To beginners the pop doesn't come from the snap of the knees, snapping the knees just helps you tense the leg muscle easier. To leg pop properly stand on 1 leg and lift the other knee up, now try pop the leg that's on the ground. And really focus on tensing the buttox and leg muscles, once you are familiar with this feeling of tensing the leg and buttox you can put both legs on the ground and pop. So don't focus on snapping the knee's to create a pop, but rather use the snapping of the knee's to help you tense the buttox and muscles
Popin Pete literally tells people to not pop their asscheeks when doing leg pops. But carry on. I’m sure you’ve been in the game a long time, unlike Breeze Lee here, who is one of the EBs students
@@brandizzle238 bruh don't listen to the OG's the best advice I can give you. Popin pete has his own beliefs but I can tell you right now if you're not popping the buttox you're doing it wrong and you will mess up your knees. Because according to pete himself popping is tensing the muscles, now if you're only snapping the knee that ain't popping literally in pete's own definition of the word popping. So if pete really said not to tense your buttox that's contradicting his very own definition of the word popping. Plenty of OG's will tell you not to snap the knee's so...you have pete vs other OG's opinions. And yeah I been popping for about 10 years now so I mean it's not as long as the other guys but I can definitely teach popping and tell you ways to learn faster. Do you want to train the wrong way and end up with jacked knees? or do you want to progress the fastest way to the point where you develop muscle memory and fast twist muscles in the legs and be able to execute the movement/technique faster? because my way is the best way
Can you not pop your thigh/quad muscles in isolation without using the glutes/butt muscles though? I'm not arguing btw, just curious as I'm trying to learn leg pops. I had to stop doing them before because of too much emphasis on the snap of the knee, rather than the contracting of the muscle like you say.
@@rollforever85 short answer yes, there's 2 ways to do it the typical way of hitting the knees back. The 2nd way was pioneered by pop N taco (RIP) he used to pop the knees forward instead of back. The snapping of the knees just won't give you the hard impact like when you tense the buttocks with it. And you have to snap way harder to get the same impact, popping comes from mainly the tensing of muscles so I still think it's better to focus more on tensing the leg and buttocks muscles which will create a more real pop rather than a snap which only gives the illusion of a pop. But if you can tense and snap at the same time, then you get the most impactful pop
