this movie legit came out on my 10th birthday my parents took me to the movie theater to see it. This part of the movie has always been my favorite. All the colors, all the circus acts, I loved it all. I'm 18 now and I just got the movie along with the other 2 movies for Christmas. Now as of the year 2021 it was literally one of the best Madagascar movies I've ever seen. : )

If anybody did pay a lot for Madagascar 3 right after it came out,maybe Dreamworks would’ve been able to decide to make a Madagascar 4 and have it come out as soon as 2015 or 2016. That way nobody would have to wait forever for it to happen and then they would’ve been able to move on with their lives a lot better than how they can do it now(if any of them are Madagascar fans). So here is my idea for a plot for the film in case anybody feels like they can’t move on with their lives without a Madagascar 4.
Alex and the Circus arrive in Miami, Florida for a circus show. Alex smells the breeze and says “Beautiful day in Miami, huh guys”. He talks to others including Marty, Gloria, Melman, the Lemurs, the Penguins, the Chimps, Vitaly, Gia, Stefano, Sonya, Esmeralda the Mare (who would become Marty’s girlfriend), and Jonesy the Dog. (By the way, sorry the other mares aren’t decided to be in this film, same with the two elephants who appeared in the last film, and the other little dogs. Only because I wanted there to be enough room for new characters to join Alex and the Circus while later, they may stop becoming a circus). Marty is talking about dating Esmeralda and Alex gets happy for him of having a date and then he gets to where he and Gia were about to practice their trapeze when all of a sudden, an alligator sneaks up behind Alex saying “Excuse me” and Alex gets startled and falls on his back. Then the alligator says “Oh sorry” and Marty picks up Alex and Alex says “No, it’s okay, um who are you?” Then, the alligator says his name is Roger (Played by Robert Downy Jr.) and he has friends with him who are a Flamingo named Pinky (who has a Caribbean accent), a Baboon named Dan (who has an African accent), and a frog named Barry (whose species has changed to a Red-Eyed Tree Frog). Alex and Marty ask them where they came from and Roger tells them they came from a zoo but they decided they didn’t want to stay there anymore and wanted to go somewhere away from the zoo and Roger asks if Alex and his friends could take them with them. Then, Alex gets an idea and talks to Marty, Gloria and Melman privately about it and says “You guys know what I think, I think we should break animals out of zoos while we’re traveling across country.” and then, Melman feels concerned about the idea at first and says “What? Don’t you think it’s a little illegal, Alex?” Alex then says “Well, somebody might wonder where all the animals we’ll meet have gone to, but heck, they’ll just find them in their own cities.” He also decides for the Chimps to disguise themselves as keepers so they can keep guests out until further notice. Then Alex asks Vitaly if they could have Roger and his friends stay in one of the train carts while Alex and the circus perform, but then Vitaly says “no” at first. Then Alex says “Come on, Vitaly. Member you didn’t want us in the circus at first but then, later we helped the circus and you accepted us in it?” Then Vitaly finally accepts the idea and says “Ah, fine. I just hope you know what you’re doing.” Then, Alex asks the penguins to store Roger and his friends into the Circus Cart. After the penguins put Roger and Barry into one of the carts, Skipper says “We’ll see you in a while, crocodile.” But Roger corrects that he’s an alligator. Then Skipper says “Okay, then I guess I mean ‘see you later, alligator’.” Pinky and Dan get placed in where the lemurs and Sonya stay and Julien says “ Say, why do they have to be in our cart?” Then, Pinky and Dan say “We like parties.” And then Julien accepts them being there so they could have fun later.
The Circus then performs in Miami, Florida and leaves the next morning. Meanwhile, a raccoon (that resembles Archie) walks up toward the road but runs away when a jeep vehicle drives toward the Miami Zoo and out of the vehicle comes a man with a green hunter’s looking outfit with sunglasses and short blonde hair (who actually works like a bounty hunter). He asks local zookeepers what happened and then they tell him that an alligator, a tree frog, a baboon and a flamingo have escaped the zoo and they were worried they could be seen by somebody outside zoo boundaries. So the hunter investigates and finds an alligator footprint and then a lion foot print and figures out that the escaped zoo animals have gotten onto a circus train and they have left Miami and were going somewhere across country.
