I watch your videos since years now and i personally think that youre doing bad at face up this kind of repairs without watch first few tutorials and some forum about. it will make you go into it in the correct way, save you lot of time and i really think that also it will make you learn to work, since youre not mechanic I hope so much you take this advise and help you much!!
I suggest you to delete the whole EGR system(egr valve, egr cooler, egr thermostat) so you save yourself from future problems. Also make sure that the swirl flaps are removed from intake manifold and oil breather on valve cover is an upgraded vortex one. Also changing thermostat together with water pump makes more sense :) Keep it up and enjoy winter :)
Adding to that you should keep egr system somewhere stored i would think inspections in norway might be more strict and result in not passing. And of course programming out both swirl flaps and egr.
MORE OF THOSE VIDEOES! i really love to watch you’r videos, and get a little closer on the e36 and the e60! really love your content! keep up the good work!💪🏽🤘🏽
Good job man! Always takes me ages whenever I do anything on my E46, but better to take your time and get it done right, enjoy the journey too. Nothing worse than having to rush just makes it stressful:')
Never take apart the EGR Thermostat they will likely never be sealed again. Learned it at first try to swap the EGR cooler. Just buy a delete EGR kit and make sure you wanna buy a good kit with mounting for engine cover otherwise it will be loose. TAFMET makes some cheap good ones.
Have you already removed the swirl flaps? You should also close the EGR for better reliability, i did it to my e39 and don't have to worry about stuff flying into my engine :)
Hi, did you manage to remove the old water pump gasket? Since I didn't see it to be removed in a video. The original water pump gasket is connected to the larger front gasket and needs to be cut in a couple of spots. It's a bit of a pain to cut it precisely. Also as someone mentioned before it would be a good idea to change both thermostats while you're in there.
Just did a starter on my e91 325D, the m57 is a lovely engine but a bitch to work on... "fun" to see that im not the only one that have issues with my m57 :P
I feel sory for you I had same bmw and all the problems starts by little things and after I fixed them there was more and more and then I just feeled that the problems with this car is unlimited and sold it. Good luck working on it😅😉

Well, I took a chance and drove it home actually. I managed to get home before reaching operating temps. Water pump still worked, just leaking. Filled her up with over 3 liters of water than I drove home ahah :)
Had the same proplem with my Wolkswagen phaeton 2002 w12. Exept that when driving 80 kmh the car overheated, and was in repair for a month and now it is spewing out wvery computer error code known to mankind.
i have the very terrible experience with this car myself, I have same year but automatic.. Car is great outside but every month or so I have a break, either mechanical or electronics. When I was buying this car I was pointed that m57 is the way to go and it's the best engine out there, unfortunately it gets really expensive, fuel consumption is 12l/100km city, in the winter this goes to 14l/100km... Plus all the expenses with repairs.. I am switching to audi a5 very soon.
@@chris205 I see, but this is not a 2010 F10. It`s a 2004 E60 so that engine is not the same I guess. So if I were to buy that chassi, it`s a lot more money that I don`t have, E60 is cheaper :)
Not fun...Anyways leave a like to mental support, heavy needed at the moment haha :) Stay tuned for part 2 of this video, it`s get worse...

It's good to see that you have your own garage that you actually use
Yeah, got to use what you have :) Not the biggest place, but it works :)

Swirl flaps is removed 👍🏼
My late father had this model. They are amazing cars. Just change all the wear and tear items . She will be fine
Love these videos Keep it upp, greetings from Sweden

Very awesome and excellent video my friend
Thanks bro :)
Good video, I wounder what happed next? is there a Part 2?
Hei, anbefaler du en e60? Hvis ja hvilken type motor?
Buy only the lci model with a 3.0L diesel significantly stronger and economical

how did you get the car home with a broken water pump? probably going to need how to do this in the future in my e46 ahahah

diesels are quite good at driving without cooling, you would be suprised how long you can drive before they really overheat.
Have you ever been reported to the police for drifting in street/parking place? Do you still have your driving license?

this engine is actually same 3.0 liter as 530d, just smaller turbo, injectors and couple things
I`m not so sure about that, I think the 3 liter 525d came in 2006, this is 2004, so this is a 2.5 liter M57 actually
@@FahreFilms yes you are correct 2004 is the 2.5.
Anbefaler deg å gjøre både swirl flaps og egr delete på m57 motoren. Da slepper du mye trøbbel med motorhavari!
welcome to bmw life haha
EGR thermostart shouldnt come apart like that :D
Noooooo 😭😭
Your car cute
Min e60 låste seg igjen når jeg var i Hemsedal og skulle stå på brett, måtte knuse ruta da jeg kun har 1 nøkkel😆
If there one moel to avoid from BMW its e60, there are a shit on of things that go bad on it, better get e90 for the same money.
See you should have gotten F10 BMW 3.0L engine, never has any problems
Well, E60 dont come with F10 engine do they ? Is that still a M57 engine ?
Idk about engine types all I know is that let’s say 2010 F10 525D is 3.0L engine, sell ur e60 and buy one
Thats the n57 engine! I got an 530d f10 and i changed engine 2 times! Those engines are shit! Rod bearing failure twice
