Good thing it was completely empty and devoid of any other human civilizations that didn't treat God's creation as if it were their personal plaything!
Congratulations 👏🎉 on your 260th milestone and I found out from Israelite Truth Channel that Mayflower Pilgrims including William Bradford ARE BLACK 🖤 Blessings and Hugs 💖💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕!
The beauty of history is every reader may take what he wants. No one's history can adequately be summed up in a single statement that fits on a bumper sticker. Many conflicting influences came from William Bradford's work, and many influences continue to be interwoven in America today. Choose those that make the most sense to you. Live for them, fight to defend them.
They didn't set aside a day for thankfulness called Thanksgiving, Abraham Lincoln did that years later. This video is super jaded and only half truths. So if your like me and doing a research paper on William Bradford, please don't use this video.
ive recently found out that i share blood with william bradford and that he in fact is my 13th great grand father witch im not sure how to feel about that
I am a 10th great grandson of William Bradford. The history of how Plymouth Colony started is common knowledge. The Pilgrims venture was funded by Dutch merchants in exchange for any and all profits from the plantation for seven years. They were supposed to land at the Hudson River as they had received a land patent from the Virginia *Company* to start another plantation in exchange for a cut of the profits growing mostly tobacco to send back to England. All of these transactions were about as capitalist as one can get. It was a chance to live above the lower class of Holland and they went for it just like my other ancestors from Jamestown, Plymouth, and Connecticut. The Pilgrims may have started out scraping by, but they made a hell of a lot of cash after that. It was the plan to succeed in the land of opportunity. The colonies were developed by royal and noble capitalists. They were all business deals and the polar opposite of communism. Ever notice that pretty much everyone who came to America with a land patent before 1700 was from royal and/or noble pedigree? Where did you go to school? Look up "Commonwealth". The Pilgrims went to Holland for religion. They went to America for opportunity.
I find this video VERY bias and racist! You do not mention once, the Indigenous involvement in this story. If the Wampanoag people hadn't assisted Bradford, the ENTIRE colony would have died! Not to mention, you need to get your facts straight. Democracy wasn't born from the mayflower compact. It was born right here in the so called "americas" with the Iroquois Confederacy!!!
The story was not about the Wampanoag, it was about William Bradford. But you are right. Bradford and the Pilgrims invited the band of 90 Indians because they had helped them survive.
I understand the story is about Bradford, but it's shrouded in too many misconceptions. and no, the English did not invite the Wampanoag. That was by accident.
whitewampum2 The written, historical evidence from governor William Bradford tells us that the Pilgrims at Plymouth colony invited the Wampanoag to enjoy the harvest that the Indians had helped to provide. They had 3 days of feasting, wrestling, races, etc. More than that, the Plymouth colony had the longest standing treaty with Indians in North American history. While American Indians were all too often abused by Europeans, the Plymouth Pilgrims were not among them.
Jaasau Which written historical evidence are you referring to? If you look at Bradford's "Of Plymouth Plantation" there is only one paragraph dedicated to the harvest celebration. He makes no mention of Wampanoag people in attendance, nor inviting them. Then if you look at Edward Winslow's letter found in Mourt's Relation, it states " many of the Indians coming amongst us, and among the rest their greatest King Massasoit, with some ninety men, whom for three days we entertained and feasted...." Again, no mention of an invitation.
Democracy was a known quantity from Ancient Greece. William Bradford studied Greek, which means he had some comprehension of the democratic system long before his encounter with the native population.