Meanwhile, Alex and the Circus arrive in Chicago, Illinois. While the circus show was set in Lincoln Park for the evening. Alex invites Gia, Jonsey, Marty, Stefano, Esmeralda, Melman, Gloria, the Penguins, the Chimps, Roger and Barry with him. He sets out a plan to pinpoint where he and his friends should go. He tells Gia to have Jonsey do some dog tricks to keep somebody from getting into the zoo. He tells Esmeralda to stay with Gia and Jonsey. He tells Marty, Gloria, Melman, and Stefano to go inside with him. He tells the Chimps to find a Zookeeper disguise and have Roger stand like a statue. Roger says “Really, I have to stand like a statue? What if I get dizzy?” Alex tells him he can act like a collapsing statue. He then tells Barry to look like a toy but keep his feet sticking. While he tells the penguins to cut the power while going in. Everybody then agrees with the plan and goes in. The Chimps make a sign language that the zoo is closed and Roger the Alligator stands like a statue and tries not to blink. Barry disguises as a toy. The Penguins sneak inside and cut the power. Gia stays in a bush while watching Esmeralda and Jonsey entertain people walking by. Alex and his friends climb the other side of the wall and look around and find a sad otter in her enclosure. Alex, Marty, and Stefano walk towards her and say “Hey, little otter. What’s the matter?” The otter looks up to them and says she has been in an enclosure all by herself since after she left her birth town on the west side of the country and hasn’t had friends since. So, Alex asks her why won’t she come with them since they could keep her company for as long as she wants. The otter gets happy and introduces herself as Marlene (Played by Katy Perry and the character has green eyes). Alex picks her up and hands her over to Stefano and Stefano gets happy and excited and hugs her like crazy. He then says “Oh a boy. I’ve always wanted a little otter for a daughter.” and kisses her on the cheek. Alex then walks towards Gloria and Melman who are standing in front of an Elephant’s enclosure and don’t know what the Elephant’s problem is. So Alex asks “Hey buddy, you okay.” Then, the elephant says “I just don’t like being in an enclosed place all the time because I'm an elephant”. Alex asks what his name is and the Elephant says his name is Burt (Played by John C. Reilly) and he says he wants to get out of the zoo. So they ask him to come and he agrees, but then he falls down on his under chin and says “Sorry, I’m a little clumsy.” The Penguins get things situated and see their friend from back at Central Park Zoo. Private says “Guys, it’s Ted, what’s he doing here?” They go towards Ted and ask him what he is doing here and Ted (Now played by a Canadian actor) tells them he got transferred from the Central Park Zoo because somebody thought Illinois would be much closer to Churchill than the zoo he was living in. Private asks if they could have Ted with them. Skipper agreed and then Everybody gets out of the zoo and for the ones who are outside, they stop doing what they’re doing and catch up to Alex and the others and arrive back at the circus. Ted sees Sonya and gets a crush on her but Julien slaps his paw and says “No, this is my woman.” Ted then says “Sorry.” Stefano also asks Marlene if she could practice something with him. Marlene shows Stefano what she had trained herself to do and it gets Stefano excited. Meanwhile, some chameleons leave the zoo and sneak into the circus and they go camouflaged.
Meanwhile, After the Circus leaves the next morning, the bounty hunter receives news that an otter, a polar bear and an elephant escaped Lincoln Park Zoo. He arrives in Chicago, looks at the trainway track and sees the same lion footprint and the print of an elephant and realizes the same thing happened back in Miami and is getting warmer on the trail.
The Circus has arrived at Saint Louis, Missouri, Their next show is set in the evening and Alex and some members of the Circus go towards the St. Louis Zoo and this time just Gia, Jonsey, Vitaly, the Penguins, the Chimps, Roger, Barry, and Ted are with him. Even though Vitaly still doesn’t like the idea of breaking animals out of zoos and getting them on the train, he still follows what Alex is planning on and this time, he gets Ted to stand like a statue in front of the zoo. Ted then goes “What?” Roger also says “Yeah, it’s tiring for me when I do that.” So Roger and Ted go in front of the zoo along with the Penguins, the Chimps, and Barry and do what they were rehearsing. Jonsey entertains people while Alex, Gia, and Vitaly get into the zoo and look around for somebody who doesn't look happy. Then, they find a gorilla and a rhino standing next to each other looking grumpy but not at each other, just something else. Alex asks them “Why are you guys so grumpy?” The gorilla explains that the keepers at their zoo were stupid and keep assuming he’s a meat-eater and would want meat but wishes they knew that gorillas are vegetarians and don’t want meat even though they look like monsters at first. The rhino even explains that he gets tired of people messing with him and he would want space from them so he won’t get so angry. Alex asks the gorilla and rhino if they could come with them and not have to be in a zoo they don’t like anymore. The gorilla and rhino agree and they tell them their names are Bada (Played by Bokeem Woodbine) and Roy (Played by Dave Bautista or some other strong actor) and they even realize that Vitaly is a tough guy and would want to become friends with him. While the penguins are getting ready to leave an ostrich trips over one of them and she apologizes and realizes how cute the penguins are. She says “Hello, little birds. My name is Shelly.” (Played by Melissa Mccarthy) She asks them what they’re doing and the Penguins tell her that they’re breaking sad or angry animals out of zoos so they could have the adventure they want. Even though Shelly doesn’t seem sad or angry, she just happens to like the Penguins anyway and decides to go with them. Then, everybody goes back to the Circus and Bada finds some weights to lift and then Alex says “Wow, you look like you can be in the show.” He even offers him some fruit and it makes Bada happier than how he felt when he was given the wrong food too much. Some more chameleons got out of the zoo and joined with the other chameleons that left before. Then the next morning, the circus leaves.
