I remember watching MC Conrad and yourself play in Frankfurt's U-Bar y2k. I talked to you after your set, I asked how you got to where you were. You said, "Follow your heart" Thanks for the advice!
This brings back so many happy memories. Wonderful times and incredible music. LTJ your music helped me get though the bad times and celebrate the great times. Your talent is truly legendary. Thanks for all you do. One love ❤️
I'm loving this and my cats are too! Nice one Danny! 🐈🐈👍🏽 I remember seeing you in Birmingham November 2002 at The Medicine Bar in The Custard Factory. A fresh face Makoto was doing a set and afterwards I spoke to you. Told you my fav track of yours was Rhodes To Freedom. Never will forget that moment. You was so chilled and approachable. Been listening to the Bukem since '95 and will never stop!!🙏🏾
I used to love hearing bukem and conrad in the early stages of the jungle and without doubt he is the pioneer of intelligent or intalex jungle and drum and bass.. He always seemed to be one of the last djs to play in the night well in the morning which was great because you were still up dancing but not as manic as you were at 3am when someone like mickey finn or dj Ron were dropping the baddest break beats you had ever heard ha.. Before the end of 94 the scene was still fresh and underground and the vibe became all gangsta and dark and drum and bass started to roll out and it was really good at first but then the whole music started to lose its hip hop roots with the funky arse break beats and everything sounded the same and it became commercial.. I am aware that things change and yes there was a lot of good things... I was in my early 20s back then and I was all over the country every weekend to jam inside the jungle and I have been listening to a lot of new things from many different people and it seems to be coming round full circle.. Gosh to be 22 again and at the que club in Birmingham or wherever again ha I am glad that I was there to see it happen and develop because the jungle was amazing and at first it was a place for the music heads who really knew their thing and a friendly atmosphere..
I agree with you, it's the amens that keep it listenable imo, and they faded out after the mid 90s. The amen breaks are funky as fuck even while being heavy and even sinister, its impossible to substitute funky with anything else to get you moving. Producers like Photek and Source Direct made those tunes that just destroy the new generic 2 step stuff. Gahh don't get me started on electronic feedback screeching sounds used thesedays. Its just not a musical journey a lot of the time anymore. Today there is Deadmans Chest, Coco Bryce and Tim Reaper making some great stuff with the original soul of the music still intact. These guys still understand the use of build up and release, the use of quiet subtle parts to let the crowd breath and regroup. Not compressing their music to be all one volume. There is a lot of good music out there on Rupture and Scientific Wax, Western Lore.
Man, I cannot express my gratitude for your music. It is insane how much you've given to this culture, and you still are to this day. Your technical knowledge and sound selection, the way you approach your sets and eventually build a story with your sets has already coined you as a living legend. I hope a day doesn't pass without blessing you. Cheers!

Bukem’s selection and mixing are on point each and every time and he’s a true legend of dance music in general, let alone Jungle/D&B. I’ve been listening to him since I was about 15 years old, I’m 43 now (Where TF does time go eh???) and I’ve got a ticket to see Bukem and Roni Size on tour later this year in Newcastle, England….I’m absolutely buzzing!!! I was lucky enough to see Bukem and MC Conrad at Middlesbrough Empire about 20 years ago and it was 🔥🔥🔥!!! Big up Danny and MC Conrad 🙌👏👍👊✊🍻

Thanks for the memories and you are still rocking it
Saw him play Brixton last weekend - for kids who had been there for the UK Bass up until then. Danny SMASHED the place up, seriously. He structures a set like its an art fom, his range of DnB is incredible, but always keeps it funky and rollling.
Danny when u gonna do a livestream in Hot Box / Fold? It’s a brilliant format and I’m sure there are millions of fans who would love to see you performing live again.
