting jams Louis Cole
Obviously the whole sound of this is amazing. Brass section is so good. Louis Cole or course amazing. Sam Wilkes as always. I particularly like the breakdown with that warm but slightly aggressive guitar sound over the Fender Rhodes. Really gives me a feel like 60s era Gil Evans (e.g. "The Time of the Barracudas") Perfect moody feel and clean playing all round.
What the fuck I discovered this on Spotify I didn’t know Louis Cole was drumming in this track till finding this TH-cam version! Makes sense considering how hard the drums go
Iove the MS paint intros, mainly because everything else is so well made... Like... Damn I would make you more professional intros than that but I'm probably missing something. Awesome work anyway, this is great :)
It's a great idea, why did you make it so shooort!?!?!?!? I believe it has potential to grow more and become something bigger musically speaking. Awesome work anyway!!!
Louis Cole is so powerful they had to cage him
They may cage his body but they can't cage his spirit.
@@patrickstewart6260 he is omnipotent and omnipresent. Working on omniscient.
You can tell that he slept with a metronome under his pillow for 6 months.
@@tissuepaper9962 plus omnivorous, omnivalent and using the omnibus.

He was acting up again. Clowning around.
I’m amazed the horn section aren’t in prison after all that brutal stabbing.
😂😂😂👍🏽
oh be kind :( (:
You should be because that comment is killing me 🤣😂
Yeah, pretty damned impressive. When they hit a note it knows it's been hit.
DAAAAAAAHHHHHHTTTTT
Sam Wilkes has the best syncopated head nods in the world.
This is fact
That bass player is always vibing heavy
spazzing heavy
The legendary Mr Sam Wilkes
Idk how he holds his wrist like that, but i dont blame him for grooving to his licks
@@abasrashid3756 I love how in the F**k it up clip he's party Sam, but here in the studio he's serious Sam. I love Joe but Sam's quickly becoming my new bass idol

I'm a simple man, I see Louis Cole, I click.
click what tho :)

@@pyro7497 i should've put a smiley at the end, just trying to be funny
@rapchee Ah okay I didn't realize that!
I've had this in my playlist for months now and had NO IDEA Louis Cole was on drums!
Yo that's exactly why I'm here as well! High five
That's how he is! He sneaks right up on you like that! My spouse listened to him in Vulfpeck and i was like la di da unaware....This song has the tight bounce back because of him right? Boy is tight and sneaky
Me too, very suprising
What?! Louis Cole is immediately obviously Louis Cole every time! Nobody sounds like him!
The amount of tension in this piece makes it feel like if 2020 was a song
Mixing is obviously great, but big props on the orchestration--especially with how you handled the sax parts. I really like how you've achieved a light feeling texture despite the layers involved.
Also the second alto actually does something cool and helpful rather than just a boring harmony

I wonder which company will use this so I can call them and be put on hold forever.
I love how 2 of the 3 Moonchilds are in the brass section just supporting :D
hehe nice
Congrats Jacob on this tune being in the Madison Scouts 2023 repertoire!
Yes indeed! Madison Scouts will have an incredible show with this!
That bass/guitar riff is gonna be stuck in my head for days.
Holy crap the opening brass hit sounds freaking amazing
Louis Cole is from another planet again!
I’ll tell you which one he’s NOT from, Alderann.
Planet x to be precise.
Planet X and precise in the same sentence always gets a chuckle outta me.
He's an amalgamation of his mates, Keith Carlock and Nate Wood. Mystery solved.
My favorite drum solo ever. I come back to this video like once every 3 months and have it on repeat for an hour.
One of Jacob's best works. This one is legendary.
I was like "Louis Cole is playing drums", this my first time listening this music, and I wasn't even looking to my screen

Dude I could rob a bank to this music
These guys are all over the place. Clown, Knower, the jingle about bank accounts. You guys are great!
THAT DRUM SOLO WAS INSANE !!!!
I can't pat my head and rub my belly at the same time.
The way Louis kept time on the high hats throughout the solo is astounding. I wish all drummers could have that ability to multitask like that.
The guitar and bass duo sections sound really reminiscent of Earthbound music to me. I think it's the combination of that kinda latin groove, the harmonic progression, the timbre of the guitar, and that ethereal pedal synth lick? I dunno, it blew my mind either way.
Louis drumming reminded me of the big mr.greb a bit. Also the sound of the kit itself but he managed bringing his own taste to the meal. Luuuv it
Yyuuuussss definitlu
Cole is on a different level than Greb and Mayer in terms of musicality in my opinion. a higher one
Adam driver on the guitar
Nah, ya'll are both wrong - it's Fred Armisen!
I felt he had like an underweight jeff goldblum thing going on

Sam Etzweiler McCloud that’s what I thought
If you loop it, it plays endlessly.
Yooo there's amber from moon child as a saxophonist
That massive brass stab is one the cleanest and brightest, punchiest things I've ever heard recorded
I thought this was Knower when it came on via autoplay, until I switched tabs to see what it was. It's always a pleasure to see and hear Sam Wilkes.
Oh man the tension and release is awesome
Just bought your Vol 1 and Vol 2 Hits. Thanks for making this incredible music.

Kylo Ren on the guitar.