Meanwhile, the Bounty Hunter received news that a gorilla, a rhino, and an ostrich got out of their zoo and he finds the same lion track he saw in the two other cities while he also finds a gorilla track and asks himself “Who is this lion taking animals out of zoos where they’re not supposed to leave?” and then gets into his jeep and drives west to follow the missing animals’ trail.
The Circus are traveling across the countryside of Texas. A badger (Resembling Becky but with a southern accent) in a desert near not far from the railroad track and an armadillo (With a Mexican accent) find a bug to eat but they fight over it saying “It’s mine! No, mine!” Alex is in a cart at the same time as Marty, Gloria, Melman, Gia, Stefano, Burt, Jonsey, Esmeralda, and Marlene. They are all pretty happy for making their circus bigger and for giving animals an experience away from zoos. They’re all hoping that maybe people will be doing something different for animals than they usually do and treat animals equally. Then, they all start hugging each other since having new friends can be like having new members of the family.
Later, they start to arrive in a city in Southern California and Alex and his friends look above the cart and Alex asks “Is that…?” Then Melman says “San Diego. Am I right this time?” and gets Gloria giggling. They arrive at the Balboa Park at the San Diego Zoo and Marlene is amazed she came back to California after a long time and she sees an aquarium not far away and asks Alex if they should go over there to see if there are any animals wanting to get out of there. Alex agrees and she invites the Penguins and Stefano to go with her to the place, while Mason and Phil disguise as a keeper telling guests that the zoo is closed. Roger, Ted and Shelly all stand as statues and Barry a toy again. While Alex gets into the zoo with Marty, Melman, Gloria, Gia, Vitaly, Burt, Bada and Roy. When Burt’s tail gets stuck somewhere and farts, everyone looks at him and then he says “Uh, wasn’t me. It was a mosquito.” Then, they look around and find a kangaroo yelling at a koala who’s sleeping too much on a tree. The kangaroo shouts “Get up, Leonard you lazy koala, get out of that tree now!” Leonard (Who has an Australian accent) gets up saying “Alright, alright. I’m up, I’m up.” But then he goes right back to sleep and snores. Alex calls for the kangaroo and asks for his name. The kangaroo tells him his
name is Joey (Played by Hugh Jackman) Alex asks him why he yells at his koala friend. Joey tells Alex and the others who are with him that Leonard keeps sleeping because he’s bored of being in the zoo and he tries so hard to make him do something while they’re here. But he keeps falling back to sleep every time Joey tries to wake him up. So, Alex asks Joey if he and Leonard can come with them on an adventure that will be more fun than in a zoo. Joey thinks about it and decides it’s a good idea and takes Leonard out of the tree and tells him that they’re leaving the zoo and Leonard gets excited and jumps on Melman’s neck and Melman enjoys it. Then, they all leave the zoo. While, more chameleons get themselves out from a reptile house but one of them lands on a big snake (Resembling Savio) and the snake chases him until he finally gets out safely.
