- This is a real demonstration from a very kind patient to show how to inject Mounjaro from Kwikpen device. (many thanks for sharing)
The only thing I'll do differently is NOT to put back the small protective sheath back on needle when removing it. Just use the big triangular cap to remove the needle to avoid an accidental prick.

Former nurse and diabetic here. Always do your priming (air shot) with the needle pointing straight up and tap the reservoir to get any air to the very top.
Do not underestimate the importance of this in getting the correct dosage of injectables.

Hi, hope you are well?
Get your supplies ready.
Remove pen cap.
Twist on a needle.
Hold upright.
Remove both outer and inner needle caps.
Holding pen upright, look for bubbles or pockets of air in clear pen barrel.
Still with pen upright gently tap clear part of pen to bring any air up to the needle.
Again, with pen upright. Turn knob for a couple of clicks and observe liquid escaping from needle point.
If liquid is seen. Dial up correct dose and inject.

@@juicylouisey Hey I noticed on the leaflet it says 2 clicks for priming, in his video he did only one. if you observe in his mounjaro pen at the beginning it's not fully at zero is that supposed to happen ?

How on earth can they call this a KWIK pen? seems very involved compared to other brands
Don't take me bad, but this is wrong at many levels:
- when you prime it, you should keep the pen with needle up, to allow eventual air to go out
- you should not push the actuator to the leg directly. The hand must hold the pen and the thumb apply for pressure to the pen. Needle should not get much pressure
- you are not supposed to put small cup to the needle. Just put back the bigger cup

High great video thank you, can you confirm this was NOT the first does of the weekly does, as the plunger looks further up the pen would love to hear back as I used my pen for the first time and the plunger is not as far as the one in your video? I hope you can reply

Same qustion😮.. on my final dose (4th) of the 2.5 i found some liquid still inside the injection.. is it normal!!!
If the medicine applied a fatty belly area and no blood seen, that means it didn’t go under skin properly …. ?! That would be very helpful if you can reply 🙏

Blood drop is not a criteria to check. You medication had gone

Whenever I do it, I see some of the fluid still on my skin. Am I doing it correctly ?
you must leave the pen in for 10 seconds it will stop the drops on your skin
Hi. I want to divide the 15 dose to 8 doses of 7.5 and that will be for 8 weeks is that safe. And I am travillng after second dose is it ok to save the pen in cooler for long trip. Thanks
@AydaAlmuti it's not recommended by company to use pen longer than 6 weeks as efficacy of molecule becomes questionable... please ensure you have supervision of your endocrinologist

How many clicks for each dose in 15 mg ??
I'm yet to check the original pen of 15mg ...
There is no click count for 15mg dose as the pen will give you 15mg on one full dial

I have bloods regularly taken but theres something about self administering im worrying about. Someone that has done it. Does it hurt?
It's a 4mm needle that only goes under the skin reaching... there's minimal feeling of pain.
If you have had experience of giving blood samples then you will know this subcutaneous injection is much less painful than blood test
After years of giving injections to others as a nurse I found giving myself an injection terrifying.
Lift the skin to make sure you don’t hit a muscle.
Experiment with the recommended areas. You may find some better than others.
Don’t reuse needles. These needles were developed for insulin using diabetic patients who may have to take 5 or more per day.
They are smoother than the needles for vaccines etc to help with compliance.

Is it normal for there to be some solution left in the pen after the 4th dose?
It is possible to see very small quantity left if you didn't prime the needle each time before the injection.
Those few drops are supposed to be wasted

@kanefisher2913 yes that's fine. The idea is to see a drop coming out of it. Usually the pressure of attaching the needle would also show a drop coming out. So one click is also fine for priming needle
