This is an awesome hack to get rid of the fake interior noise in your GTI or R, getting rid of the weird buzzing/vibration makes for a much more authentic interior noise.
Hi Guys, I recently serviced my Polo GTI at volkswagen and they did a software update on the ecu and engine since they did that when I put the car in sport mode the pops and bangs sound is completely gone have you guys experienced this issue before?
@@wesleydavids5376 Hey man I actually had someone tell me the same on Instagram. Same VW did a software update and pops in sport mode are gone. I believe this is the 2021 engine map. Actually all 2021 onwards cars come like this from factory. Its for emissions purposes. Its actually quite a dull setup! Unfortunately the only way to solve this is to get your car remapped by an aftermarket tuner.
@@wesleydavids5376 I had the exact same thing done to my car - wasn’t happy at all. Car just sounds so boring now. Guy from vw suggested we take it up with VW SA 😐
Thanks for the pro tip however tried it didn't like it it allowed for more engine noise to enter the cabin and since my exhaust is standard I had more engine noise than exhaust. Seems like the sound aktor helps to cancel out some engine bay noise whilst amplifying the exhaust tone
I think if you have the stock exhaust keeping your Soundaktor on is a good idea. If you mod and even a simple muffler delete its better to disconnect. Also some people prefer the Soundaktor on, different tastes. Thanks for watching!👍
Good video. My sound aktor rattles terribly as in it doesn't sound normal. Have you heard of this before? Not sure if it's defective or buzzing against something it's not suppose to. Just sounds so kak when I trap it.
Sounds like a faulty soundaktor, you could get it replaced by VW if you're still under warranty otherwise it might be a pricey piece to replace. I would rather just unplug it. Personal preference but I prefer authentic exhaust noise. Btw I have heard of soundaktors causing dash rattles, one of its purposes is to create vibrations through the windscreen.
@@carcrazyguysa4059 yeah still under warranty. Only reason I didn't want to unplug it was because everything is stock. The Car is fairly quiet stock, the soundaktor atleast let's you hear something even if it's not exactly 100% authentic. Will probably ask them to sort it out next service... shot bud
@@alanpatterson2759 A lot of people complain about the Soundaktor causing rattles. Setting to Eco spoils the fun. If your car is under warranty tell VW to replace it if not rather just disconnect it.
Hey bro, absolutely! I was actually thinking of making a vid on that. Its a no name brand but I believe they are bright white HID lights which are actually brighter than some LED's. To top it off the bulbs have little fans on the back for cooling😅
Hello, i drive a Skoda octavia vRS 2020. Mine is not working, it also does not show any sound settings in the DCC sport profile.. so i have a question; if you disconnect the unit like you did: do the settings sound also disappear in the infotainment?
The settings are still there. Except there is no fake sound being pumped into the car. Even if you turn the sound to sport on the infotainment nothing happens. No fake sound at all. Even if you disconnect like this the option should still be there. Might be an infotainment issue on your car.

I really like it. Without it just sounds like a shitty saloon car.
Custom settings is also a good idea.

Once you have unplugged you can actually just remove the black box by hand and store somewhere. Saves a bit of weight and tape!