Meanwhile, Stefano pushes Marlene into the other side of the wall that surrounds the aquarium and then she falls but lands safely on a big toy dolphin. Stefano catches up, but then accidentally lands on cement ground. Marlene gets shocked and asks Stefano “Are you okay?” Stefano then says “ It’s all a right. I’ve hit a cliff from a cannon blast before but managed to walk it off.” Then, when they see the penguins, the penguins told them they were going to watch the entrance while Stefano and Marlene look around for someone who wants to get out. They look around and find a sad dolphin in his pool and they ask him what’s the matter. The dolphin tells them that his name is Flippy (A good portrayed multiverse version of Dr. Blowhole with two eyes, without high tech and played by Bruno Mars) and he tells them the reason he’s sad is because he’s taken from the ocean from his family and he just wants to go home. So Marlene and Stefano get the penguins and ask them to operate a system that can send Flippy back to the ocean. Then the penguins build a structure that can get Flippy out. They get Flippy to try to jump through the thing and then he jumps through and gets sent safely back to the ocean. He jumps happily thanking them for sending him back and then he jumps through the water on his way back to his family. Soon, They head back to the circus.
Everybody is back at the circus and they’re getting prepared to do their show. Melman, Gloria, Burt, and Leonard are practicing tight rope acts. The Penguins, the Chimps, Roger, Barry, Ted and Shelly are keeping the circus operating. The Lemurs, Sonya, Pinky and Dan are all practicing music lessons. Vitaly, Bada, Roy and Joey are all practicing extreme acts. Marty, Stefano, Marlene and Esmeralda are all practicing acts on fun things. Also, Alex and Gia get ready to practice their trapeze act with Jonsey supporting it. Then, all of a sudden, they hear the radio news and it reports that some zoo animals have mysteriously disappeared from their zoos and they hear from a man who is explaining that the reason zoo animals are disappearing is because a lion from a circus is taking them and I’m on the trail for him. Everyone looks at Alex feeling disappointed and were saying “Alex, why? You told us no one would find us outside the cities we left.” Alex feels ashamed and says “ I know I told you that, but I thought we would get everybody who would want to leave their zoos behind to have the adventure they wanted and I didn’t think we would have someone tracking us down.” Vitaly then says “ I knew this was a bad idea and I told you no in the first place but you made me accept your idea and got away with it.” Alex then says “I’m sorry, guys. I didn’t mean for it to be this way and I guess you don’t want me around anymore and you’ll have better show to do without me.” Alex then walks away feeling guilty. Skipper says “ Don’t worry, we’ll keep an eye out for animal control.” But then, he and the other penguins get tranquilized and everybody else gasps. Then, they all get tranquilized themselves and out comes an animal control force team and the bounty hunter, he says “ Good job, you guys let’s get all these animals to a facility where they won’t get away from.” He then asks “Has anyone seen that lion leader?” Others say “No sir.” The hunter says “Well keep looking, I’m going to have to turn him into taxidermy.” But there was an animal he missed along with a bunch others he didn’t see and that was Barry the Frog and Chameleons. Barry then leaves to go find Alex.
Meanwhile, Alex walks away feeling sad for what he did to his friends. Then Barry shows up and says “Alex, you’ve got to come back.” Then Alex says “Barry? What are you doing here?” Barry says “Everyone’s been captured by animal control and the man who was tracking us down is trying to find you and wants to make you into taxidermy.” Alex gets shocked when he hears the story and says “ Oh no, we’ve gotta help them.” Barry panics and says “Yeah, but how?” They then see a couple eyes appearing from a flower and they both get startled thinking “Are we seeing a flower with eyes?” But the flower wasn’t a flower, it was a chameleon camouflaging along with an army of chameleons. Alex and Barry are so surprised and happy they’ve got the help they need to find their lost friends. Alex sees through binoculars and Barry points to him the man they got tracked down by and watches where they’re going. They reach the Animal Control Facility and they make a plan on what to do to get their friends out. Alex tells the chameleons to steal the tranquilizing darts, take the keys and ring the bell to get the officers to leave where the animals are held. They all get on with their plan. All of the animals who joined Alex are imprisoned, waking up realizing they’re in cages, feeling sad and weren’t sure what was going to happen to them. While the animals originally from the circus have their outfits off. Since they realized Alex wasn’t with them at first, some of them think that if it wasn’t for him, they wouldn’t end up in prison. But then, Alex surprises them and carries the keys to get them out. Everybody was so happy Alex came and he unlocked them out of prison and he told them all to keep their voices down so the officers wouldn’t hear them. When they’re about to leave the facility, the officers realize they have escaped and run after them. Everybody runs to try to get out but then, they get surrounded by the officers. But when the officers try to shoot darts at them, they realize their guns aren’t shooting and they see the darts are missing from them. Then, they stare back at the animals and the animals look at them in a smiling dangerous way and the officers say “Uh-oh.” The animals then fight back the officers with all of the abilities they have including the penguins who manage to chop them with their flippers, Joey kicking them with his feet and Bada and Roy beating them and pushing them off somewhere. Then, they all get out of the facility and steal the motorcycles and cars the officers ride and drive. The hunter comes back and says “What happened?”. Then one of the officers tells him in a scared way that the darts were gone and the animals got away. The hunter decides to get more back up and goes after them.
