hey stupid question probably but how do you test soil temperature. and know that you're not testing air temp? also, is soil temp consistent or do you have to measure it in different areas? i could see water content making it possibly vary a lot. but again, dunno any of that
Some people probe the ground but we usually just look it up. It’s kinda like watching the weather and seeing what the temperature is throughout the state. Soil temperature isn’t necessarily consistent but it doesn’t have to be dead on accurate
I'm getting caught up, and I have a question... How do you control how deep you cultivate and plant? I imagine you can't just set it and forget it right? Or can you? Thanks! I love seeing how everything comes together and what really goes into farming!
Do you work with your seed suppliers to make your decision on whether to plant or wait? I'm guessing soil temp relates to the germination and growth rates. Do some varieties do better in colder/warmer soil and can the company that "engineers" them predict the impact of temp?
We have an agronomist we consult but it seems like we always do the opposite of what he says😅 As far as corn varieties, they do have drought tolerant options but nothing specifically for cold weather. Some might just be slightly heartier
I'd have that, left is right, right is left, looked into. Sounds like something got turned around the wrong way in setup and or wiring. Maybe ask the previous driver or just phone support staff. You probably know what's up, I'm just providing support here with a comment 😀
Good stuff. thanks.
Enjoying the videos. Seeing the progress from the purchase of the new acres to planting, has been very educational. Loving the whole thing.
Hi mate, wen are you doing another update on the RV? :)
I’ll probably start filming one this week!
@@CrookedRows nice one! Looking forward to it 😄
