Thank you! Made server install a cinch. For those of you just copying and pasting from the youtube description, you can get the correct URL by following his link right below that (youtube truncates the docker repository URL)
Thank you so much for sharing! I followed your other video using Oracle but my instance went down last night. I switched to pay as you go and got a new instance back up and working. I also followed this tutorial and created the CT on my Dell T630 we have at our office. Is it possible to use no noip like in the oracle tutoral with the methond you used here to allow access out of network? I would like to use my home computer to access my work computer
Hello! I'm happy you found the video useful! Weird that it went down on Oracle cloud though! Just be careful when it comes to pay as you go. Oracle seems to have soime of the less expensive plans, but it can quickly add up! You can absolutely use noip to reach your home! many home routers even have it's own ddns tab where you can add the provider, user and address you wish to use. I can't say much about ISP routers, but all the routers i have used over the years over the years have that function! If you run into any issues, just send a printscreen on the Discord server and I'll take a look!
Thank you! But what is this Docker fever? Everywhere... Docker, Docker, and more Docker... Docker inside LXC, sounds like a horse on top of another. I just installed RustDesk Server on a Ubuntu 23 Proxmox LXC container. It was as simple as crating the container, updating it, and copy/pasting the 3 commands that are shown on the RustDesk instructions. Then the server will give you scripts to install RustDesk client on Linux and Windows with your server already configured. Pretty neat. By the way, I am loving RustDesk! Excellent connection to my Linux machine, and everything seems to work, even the (usually stubborn) clipboard.
What do you have against my horse riding horse? But seriously cool! I don't remember that it was a simple option when i made the video, but I might be wrong of course. Thanks for making me aware of the script! My only issue with RustDesk is that I can't use it at work because they blocked it shortly after I made the other RustDesk video hosting it in the cloud. I do like docker, but yeah i like to be able to install and administrate things without using docker. Thank you for the message!
Hello. Thank you for the request! I am currently busy with CCNA which is why I have been bad at uploading, but its a good idea to run more things directly on windows!
Hello! I changed the commands to contain ":latest" With that you should be able to stop and remove the docker container (do not delete the volume). when that is done you can run the command again to get the server up and running with the latest release.
Hello! I'm happy to help! I have usually used noip when I need to point somewhere with a dynamic IP. You can take a look here on how i did that: th-cam.com/video/OPVFVAnmpLk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ksxTDTPY-o_jBql0 In that video I use a free server provided by Oracle cloud to host my Rustdesk server and noip to point to the server that has a dynamic IP.
Thanks for the reply. The thing is that I have 8 servers and I believe noip or dyndns allow only 1 machine with the free licence, which means I will need to create 8 different accounts... I was hoping there is some more simple workaround @@Divgitally
But why are you running a container inside of a container, too much abstraction just run the binary inside of the LXC container and that should suffice.
Hello! Yes, it will have to stay on for as long as you wish to use it. You can stop it if you plan on not using it for while, but then you should also remember to block the ports in your router or firewall as well.
@@Divgitally Very good, I finally got my new Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 6600 XT card ;). What are your next plans? I read a comment about rustdesk (below). They wrote there that you can use Cloudflare (domain name). This is interesting, could you tell me about it in the future? And one more thing, I don't have a white IP. I have all my devices, a computer at home, with parents and friends, relatives and so on, almost everywhere we have NAT. Therefore, it would be interesting to hear your opinion about this situation
@@antoniomax3163 Cool! play anything fun? That is one way of doing it but i am looking thinking about setting it up and cloud hosting it instead (for free). Just don't have much time lately and what time i have had have gone to playing cyberpunk2077

Thank you! I removed the docker install commands from the description to avoid issues and confusion.

hey can you make video on how to Rustdesk server installation in windows 10
Hello. Thank you for the request! I am currently busy with CCNA which is why I have been bad at uploading, but its a good idea to run more things directly on windows!
How do you update the Rustdesk server once it's installed this way?

Cool video ! 😁👍
Thanks!
Thanks for the video!
How would you set it up if the remote computer (linux server) has a dynamic IP address?

should the virtual machine up for the whole time?

It's worth a try.
There is most likely something I messed up the second time around, but I'll figure it out hopefully.
@@Divgitally It would be great if you're able to! Really helpful video regardless
thank you

Hi, how are you doing in the new year? We are really looking forward to new videos.