Alex and all of his friends ride as far away from the facility as possible. Alex leads in a vehicle with Gia and Jonsey. Marty rides with Stefano, Esmeralda and Marlene. Melman and Gloria ride with Burt and Leonard. The Lemurs ride with Sonya, Pinky and Dan. The Penguins ride with the Chimps, Roger, Barry, Ted, and Shelly, along with chameleons camouflaging on their vehicle. Also, Vitaly rides with Bada, Roy and Joey. They go find a place safe until they look behind and see the bounty hunter and S W A T team on their trail and the animals drive as fast as they could and then they get out of the vehicles and run up towards the Cabrillo National Monument. All of a sudden the start of the path got blocked by the S W A T team. The hunter tells everyone to back up and says “Some of these animals are the ones who went missing from their zoos because this lion wanted to take them away and turn them into circus freaks. Well now since we got them to surrender, we’ll take all of these animals back to their homes and the places where they’ll be kept safe in captivity. Accept for this lion, I’ll take him with me and I’ll take good care of him.” He picks up his rifle with a sleeping dart he’s been saving and is about to aim at him. Suddenly, Phil gets nervous and Mason wonders what’s wrong. Phil runs in front of Alex, breathes heavily and shouts “STOP!” Everyone gasps and realizes Phil can talk, he can speak human and the humans understand him and say “Did that monkey just say ‘stop’?” Phil says “Yes, I said “stop”, also I can talk, and I really have been using sign language for all my life because I have this ability to speak human and I didn’t want to let my friend Mason or anybody else know or else the zoo would have me removed and send me to a secret laboratory facility and I even have translated human written language because Mason wouldn’t read and I was given something that would give me the understanding of human communication but since I’m a chimp, I just had to keep it secret. So if you don’t want to just hear my thoughts, I’ll let you explain my other friends’ thoughts. Starting with you Alex.” Alex hesitates, but starts making his speech. “Everyone listen, you don’t have to keep enforcing us to stay in captivity or anywhere else you expect us to” Phil translates for him, then Alex continues “The reason me and some of my friends were getting animals out of zoos is because my friend, Marty left the zoo and he wanted to have experience away from there. Also, I thought it would work out for other animals who want to get out of zoos. So, what do you say? Do you want us behind bars, fences, or glass or do you want us to have the freedom we want and share this world with us?” Everyone stares, then thinks, then one kid says “Let the animals be free!” Everyone cheers and says “Let the animals be free” more than one time. But the bounty hunter gets infuriated and says “Are you guys nuts? They’re just animals and they’re going where they belong.” He pulls up his gun but gets bitten in the rear end by Jonesy the Dog. A ship pulls onto the island and out of the ship comes Julien and says “Hey everybody, I’m back!” All the lemurs on the island cheer, then Stevie the Gecko jumps onto Julien and licks him. Julien then says “Stevie, did you miss your daddy?” and he tickles him back. Then Alex, his friends and all the animals they’ve met come onto the island to meet the local residents. The song “I Like to Move It” plays while everybody does something the main characters did in all the previous movies like finding fossa attacking and scaring them away like Alex and Vitaly can do it. Sipping and spitting sea water, dancing and making funny faces, wearing afro wigs and playing former circus tricks. Then the movie cuts to the credits with chameleons crawling and swinging around with their tongues. The credits show images of what the characters are doing after the end of the events of the film. Including when Alex and Gia get married, same with Marty and Esmeralda and then they appear living as next door neighbors along with Gloria and Melman. The Penguins join a military force, Julien running the country of Madagascar. Mason and Phil running a class on how to have animals and humans understand each other’s language. Vitaly becoming a coach. Stefano becomes a father figure for Marlene and sends her to College so she can make enough friends. Jonsey becomes a police officer. Sonya works at a bike shop. Roger and Shelly carve statues. Pinky and Dan work as musicians. Barry and the Chameleons work as magicians. Burt works at a restaurant. Ted works as a snow patrol. Bada and Roy work at a club for tough guys. Joey and Leonard travel together to explore places and to keep Leonard from falling asleep unnecessarily again. Then Flippy reunites with his family and shares with them about how he got rescued from being stuck in an aquarium.
